👤I am a combat veteran with 4 tours in Iraq and a gas mask collector. I own the following: - Drager CDR 4500 - Drager X-plore , - Drager DHS 7000 - Drager FPS 7000 - Israeli Military M15 mask It is important to know what the mask is intended for and the level of protection it provides. The focus of the comparison is for the applications of the CBRN. A gas mask is only one component of personal protective equipment. You need coveralls, gloves, boots, and Chemtape to seal up the exposed areas. You would need a decontamination agent such as the FAST Act for equipment and theRSDL for the skin. You need to make sure the filters you buy are made for use in the CBRN. A rating of "A2B2E2K2HgSXP3 D R Reactor" is needed to be a true CBRN filter. There are a lot of filters on the market, but very few that also cover Reactor. The reactor neutralizes radioactive iodine. The filters cover all bases. Anyway, the review is here! The CM6M is compliant under the standards for respiratory protective devices. The visor has a wide field of view. The rubber is made from butyl rubber and it meets material specifications. It's a silicone inner mask and it's hypoallergenic. Comes standard with a speech device. The drinking system and canteen are standard. It's compatible with CamelBak water bladders. The standard 40mm filters are widely available. It's easier to breathe under physical exertion, and for people with smaller lung capacities, if you fit up to 2 filter cartridges simultaneously. Governments in Europe and the Middle East use it. They can be shipped to friends and family overseas without a lot of paperwork if they are produced in Europe. The shelf life is 20 years. There is a slight rubber smell. I thought I would mention that I own butyl masks that have some rubber smell, just in case someone reading this is sensitive to this. It is not approved by the NIOSH for use in the USA so it would limit professional use. It's great to have, but having or not having this certification doesn't determine quality, just means it passed a series of tests here in the US. The CM-7M is similar to the CM6M, but is made for military personnel. The Czech military uses a mask. There are 2 visors that are not standard. The CDR is a drager. I have designated the mask as a Preparedness backup after my CM6M and DHS 7000. The lack of a drinking system made me seek out other options as gas masks get pretty stuffy, and taking off the mask for some water while getting out of dodge may not be an option. The drager X-plore is 6000. The structure of this mask is the same as the CDR 4500. The rubber used for this mask is not approved by NIOSH. It has a NIOSH rating for use against many gases. This mask has a certification. Drager DHS 7000. This mask is very difficult to find and expensive. It is my favorite mask from all of them. I found one that was used for around $500, and they sell new ones for around $800. You can use it with any of the 3 configurations. Buy it if you can find one and have the cash. It is definitely overkill for basic CBRN preparedness. The drager has a performance rating of 7000. The mask is approved for use with an SCBA system, but it is not meant to protect from agents of the CBRN. The Israeli Civilian mask can be found in surplus stores for under $30. The small visors make it difficult to see, even if you have one for each eye. Many people in Israel have this mask in case of emergency, and I am sure it has saved lives over the years, but I would not trust it, most are surplus and could have been sitting around for 20 years. The mask is not rated for use in CBRN. Most of the filters supplied are long expired. The Israeli Military M15 mask has the same specifications as the 4A1, but with bigger visors. If you purchase these, keep in mind that they do expire in 20 years. Over the years, I have owned 5 M15 surplus masks and 3 had damaged valves, which led to a return. The masks are resistant to certain warfare agents. The spec sheet is a good place to look for more detail. Mestel SGE 150: The mask is not intended for use in the CBRN. There is no protective coating on the visor. This would be used against tear gas, pepper spray, and riot situations. The Mestel SGE 400/3 is the same as the SGE 150, but with three filter ports. There are a few accessories for this mask. Retail is around $200, and can go up to $400 when fully loaded with accessories. If you want the extra accessories, you either have to buy them pre-installed or send them back to the factory for professional installation which could take weeks. If you are stuck in a riot, this is a great mask to use to block tear gas. The Mestel SGE 400/3 is the same as the SGE 400/3, but has a rubbery butyl seal, which is more suitable for use in the CBRN. The Russian/German M-10-M protective mask is outdated and not suitable for use in the field of CBRN protection. All it is good for is a costume. The current military issue mask for the US is called the Avon M50. There are a few things that can happen. The M50 uses filters that are difficult to find un-expired. 99% of the filters on the market are expired surplus, because they are only sold to the military. If you can get one in a sealed box with the included instruction manual, I would recommend purchasing it. If the valves on your M50 are clear, the mask is faulty. If you get a sealed mask with unexpired filters and functional values, it will work very well. These are ITAR regulated and cannot be exported out of the country. The biggest bang for your buck for a CBRN mask can be found in the MIRA CM6M gas mask and the MIRA NBC-77 SOF filter. It is used for civil defense to protect government officials in Europe and the Middle East, it comes with a drinking module, canteen, and a speech diaphragm, and it is also used for protection against CBRN threats. The large visor makes it easy to see. The standard shelf life for filters out of the water is 6 years, but the mask and filters have a 20-year shelf life. A mask from Drager would cost $750, one from Mestel would cost $400, and an Avon M50 mask would cost $600 with all accessories. This mask is my top choice for preparedness on a budget without sacrificing features. Hope this helps!

👤This is the review you want to read. I bought this for myself to use. I am currently in the mountains of Idaho and have a lot of use for everything in this bundle. I struggled to get this bundle, but I decided to invest in a good pick axe and go with this axe bundle instead. Don't buy this kit for the axe, first thing you need to know. It broke when I was using it as a wood axe to chop up small logs. The axe head surprised me and seemed capable of chopping. The sides of the log were damaged by my swings, as you can see in the picture. The axe head is pretty good. It broke on its own neck. It broke on its own neck and did not break at an extension where you can connect to it to extend it out and make it longer. The picture is deceiving because you can see threads where the break is, but it is not the case. I think they put that neck into the axe. There is no way to change out that neck for a different extension if the threads are there. I have a small hand hatchet with a hammer. There is a risk with that axe. The axe head broke off and that was the end of the story. If I hadn't used it as a short hatchet and extended it into a wood chopping axe, it could have gone flying off somewhere. It broke my second swing into a wood log because I didn't have enough force to break it as a hand held. I am not sure about that. Let's move past the axe and get to the rest of it. The shovel. The neck of the shovel is important because it can be used as a hoe. I have used it a bit and it may feel a bit weird, but I am used to holding shovels. The shovel doesn't seem to break easily. After the axe broke, I played with it to see if the shovel would hold up. There is a bit of a hassle in changing from shovel to hoe. It's easier to remove the shovel head from the extensions and put it back on. The way that the extension handles screw together makes it difficult to adjust the shovel head lock because the threads are opposite directions. Nobody is buying a cheap compass. You can buy replacements if the flint looks like it screws in and out. If you are getting in some night work, I recommend using a headlamps as well as the flashlight. I like the pocket knife a lot. It was ready and sharp and is not a cheapo knife. It is a Browning. The clippers and pliers are of good quality, not necessarily name brand, so if you have craftsman tools, obviously this wouldn't be on par, but it's not just cheap crap that seems like it's going to break just being taken out of the package. The extension bars feel like a force to be reckoned with. They feel good quality, the whole set, all of the metal smelled like a well oiled fire arm and that smell was really impressive and added appeal to everything. They screw together clean and at the final turn, even if you screw it in tight, it will come together. The work they put into those extensions is great. The whole thing feels powerful and smooth, but it is also misleading. If they don't use aluminum or aluminum alloy on the head of the axe, it's simply not strong enough for a real man to use, so I think they have to use something else. The only complaint I have is the axe. I wish they would have tested it more, or at least not advertise it as a wood cutting axe, because that can seriously hurt someone. I think everything else in the box is decent, except for the axe, which is a bit down, but I don't think it will break as easily. If something else goes wrong, I will update this review. I will give this 3 stars because everything is pretty good with one exception. I would have given it 4 stars, but I feel like it should lose one for the danger it poses if that axe head doesn't break as smoothly as mine.

👤The package arrived two days later than expected but luckily it was on time. Birthday gift. The package and case is nice, but there is no Guide to explain some of the things. Most things are obvious, but it would be nice if there was an explanation. Disappointed.
👤This would be a nice little kit. Not a survival at all. Has a couple good features but would hate to die on this one.
👤My husband had a star on his birthday. I don't blame him for unpacking each item with oohs and ahs, like it came out of a bag after a party. This kit is awesome. The price for the two-dozen or so items inside seems reasonable. There are so many stars.
👤The kids had a great time opening this one, it had many discussion worthy pieces.
👤The pen exploded with ink. It has to be thrown away.
A great gift is the functional outdoor throwing axe. The throwing hatchet is a great gift for people who enjoy hiking or hunting. They will be impressed by your choice, if you give this gift on Christmas or February 14th. The all-in-one walking stick has 5 sections, 1 handle, and 3 tools. The outdoor hiking gear is made from aluminum alloy 6061-T6 and is worth every penny. Also, note: Aigear walking sticks have 3 must-have outdoor tools. The hand can be formed to a curve. The ideal size for both men and women is used for walking and hiking. The overall length is 43.5 inches when forming the handle to straight and 1.1 inches when it's not straight. Make sure the model number is the same as the walking stick when you choose an extension section on Amazon. The extension section of the walking stick is called PPWS002 Ext. The backpack is included in the search for anti-skid tip and ext-black and ext-gray. B085Q8RQ4R and B085Q8LB8J are lightweight walking sticks that come with outdoor tools. There is a video on the product page for how to assemble a walking stick.
👤The walking stick is heavy. If you hike in places where there are wild animals, you will be more comfortable with this hiking stick. It's a hiking stick and a survival stick at the same time. It is easy to put together. I feel it's too short for a traditional hiking stick, so I'm giving it four stars instead of five. I was forced to order extensions on Amazon because they were easy to do there, but the price was a little too high. You will be happy with this purchase, but you may want to order one or two extensions for taller people.
👤I ordered a walking stick because I was almost attacked by a stray dog on a walk. I now carry a pistol daily. I don't like having to use a firearm for repelling a dog, but I do like the alloy walking stick. There is a We wouldn't have to worry about protection from the dog's if people kept their animals in line.
👤We use this on our walks. We live in an area with a lot of stray dogs and action. The stick is amazing. If we're in danger, I can detach it and give my wife one piece. Within seconds, the stick assembles and disassembles. It's not very light, but it's strong, solid quality and what is expected for those moving pieces. We're thinking of giving more and giving them to relatives for Christmas.
👤This is a good piece of gear. I bought it for protection. To use this on hard surfaces, you'll need to replace the foot with a standard cane rubber foot. The supplied foot won't work on slippery city streets. I didn't have to buy any more links. It's a comfortable height for me, I'm 5'8".
👤I'm happy to recommend this product. If I could, I would give it 10 stars. Totally exceeded my expectations. I bought an extension that fits like a glove.
👤The thing is made of tick aluminum with rubber seals. I bought an extension for it and it's perfect for a walking stick. This is not cheap and flimsy like the survival sticks that couldn't hold up to a buffet. If I had the skills and materials, I would make this.
👤The multi section hiking staff is rock solid. When ordering a non name brand item like this, you don't really know because it's a high degree of fit and finish, pieces screw together with precision, and there's a rubber seal around the base component. This is a serious piece of gear.
👤I am very happy with my purchase. I was looking for a cane and hitting pole that I can use in the event I am attached and the sucker is well suited for that. It is heavy for a tracking pole, but it is well made. If you need to clobber a bear or mugger, you need something heavy. If you get caught and need to start a fire or spear a fish, the included tools are a bonus. I need a piece of rubber for the handle as it is very well made but needs some padding for low hikes.
Axe has a hammer pommel and a blade cover with a lanyard for transport. The function is 1. Quickly set a new edge and No. 1 V-Notch slot. No. 2 (Fine CERAMIC)-Hone for a smooth finished edge. The diamond rod has a Medium 400 Grit. A diamond rod with grooves for fishhooks. The rod is ferro. The whistle is high. A portable tactical field knife sharpener with built-in lanyard hole is ideal for hunting, camping, outdoor survival use. It works well for a chef knife. The CARBIDE and CERAMIC abrasives pass a field use test 10,000 times. NEVER WEARS OUT. Set the optimal angle. This pocket knife sharpener can be used for both straight edge and serrated knife. Sharpal headquarters in CA, US with overseas branches in Germany and Australia aim to provide consumers with an easy and cost-effective way to obtain a sharp edge. It was manufactured and field-tested to the highest standards.
👤I know what I'm talking about and I'm not just expressing my opinion as a "knife guy", I sell and work on knives for a living. I picked this up because I have tried many pull throughs, including the most popular one on Amazon. If you can believe it, this little guy is better than either Lansky or Smith's current basic offerings. I shaved my inner left arm after I used it to sharpen a filter. It only took about 5 minutes, and it looks like it will be set at a 20 angle on both coarse and fine options. I haven't tried using the ferro rod combo, so I can't say for sure. The whistle works well, my beagle agrees. If you're looking for a good pull through that won't chew up your blade, I would recommend it. Good value for money too.
👤I've been a subscriber to the fixed angle sharpeners for a long time. I gave stones an honest shot, without oil, with water, different angles, and different strokes. I tried everything. It took forever and never left me with the sharpness I wanted. For me, the carbides are just plain work, not refined enough for some, but a brute force tactic. I'm ready to go after I get a sharp blade. They can easily oversharpen and take off too much metal if you want to make a blade that's not dull yet. The secondary fine edge sharpener built into this one will solve the problem. This one has a rounded diamond sharpener. The whistle and firestarter are just icing on the cake. The tool has a lot of functions. I was a bit skeptical but I'm glad I got it. I ordered their Multipurpose Sharpening tool on Amazon, which is high quality and has a fine honing edge that is made of carbide as well, which should be great for sharpening levels in between the ceramic and the rough carbide. The only negative I can think of is that it doesn't have rubber strips or feet to hold it on a flat surface while sharpening, but I never did that with my carbide sharpeners in the past. I held the knife in one hand and the sharpener in the other. The edge of this one is not flat, so you can still set it down.
👤The sharpener was well below my expectations, based on all of the glowing reviews. I tried it on multiple knives and it was dull. I tried different methods after that didn't work, and didn't get any better results. Hard pressure seemed to make no difference. I tried a different angle out of frustration, but it didn't make a difference. I spent over 30 minutes on one knife pulling it through and it did nothing but tear up my knife blade. I have had better luck with knives on the bottom of a mug. You can use the mug for two things, unlike this item. The firestarter is easy to get stuck in the holding slot if you push it in all the way. It is very difficult to get back out. The whistle was the only thing that worked. This item was beyond disappointing and I usually don't leave 1 star reviews. It felt like a rip off.

👤It's great, I can forget about my kids in the woods and not worry if they'll make it to the morning.
👤Good selection of gear, well packaged, convenient size.
👤The product is of great quality. I use a knife often. I haven't used everything yet. I can't wait to use it.
👤My son loves it.
👤You can come in a box. The box is too small for what it contains. Good value is quality. Smaller items such as blankets, fire starter, whistle, rope, and so on are included in the 21 items. This set does not have a first aid kit. You can find a better first aid kit elsewhere. The pocket knife and hammer/axe multitool are the most expensive items here. The two sold for 10 dollars each. The quality of the tools is good, I can feel all-metal construction on the knife and hammer multitool. This kit is for camping or survival. The hammer tool has an axe on it. I don't know how much chopping power you can get with a small tool, so I can't tell if an axe is needed. The hammer can be used to anchor a tent, nail a rope or something on to a tree. The pocket knife has a safety lock so it won't accidentally close, and it is all metal. Other stuffs are good to have. The spoon is made of metal. The flint is small enough to do a job. I don't think there is a fishing line in this set, but it is one of the most complete sets on the market with a reasonable price, and the hammer multitools add value.
👤These kits are great. This one has 21 different tools in a small carrying case. Many of the tools are multi-purpose. It places all of the tools into a single package, which is different than having many of the tools overlap with other items. All of these are in a small box. I keep them in my car, bug out bag, and camping equipment. All of these are in a very tightly packed box. Getting to the right tool can be difficult. It can be painful to repack. I don't usually dive into this in order to get a tool. If there's an emergency, there's a good chance I'll have that tool I need to: break out of my car, signal for help, find my way back, repair that gizmo, start a fire, or just make my friends believe I can! Any man would love this. Many ladies would do the same.
👤I ordered this for my husband to keep in his camping gear. There are 21 items in it. TI was happy that the items are of good quality. It's a unique box that doesn't include any of the trivial first aid items. I have a first aid kit that is attached to my backpack. My husband is an ex spec op instructor and he was impressed with the kit. It will be useful.
Tactical and military are the type of sport. The package weight is 5.0 lbs. The body is made of steel. Cerakote will not break. Scales on a handle. Attaches To Pack, Body Armor, and Other. The axe head is made in the USA. The pry bar has a hammer head. The handle is tan with a steel body.
👤So far, three stars, use it for work. I would give higher, but there are many things that go into rating items. Performance is the winner in work related uses. The rating is lowered by the price in comparison to others. Many can't afford an OOP of the unit when there's others on the market that do as well. Smaller companies that make US made breachers, axe's, that rate higher as they perform well, are a better price. The sheath for the axe is good, but it was thrown away. I used regular molle web clips to hold it. I will update the rating in 6 months, but I was not able to make a day in my vehicle, I attached a pic with the stock molle sheath before throwing it away.
👤Corinne bought this for me. I am a firefighter and am always looking to try out new tools, unlike many who are looking at this for the zombie assault at world's end. I was curious when I saw that the military had a design by Gerber. I decided to give it a try after some research. There are better tools for forcible entry. It is nearly impossible to beat a set of irons in skilled hands, which is a combination of a flat head axe and a Halligan bar. I wanted something light. I grab a short hook and my radio when I am a company officer. I was able to make a shoulder strap to hold the tomahawk at my side and not impede me while wearing full structural turn out gear because this is small and light. This allows me to have a small pry/chop tool when looking for fire extension. A forcible entry tool is more likely. I don't need to go back to the engine. We had to make a forced entry to a steel door with a steel frame and we had to check for open windows, keys under mats, etc. One firefighter was told to get the irons. I decided to try this tool while he was there. The pry end was small enough to fit into the small gap, and the angle on the end made it easy to lean full body weight and pry against the door. The tomahawk was quick to work the dead door. The Irons would have made entry, but this is a tool I always have with me, and it has a lifetime warranty from Gerber. I think I will keep this handy, other than crews acting like fools at shift change playing with the tomahawk. I plan on cutting a gas shut off into the handle.
👤The tool is the best since sliced bread. It isn't good for slicing bread, but that's not the purpose. It is an emergency tool. I bought it for my go bag when the next disaster threatens. If you can't smash through a windshield or make your own entry into a room, what's the point of having a water purification bottle, tarp, deck of cards, energy bars and zip ties? I've only used it for a few things, including cutting down some ivy, throwing it at a tree, and cutting a banana. Don't tell my wife about that part, but a 7-year old could balance it. It looks tough and well designed. Is it a bug out bag, or is it a perfect strap to the side of my bag?
High quality products. Off Grid Tools has the latest and greatest outdoor tools that are functional, versatile, high quality, and innovative. During long adventures hiking, hunting, fishing, and camping, put survival in the palm of your hand. There is a shoddy proof. It is built for any situation. The axe is rugged enough to survive in the wilderness. The sheath is free to keep the blade sharp when not in use. STAINLESS STEEL. The blade is made from a type of steel that is resistant to rust. This axe is versatile and has a hammer and pry tool. There is a risk free warranty. They will replace or refund your purchase if you don't like it.
👤I have not been offered any compensation by HX Outdoors, Amazon, or any other company for my opinions regarding this product. The axe is an awesome tool, and it's 100% usable straight out of the box. The great This axe is a great buy, as compared to other brands in the same style, at a listed price of $79.99. The length is great for being able to get good swing leverage, there are finger grooves on the head for lighter shaving and shaping tasks. The advantage is that you won't break the head of the axe by hitting something with the hammer pad, unlike a cast/badly-forged axe. This axe is better for longevity and reliability because it is FULL tang. I don't know what they're for, but they're going to be used for a lanyard on my lanyard. The fit of the head sheath is great, and can be adjusted to fit any position. The design of the cutting edges is incredibly useful for different types of cutting tasks, but at first glance it appears to be function-less. The use of the scales is a good choice, but the ergonomics are not good, HX made a good attempt at indicating holding positions, but the overall feel of the scales is not comfortable. They are sharp to the touch, but can be corrected by sanding them down for a few minutes. I don't think I will use it much, but the addition of a multi-size wrench is nice. Maybe I will. The pry bar is well-shaped and will be useful if I need one. The screws that came in the axe handle are not black-oxide coated as one might think. They are painted black. The solvent in the glue reacted with the paint on the screws, creating a nasty congealed mess under the screw heads. I removed the screws and posts and the material was a bit melted from the excess glue in the laminate. I cleaned it all off because it was horrible. I'm not entirely sure why they cheaped out on hardware and thread-lock, since they aren't expensive to begin with. I can't imagine HX would use painted screws and super-glue in lieu of Loc-Tite and black-oxide screws in order to make these in a volume. I'll be replacing the scales with rosewood, profiled to match the existing scales, and I'll be wrapping the handle in a style similar to Japanese Tsukamaki, with a leather over wood core, finished in silk or leather ito. The bamboo mekugi pins will probably be the same as the screws, since ito will keep everything together. I'll be adding menuki to the build as well. A 4-star tool. It's definitely solid, useful outdoors and cool-looking. The purchase price was well- worth it. I'm making a project out of my axe, but it's more than usable right out of the box. HX, please use black-oxide screws and thread-lock. I have not been offered any compensation for my opinions regarding this product.
👤The axe came as a shock. Also, well built. It took 2 months to ship from China, but I'm not a stickler for tools. That is due to not having a prime option. It performed as expected after being tested out. It's in my camping bag. This thing is awesome.
Carry pocket with quick access slot The Seventy2 Pro builds on the legacy of their signature design, with enough survival supplies for two, additional tools, and a redesign of the carrying system. The 600D, waterproof tarpaulin is now situated on a soft-frame harness with a new shoulder and straps for a true all-day carry. The PRO includes a full-tang and rubber grip knife, anti-fog ski goggles, upgraded first-aid kit, metal water bottle, and more. A first aid kit, emergency food ration, fire starters, an emergency shelter, a tri-band radio, water filter, and more are included in the expanded insert. The insert contains step-by-step survival instructions that detail how to build a fire, administer first aid, and stay warm.
👤The components and gear are of high quality. In a stress situation Embossed instructions are needed. It includes a flash light, but I added a Headlamp. Also T-paper. I keep it in the house so I can get to it.
👤I loved this. The essentials for the zombie apocalypse were organized. I didn't want to review the materials. Great job on the product.
👤Everything came as advertised. This is a great addition to my goals. Couldn't be happier!
👤We feel less anxious about handling a local crisis now that we have a well-thought out kit.
👤The Kitbashed Survival You Tube channel review is overpriced.
The leather sheath is made from high quality skin. Buy with confidence. The Meridius dual edge sword is the ultimate no-jockey knife and is perfect for clearing brush, protection against wild animals, or for your knife collection. The double edge blade has a black oxide finish to protect against the elements. A nylon-reinforced molded handle is used for slicing and dicing. A 1680D military grade nylon sheath and lanyard hole provide a variety of carry options to keep the sword safe. The old swords of old are brought into the new era with a sleek and sharp design. Please use it with care.
👤I was very happy with this blade. The blade is finished in black. The package knife makes the edge smooth and sharp. There is a hint of waist but there is a long point in the pattern. The guard is in front of the center of gravity, which makes it feel light in the hand. The grip is sturdy and comfortable. It seems like the 420 is perfect for a larger blade. The blade is stiff and the temper seems good. The nylon sheath has 13 rivets and is very secure. The long guard has a reposse on the blade that is unnecessary. The smell is like a lawyer improvement. The Reapr blade is better than the Cold Steel machete because it is easier to maintain, and it holds up better in wet outdoor conditions.
👤In good condition, it arrived in two days. The weight feels right and the balance is close to the guard. The material and design of the hilt feel good and are more comfortable than you might think. The edge of the package is sharp enough to hack up foliage. The point is very sharp and can be embedded into wood with minimal effort. I don't recommend sticking out a log as you can easily warp the tip of your newachete when you pull it back out. Speaking from experience. It's not hard to warp back into place if you do. The sheath is made of nylon and the tip of the machete will catch on as you put it away. The inside is made of something smooth, so once you've got the point in, the rest will follow.
👤This was an impulse purchase that I did not regret. The mini sword is a fun blade, but it's not called a machete. The blade is too thin for my liking, but it is workable for some thin branches in the event of a zombie apocalypse, and the balance is slightly forward from the hilt.
👤Well worth the current price. Awesome looking. Useful? No! Needed? No! A good defense weapon? May be. If you make contact with someone who has been stabbed, then yes. MayBE will prevent a need to use it if intimidating looks alone is used. It's not an ideal defense weapon, it'ssemi heavy, awkward to handle, and difficult to put into action in an effective way. It still looks bad. There was a note on the cover of Gun World. Have given away their purchases to friends.
👤Lasher Tools makes these blades, they are not manufactured by Cold Steel. Lasher makes tools. Cold Steel does not manufacture their items. Dragon Forge makes their Katana's. The tip of my tool was bent. I was happy that I was able to bend it back, but not thrilled.
👤It's nice for what it costs. I have never seen a mass market blade that was as sharp. It seems pretty durable. If the tip is stabbed into something very hard, it will break off. A great purchase. The nylon sheath is the weakest point and will eventually fail. Love the grip.
It is designed to concentrate the full force of a crushing blow in a small area so that even a moderately powerful blow can be remarkably effective in disarming or incapacitating an attacker. 👤I was skeptical about investing in a cane/walking stick with so few reviews, but I am impressed! The tools that it comes with are a great bonus. My main use for this will be walking. Sometimes I need a cane because of my left leg issues. I didn't want to use traditional old man cane, so this 100% fit the bill there. The black powder coat looks very cool. If you want a hiking stick/cane, you may want to invest in one or two of the extension that they sell. It has a nylon sling bag to hold everything when the cane is broken down. I will update this if there are any changes or if I have issues with it, but my initial impression is that it is a great investment.
👤Order this if you want a cool toy. If you want this to be a walking cane look elsewhere. The foot is made of plastic. It slips and slides.
👤This is a great idea for a cane, but it has some short comings. It's made from solid aluminum and is very sturdy, but it comes at a price. It is 12 ounces and weighs 2 lbs. I don't think it's an issue for me, but if you're older and not as strong, keep that in mind. The next issue is that the plastic bases could possibly come loose, with serious use. I tried to remove one of the tools after using it for a couple of hours. I had to put vise grips on it. I put a drop of oil on the threads after threading them on and off several times. The tip is the biggest problem. It's not anti-slip. It's made of a hard plastic which sticks to hard surfaces. The round tip makes it worse than a flat foot cane. It causes less surface area for contact. If you use it on hard surfaces you will slip and fall. I need a rubber sleeve or tip which I can slip over the hard plastic one. I'm still keeping it because it's nice and hefty and wonderfully made.
👤I can use a cane. I had to order an extra section because the Trekking stick's height is a little low. It was very well made. The knife with saw back and bottle opener is of decent quality, the saw can get locked to a 90 degree angle, and the fish spear is well made, so it will work. A rock will not work indoors and a soft rubber tip can't be replaced. I wanted to see if I could put a soft tip over it. It would have been nice to have a way to attach a lanyard. Maybe a piece of pipe insulation will make it easier to use. This thing can be used as a weapon. Extra tip is on the heavy side so minus another star.
👤This walking stick is strong. If you are on the taller side, you will need to buy an extension to make it last longer.
