👤They are bags of water. If you're using these, they're to keep you alive, not comfortable, because they don't hold much water. If you're sweating or in a very dry climate, you should increase the number of pouches you take. The water tastes good. Five-year shelf life is what they say. I think they will last much longer than that as nothing will break down. The rubbery plastic inner liner is strong and can make tearing it open a challenge, but the pouches are pretty durable. The pouches have room to spare, so they shouldn't burst. If you're storing these water pouches yourself, remember that ice expands just under 10%. If you think the water might freeze, leave one pouch worth of volume free. They will most likely break their seams when it's cold. I put the.50 cal can in my freezer while I was experimenting with ways to store the water for survival kits. You can store ten pouches sandwich-style or eleven pouches stacked. If the can will be exposed to freezing temperatures for more than a night, they will almost certainly blow up, but you can fit twelve pouches stacked in their liquid form and still have room for the lid to close. If you live in a high desert, you should be okay if you only experience overnight freezes. The box was the best value on Amazon and I went for it. I wish the crimped edges of the pouches were a bit smaller, they are almost half an inch wide, and it introduces more challenges to storage. I use them for survival kits in a disaster and for my car. If you're looking for a home emergency water supply, you should use large gallon containers.

👤The box arrived in perfect shape and was verified that I got 100 packs. I divided them between the 4 emeregency back packs that I have for each member of my inmediate family. The order was placed in February 2020 and expires in January 2025. Good deal.

👤I am happy with the purchase. The pouches don't have a lot of room to tear it open. I didn't think there was a strange taste when I opened it. There is a 1/2 cup of water inside each pouch. Suggests that there be 4 pouches per person. The box has a lot of pouches. In case of an emergency, I'm happy!

👤I have used other survival water that was white with purple writing on it and it tasted like chemicals.

👤You don't have to keep those bottles of water in the car for an emergency. The product was fresh when it was one month old. There are some in the car for the kids to throw in the trunk. I don't know if I'll ever taste one, but under emergency circumstances who's going to work up if it's not pristine?

👤I was going to buy a replacement water for my bag from the original company. The prices for the water pouches were almost twice as much as shipping. I contacted them about the price difference and they said they would make sure their pouches were up to date. I went with the Amazon pouches because I couldn't justify the price of theirs. The expired date started in November of 2019. I was okay with that if it wasn't close to a year or more for the price. The pouches are very strong.

Brand: Vamrone

👤These were purchased as part of the emergency survival packs. I filled them when we were in danger of losing water. They are collapsible, but when filled they lose their shape completely. They're like blobs with handles. The plastic spouts are cheap. We got what we paid for, because they were very cheap. It's the same thing. In a pinch, invest in something better.

👤It leaked all over the place the first time. The fault is on the operator. Before securing the ring, make sure it fits inside the cap. Voila! There are no more leaks. It is a good size for camping for a day or two. It's not heavy to carry it from the spigot to the campsite. In case of an emergency, I have four smaller collapsible 1.3 gallon containers that I will leave in my car and in my room. I will label them. I will take it to a camping trip and see how it goes. I like the fact that it's light and compact.

👤Do not buy this container. As you get water, it slows down or stops. The best way around this is to open the tap and pull the container to make it bigger. That was not the dealbreaker for us. The fact that it can't be used on a table to open the tap, fill cups or wash hands is what got it thrown away. It rolls away when you try to use it. It was a pain. Poorly designed.

👤I recycle the empty containers when I buy water in plastic containers. This is a better option for the environment. I was skeptical because I was worried that the container would leak during transport. It worked perfectly on two trips. If it continues to perform, then it's worth 5 stars.

👤This is a great thing to have with you on a camping trip. I have this in my camping gear because it comes in such a handy way to have the water jug for everyone with the nozzle. The plastic doesn't change the flavor at all. It can fit in any fridge.

👤This is a smaller jug than our old one, so we bought it. If the cap is a little crooked, the water leaks like crazy. I like the way the spout locks the opening to keep out bugs. It pours slowly. We take off the cover if we need to fill a big hole. It feels a little flimsy carrying it. It stretches but the plastic is strong. It is a good replacement and space saver.

👤The design is space saving and it collapses as it fills. The container is sturdy. My issue is with the valve. It took a few tries to get the valve and cap seated right so it wouldn't leak when filling a pot. It did seal eventually. There is a What is that label about? That could not have been placed on the bottom. No? Do you think someone might wander through my campsite and see the label and think, hey, I need to get me one of those? The glue! You can't get it off. This review will be updated after I take this out in the field.

Brand: Survive-a-tac

👤I wanted to leave it attached to my garden hose. I asked how much pressure it could take and was told up to 30 lbs. The water hose line is 15 lbs. It burst. It was ruined. On the first fill.

👤I liked the storability of this bladder. The loops and corner holes can be used for many lifting options. I use this for portable water transfer. I had to fill my tank without the RV.

4. Portable Emergency Container Freezable Backpacking

Brand: Waterstoragecube

👤I live in Florida. When a storm threatens, we have to get to the store to stock up on water in case of an emergency, the stock is gone by the time we get to the store. It's hard to keep track of age and keep gallons on hand for emergencies. I grabbed the 10 gallons left over from our adventure and it tasted like plastic. No more! Having food grade storage jugs means I can keep one in the car and a few on hand at all times, and at the first hint of a storm, I can start filling others from our own water. I've been looking for a solution like this for a long time. I used to have the 5 gallon jugs, but now they are too heavy for me. These are easy to distribute in a mini-van in small spaces, as opposed to trying to fit large containers. One can stay in the freezer half full and be ready to go in the cooler on a moment's notice. No more plastic that is wasted.

👤Amazon no longer stocks this brand, so I bought these to replace it. The bag design uses less material so the bottom of the bag is flatter and the ridge around the base is tippy, not only do they not stand alone but are very tippy when full. My other brand had a way to grasp the bag on the bottom corner, but that was not the case with my other brand. When I got home and opened the rear hatch, the one that I had just filled exploded, blowing out the top seam. My fault. I would not have expected anything less from the fall that defeated the seam in the top of the container. I love the idea and am still looking to replace my failed one with a similar bag, but I would not recommend taking them anywhere they cannot be supported upright.

👤They were exposed to the elements for the better part of the day because I used them for a water cache. They didn't give off-flavors to the water and seem sturdy. The wide mouth opening makes it easier to wash and dry out, but it has some drawbacks. 1. If you lose the cap, you won't be able to find a replacement, whereas the narrow mouth ones can use a "standard" cap size that you find on disposable water bottles. 2. It is difficult to pour and transfer the contents into a narrow mouth bottle with a wide mouth. You spill a lot of water. The build quality seems good. When I was hauling water bags in the back of my truck, my previous water bags popped.

👤The container is behind the punch dispensers. I was giving a baby shower for my daughter at a venue and didn't know how I was going to get it there. I thought I would try them. I put the punch into the containers and put them in the fridge. It was easy to put it in the drink dispensers. They were sent by a god. When we go camping, I will use them to take water from the lake.

5. LifeStraw Personal Camping Emergency Preparedness

Brand: Lifestraw

👤You should get a Sawyer-Mini. I have used both on camping trips. You need steel jaws to suck water. If you use a Sawyer or other filters with pump/squeeze action, you won't have to rip out your filling. You have to lie on the ground, and other filters have a straw if the pouch breaks. You need to watch actual videos of people who use these frequently before voting down this post. Everyone uses a pump or squeeze method of filtration. Lifestraws are a great idea, but it is hard to use.

👤I am sorry to have the first one be so negative but the life straw was a total and utter disappointment. I bought it for my daughter to go to Mexico with strict instructions to not drink anything without the life straw. Had she followed my instructions she would have died of dehydration. We followed the instructions from the video to soak it, but we couldn't get any water to come through it. It was too late to return to Amazon and I did not receive a reply when I contacted Life Straw. Too bad. I was going to have one for each family member to have in an emergency pack. I will not do that after this experience.

👤This thing is serious. I went backpacking on Maine's Bigelow range. I ran out of water when I brought it. Bring a wide mouth bottle and fill it with water. I drank from the most disgusting looking hole on top of a lower peak. I thought it would be safe, but it wasn't. Wrong. It tasted like fresh spring water. Better than a tap. I'm from Maine, and I've tasted plenty of water from the mountain springs. It can be difficult to start. You have to prove it by soaking. Blow into it if it still doesn't work. Everyone should have a bug-out bag in case of a civil war, because the world seems to have gone mad.

👤If you don't clear the water after each use, the water will seize up. I didn't run a gallon through either of the break I had.

👤I dropped it from my mouth to the countertop and it stopped working, which is ridiculous. There was no impact at all. It is dangerous to have a water source out in the woods if it can't take an impact. This bad review is solely about that fact.

👤I've used these in both Iraq and Afghanistan. Works as advertised. The system is safe to use. When we deploy, we use it as a standard procedure to have one in everyone's room. It's called Semper Fi.

👤I drank from a steam. I have become a hippie. I'm in a transformation.

👤We got what we ordered. I've used this product before in Afghanistan, and I'm happy with it.

👤The price was right, so I wanted to get one for a while. The water out of the Lake of Two Mountains tasted good and did not have any ill effects.

6. Miniwell Filtration Emergency Backpacking Collapsible

Miniwell Filtration Emergency Backpacking Collapsible

The setup and disassemble are simple. To cook emergency dry-freeze food, you need clean water. FILTERING MORE is a method of removing harmful chemicals from fresh water. The backpack has 2000L of clean and drinkable water. gravity work is used for filtration There are threads on both sides. The whole system can be connected. Hang it on the tree. The process is automatic. Water filters can be extended by backwash. The collapsible bottle can backwash the filter. It's pointless to have a syringe for backflush. Premium quality materials are used in the endurable water bladder. The water bladder passed a test. A wide-mouth opening for fast, easy filling is what the slidelock design has. The carry handle is comfortable. Other brands use a laundry bag. The L 630 water filter can be screwed on a disposable bottle. The system weighs 0.8 pounds. The lifetime guarantee is a buy with conviction.

Brand: Miniwell

👤I bought this for a trip to the Pacific Ocean with three other people. There is a natural water source near our campsite. I needed a quality water filter to keep us healthy while we were out there, and this water filter system did the trick! I bought it with a 3 liter gravity feed bladder so that we could have a source of water. The entire kit was 888-282-0465 The instructions were easy to follow. I was able to fill the bladder the first time. I tried to get the water out of the pool. I wasn't able to get more than a liter in the bladder. I opened the bladder's wide mouth and set it into the trickle after I discovered an area of the stream where the water trickled down some rocks. It filled quickly and easily. The stream was clear so we didn't experience any restrictions inflow from the water filter, but I still back flowed the water filter each day to ensure smooth operation. If I see a stream with a lot of silt, I'll just let the water bladder sit for a while and then hook up the filter. I'm really happy I got this system as it was perfect for what I needed. I'm looking forward to using it again on our trips.

👤It was used for 12 days. The lakes we were on had a lot of suspended and floating debris. The filter worked well. The filter will not live up to the complaints of others if it is not flushed after each use. The filter will work great if you back flush it. It took some time to get used to, but for the money, this filter is great. My brother bought a similar system from REI that requires 1/2 liter of clean water to "prime" the filter for each use...whoa... The filter costs less and does not require a primer. Our old hand pump was upgraded. The tips are 1. Don't screw the filter tight, leave it loose. There isn't an air lock. The water will flow in a small stream. Setting down the full bag of water on something helps with the lock fitting. A 1/3 full bag is even easier. After every use, flush the filter. There were no issues. They provide a small bag for your clean water catch, but I suggest you bring an empty 2 liter bottle, which screws onto the filter perfectly, for your clean water catch. Once the 2 liter is full of water, pull the hose from the filter and leave it at the ground, point the 2 liter at the ground and squeeze hard to back flush. The first few ounces are dirty. The filter is back flushed and ready for use 4. 2 carabiners are required to clip onto the supplied strap. Attach to loop on one end for a water bag to be put in, and the other end for hanging, wrapping strap around a limb.

Brand: Campmax

👤I was surprised that I received them before the delivery date. I've yet to use them to check the seal on the lid. I can't tell if there are leaks or not. The first test was passed. I wanted to see how much the material was distorted by the water. They barely swelled, but they did. There is no way to hold the sides. That's another test that has been passed. The first complaint is to check the cap with the value for the water. When you try to open or close the value, the spout turns. I believe the spout can be tightened in the correct location. It means removing the cap is necessary. Something is mentioned but it is not a big deal. The cap size and thread pitch are not on the same side. It could be a problem trying to find a replacement part if something happened to them. I bought two of these containers for the water system. One for fresh and one for gray water. I think they should be fine for my purpose. The dimensions and size were very close to what I was looking for. These are stout and short on the tall side. There is plenty of room under the sink bowl for the plumbing and more storage area for pots and pans. There is a I would buy them again if needed.

👤I've tried many companies and people who carry this water container. The flower Spigot has a white stem. I only got what is shown in the picture twice. I have been sent the wrong spigot six times. They keep sending the spigot no matter who you buy from. If you buy a blue round spigot with a white square stem, it will hurt. I don't want to buy this container anymore because they don't send the right spigot. The two that I kept with the blue flowered spigot are the only ones that still leak. They went from a good spigot to a bad one.

👤We can put men on the moon, but we can't create a leak-proof water jug and dispensers. I filled it up, put the lid on, and then looked at it to see if it leaked. It came from the air inlet. You could design out the leaking air inlet by cracking the big lid. I know that most of the time the container won't be on the top but it will leak when lying on its side. Close but not leakproof. I need to check the spigot. Initial results look good, but time will tell.

👤It was filled with water and screwed on the cap as hard as possible, but it still leaks crazy despite being advertised as leakproof.

👤I bought two different jugs, one at 4 gallons and the other at 5 gallons. A gallon makes a difference. The jug was a lot easier to move around the campsite than the one in the truck bed because it was in a better shape. The spigot had to be tightened, but once I got it all aligned, it worked fine. The twist valve is much easier to operate than a flip valve. I'm buying a second one. I don't have to handle the jug.

👤It was difficult to initially clean but a good saver.

👤Four of the containers leaked when I bought them.

👤I bought 4 of them and one is missing the spout. How careless of them to just throw this in my order.

👤It's great to have water for an emergency.

👤The first one was opened and the drain fitting was broken, the second one was filled and it leaked. These can't be trusted because they aren't bothering with the other ones.

👤Some of them are leaking.

👤I haven't used them yet, but they look sturdy and easy to carry.

👤Very easy to carry. The carry case is nice. Attach it with a carabiner. I have it in my bag and will be buying more. I also used the item. It was used in a dirty puddle to get clean drinking water. It's an absolute must have for everyone.

👤I thought it had been caught but it wasn't. I spent twice as much as I needed to get my son the camoflauge one.

👤I bought this for my son and he loves it. He hasn't had the chance to use it yet because it's more of an emergency device.

👤I got it for my son as a gift, but he hasn't opened it yet, but it was bigger than I expected, and it looked good. Wait until he opens it and tries it out.

👤A great present for a survivalist. It works well, easy to pack, and very useful.

👤It is easy to carry in a pack.

There is a five-year warranty against manufacturer's defects.

Brand: Reliance Products

👤I'll be careful with it, but it makes the water level visible at the lines marked on the side. The lack of a seal on the spigot is my main gripe. Everybody says the spigots leak. I've seen other water carrier spigots on the market, but what do they do now? There is a nice thick rubber gasket seal in the cap. Cool, that won't leak. The surfaces on the cap and the base of the threads match up nicely. It was designed to have an o-ring there. I went to the hardware store to match it up because I knew it would be a leak point. It was a perfect fit. I put it on the side with the spigot pointing down, not a single drop in an hour. It was 47 cents, your local hardware store may be cheaper, and a bulk order for someone mass producing water carriers would surely get them cheaper. Not for the weak people, 56 lbs of water was filled up. A 5 gallon carrier is 40 lbs more than it sounds. I think the thin plastic will be fine if it doesn't get dropped or knocked around too much.

👤They all leaked at corners. 2 nozzles wouldn't work without leaking. One of mine leaked when we were desperately filling water containers as a Hurricane bore down on us. We would have been in deep trouble if we depended on these for water storage. We had to find and fill jugs. I didn't leak. I bought them for the situation I was in and they failed. The product is a complete and dangerously unusable product. They should stop selling this stuff. Don't buy!

👤I used mine for less than a year and it started to leak. It wasn't stored for long in the sun. These jugs are small. I've been using Reliance products for a long time, and the jugs used to be taller, and they used to last a long time.

👤I bought 8 of these containers. I use 4 for storing salt water for water changes in my aquarium and the other 4 for emergencies, so that we can stock up on fresh water if needed. The containers come with a spigot that can be used to screw into the cap from either the inside or outside. You would put it on the outside. It's possible to screw it on the inside for storing water. The containers are built to interlock with each other. STACK THEM when they are vulnerable. The container could weigh more than 60 pounds. The container would be damaged by the weight. I got a heavy duty cart from Sears that can hold 500 pounds and I can roll the containers around the house for water changes. I don't need a spigot for the containers that I use for water changes. It could be submerged in the water if it is kept on the inside. I'd rather not do that. It will collect dust if it is kept screwed to the outside. I replaced the spigots with threaded plugs. They can either be screwed inside or outside. The threaded part protrudes from the container if it is screwed on the outside. I decided to keep the label on the outside and screw the plug on the inside to make it a dust cover. If you use these plugs, wrap them with Teflon tape. Carefully screw it in so that you don't lose the threads. If the container was on the other side, make the plug tight enough so water won't leak out. There are other water storage containers that are smaller and can be emptied when full. The shipping to Hawaii made it impossible for those with the stacking capability. It was more than the container. These containers should fit my purpose.

11. Liter Heavy Duty Water Container

The impact resistant water can is designed and produced to military specifications. 13 1/2” L x 6 1/2” W x 19” H is the water canDIMENSIONS. Scepter products have been synonymous with best-in-class portable fuel and water containers for over 70 years. Universal Fit is the type of fit. Universal Fit is the type of fit.

Brand: Scepter

👤All of my Scepter cans have a Canada stamp on them. There is another picture attached. I am not sure if they have changed anything.

👤I've watched troops throw these off the back of vehicles filled with water. I've seen a bored young Marine or Soldier get abused in a number of ways. These water containers are the closest thing to being made of unobtainium that is available on Amazon. I think our military could find a way to break or get an anvil pregnant before they could destroy one of these. This is the container you need to store water in. If you take care of the water and don't leave it in it for months at a time, they don't impart any weird flavor on it.

👤This unit is brand new from Sceptor Canada. I like the Canadian ones because they don't say "Property of the US government". I am not sure when they will want the back. There is one little note. The cap is not needed because the can has a viton o ring installed. The design of the cap can cause it to seal well. If you get a leaker. Pull the o ring out and try a leak check again.

👤I was excited to use the container for camping. The container did not lay on its side when I received it. The spigot at the trajectory in which it pours would be the easiest way to pour water out of the container. The container topples over because it is so rounded. Standing upright is the only way to use this container. There is no mention that the container is not flat on its side. The shipping label was provided by the seller, but shipping costs weren't covered. It costs $10 more to send this back via USPS. I cannot return because I have a huge water jug. There was no way for the seller to know about this concern.

👤I got a Scepter for the first time and then an unknown brand for the second time. This is the third time that a Scepter has been used. I am happy if I receive a Scepter. I was had by AMAZON in the other event.

👤30 years ago, I last drank water from one of these. Same sturdy plastic material, can't remember if the GI issue was a thicker plastic or just more beat up. The 5 gallon Jerry Cans are made to be transported standing up. They will take the abuse. We did not try to get these to fail. No taste to the water. There were no issues opening them up. It's definitely worth it to add it to your storm preparations. They are available in OG green and Tan/Desert colors, but they are also labeled on the sides in liters. The plastic is not completely smooth but I have not experienced any problems with it. A must have. The main opening of the cap has a small valve. They sell a wrench in case they get stuck. I never had that happen in the past. The weight may be an issue for children or arthritic hands.
