The filters treat up to 2,000 liters of water and each tab treats 2 quarts. The pump is 7.5 x 2.75 inches and weighs 1 pound.

Brand: Msr

👤The filter worked well on my trip. The water tasted like water from my reverse osmosis system at home. It works well with a wide mouth water bottle. I have a 32 ounce nagelene and a 24 ounce one under armor and they both attach to it. After my first few bottles were filled, it was a slow process. I got the water from northern Lake Michigan. All in all worked well.

👤I have bought at least 5 of them. I still have my original one, almost 20 years later. We bought this one for our oldest. The best filter. It's reasonable on price. This is the one for a manual water filter.

👤Provides clean water. The only downside is that you have to clean the filter every quarter of a gallon. We had a day's worth of drinking water in less than an hour after waiting for the chlorine tabs.

👤My son recommended it to us. It's easy to use in the stream. The bottles were bought to attach. The hose is long enough.

👤I have used this product on many fishing trips in Canada. Works well!

👤If you pump from clear water, this thing will pump faster than 1L per minute. It tastes great, it is small, and it is easy to clean. If you're looking for a filter, this one is for you.

👤backpacking used This system saved us when we ran out of water.

👤Customer service is very helpful.

👤D'une grosseur et fonctionne super.

2. MSR TrailShot Pocket Sized Emergency Preparedness

MSR TrailShot Pocket Sized Emergency Preparedness

Emergency Preparedness. The replaceable purifier is good for 65 gallons. It's perfect for home or car prep. You are prepared for any disaster, water emergency, or survival situation. The water filter is small enough to fit in a pocket and cleans water on-the-go. One-handed operation filters one liter in 60 seconds, so you can drink directly from the source or fill a hydration pack. It's small and light, it's 888-282-0465, and it fits in a pocket for trail runners, hikers, and mountain bikers. Water can pass through but it can be trapped by harmful organisms, like giardia. It filters up to 2,000 liters without chlorine or other chemicals.

Brand: Msr

👤The Great Divide Mountain Bike Ride is a long ride. The first time it worked, as advertised, it was 1 liter per minute. Things got worse after the first pumping. It took too long and was difficult after three days. Even with tap water, I tried backflushing. I used my backup Sawyer Mini the rest of the trip. One of my riding mates had some issues with him.

👤The filter was one of the most intriguing items from the new releases. They overstated its weight. The real weight is 4.90oz, as seen in the picture. It's a better option than the Sawyer Mini because of its fast flow rate, and it took me 10 min to fill a water bottle. I have not tried the Sawyer Squeeze, but I would think it is the most comparable in terms of weight and function. Since it has a pre-filter, theMSR can be backflushed without a needle. I haven't personally used the squeeze but I have seen videos and it seems like it's a good addition to the Squeeze as the top tier of backpacking filters. The Squeeze can be used on a water bottle, as it can be turned into a gravity filter. If you plan to simply and quickly put water in a container, theMSR is a more compact package than the Squeeze/dirty bag/syringe. Both seem to be great products. There are ways to backflush using a specific sport bottle cap if you get a Squeeze. The hand pump and the end-prefilter can be detached from the cord. The paper used for the filter is water resistant and is easy to bring with you if you choose. I will post a pic of the manual. The ripped edge is because I removed the other languages. To backflush, use the hand pump until the pump area is half full, shake vigorously, and squeeze the water out of the back. Re-attach the cord. It is very easy and works well. Not much more to say. It is easy to use and clean. Very happy.

👤Two years ago, I and a friend bought one of these filters, because we started getting a lot of advertising on YouTube. It is a great concept but delivery is not there yet. It is easy to use and clean in the field. After a couple uses, the flow rate goes downhill. I would have had it if it was me, but my friend and I purchased our filters from different sources. Both of them were from Bass Pro Shop. We both found that we were having to pump until our hands were small to get half a liter, while someone else with a Sawyer Squeeze would start on their second liter bottle. The flow rate did not improve after we cleaned the filter and checked the pre filter. I usually don't rate my camping gear but this one was an expensive disappointment. Save money. There are better alternatives that cost less.

👤I swore by the Katadyn Hiker filter. This is the new go-to filter for me. I used this on a backpacking trip. It never stopped. I can get a liter of water out of the pack pocket in about a minute. This is much faster than a pump-type filter, and it weighs less. It doesn't seem to get harder to pump over the week.

3. Purifier Replaceable Portable Emergency Survival

Purifier Replaceable Portable Emergency Survival

There is a carry bag with detailed instruction manual, tubing, hose clip, and advanced filters. Their water purification system works without electricity and will turn water into clean and potable water in a matter of minutes. It can deliver water to meet your water needs.

Brand: Purewell

👤We had more water than we could have packed in for backpacking, because we camped by Lake Michigan. None of us got sick. The cleaning process is easy. If the water is more clear, rubberbanding a coffee filter over the prefilter will make it easier to get gunked up by sand. The tubes are unwieldy and we needed someone to hold them while someone else pumped.

👤I like how easy it is to use when you're in the deep woods. Before using, rinse several times.

👤It is easy to use, wish the hose connections to the unit were tighter, but otherwise it works great and the flavor is clean.

👤It's great for camping or emergency use.

👤I haven't tried it yet. If all works like it should, it should.

👤If you were Superman, you would find this product useful. The flow rate is not advertised because the pump requires a lot of strength. Imagine a bench pressing for five minutes to get some water. I think I was sweating out while using the product. Why the compass? I will equip them with a water filter so they can use it for navigation.

👤It's a great water filter for outdoor adventures.

4. Ginkin 5 Stage Portable Emergency Survival

Ginkin 5 Stage Portable Emergency Survival

This water pump hiking is perfect for hiking, camping, domestic and international travel, emergency, etc. They will try their best to make it right if you have any problems during use.

Brand: Ginkin

👤I should have tried this before I left, it was my first mistake. I tried for over an hour to get this filter to work, but it wouldn't pump. The handle was so hard to move that I couldn't do anything. It seems very cheap. Do yourself a favor and get a Sawyer Squeeze instead.

👤The Ginkin water filter is very sturdy and user-friendly. It can hold up to 793 gallons of water. Emergency filters work by drawing water through them using your mouth, and it also uses a hand pump. Some people can't use the straw filters because of health issues. I bought two of the Ginkin water filters after seeing how many people were cut off from clean water during the cold snap in Texas. The recent hacking of a Florida water system and attempts to increase the levels of lye to toxic levels made me pay attention. People don't realize that their utility services can be lost in an instant, whether from natural disasters or bad actors.

👤It was perfect for what I needed. It's large enough to hold a good volume of water but still small enough to fit into a bag where space is at a premium. The collapsible water container that came with the quality seems very good.

👤It was well-packaged in the picture. I can see that each piece is made well. I'm going on my first backpacking trip with a friend this spring. I find it a little intimidating to put all the pieces together, but that's just my lack of experience. I'm nervous about my first backpacking trip. I hope this thing will save me. I'll report back on its performance if I come back alive. I wish me luck.

👤I'm happy I bought this water filter. I'm using it for emergencies, but I'm happy with it so far, even though I used it to see if it worked. You can't beat the price.

👤I tried on water from a stream. No bad tastes of water. It was not easy.

👤A great filter. There was no funny taste. Light and compact. Would buy again.

5. DROP65 Portable Outdoors Emergency Preparation

DROP65 Portable Outdoors Emergency Preparation

The Sawyer MINI filter is rated up to 100,000 gallons. If you're isolated at home in a storm or hurricanes, you should use this multi-stage filter pump. Use at home, fill the sink, bucket or bowl from your water tank or tap, and use the filter to make it safe to drink. It is easy to rate. It has a soft rubber base and grip to help hold it steady. Heavy metals such as lead, rust, and suspended solids can be removed with improved taste. It's perfect for drinking and cooking. Brand: Drop65

👤The Drop65 pump purification system is a genius. The kit has floats to keep the hose out of the water. Fresh drinking water is delicious because of the smooth pump action. The ultimate survival tool is a compass and drinking cup lid. I was skeptical until I used it at the shore of a muddy river. The result was better than I had expected. I drank the water I'd had for decades. This is an outstanding value for money.

6. Platypus GravityWorks High Capacity Emergency Preparedness

Platypus GravityWorks High Capacity Emergency Preparedness

We are so confident that you will love your canteens that they will stand behind them with a Lifetime Warranty. The hollow-fiber water filter system is ideal for camping and outdoor adventures. The EPA/NSF guidelines for removal of 99.9999% ofbacteria and 99% ofparasites include giardia. The four liters of water can be delivered in 2.5 minutes by hanging from a tree and filling the reservoir. Includes a storage sack, dirty water reservoir, clean water reservoir, hollow-fiber microfilter, hoses, and shutoff clamps. The replacement filters have a flow rate of 1.75 liters/minute and are made in the USA.

Brand: Platypus

👤It's incredibly handy. I did a lot of research before buying this. The fact that you can get a lot of water in one shot, and the fact that it filters fast, sold me on this. No pumping! This is a no-brainer if you're backpacking. Bringing water on a multi-day trip is not an option because water is too heavy for an adult to drink. This is less than a pound. It can save you money in the long run. If you're buying gallons of water from the store that will cost you $350-$400, the filter lasts for 1500 liters. If you fill from the tap, this will save you space and allow you to use less water. If you need to use water for cooking or fill a Camelbak bladder, you'll need a filter that is capable of filtering more water. The storage bags and tubing are of the highest quality. The hoses are long so you can hang the dirty bag from a branch or just hang the clean bag from a lower branch. You can detach the hose from the clean side of the filter and hang the bag as shown in the picture. Want to get the most out of a single trip to the water source? You can get 8 liters in one shot. Just fill the dirty bag and wait for it to be cleaned. The clean bag should be removed from the hose and the screw cap put on it. You've got 4 liters ready to go and another 4 that can be quickly filters if you put the dirty bag up again. That's 2.1 gallons in one trip. When the dirty bag is almost finished, you can backflush it for about 5 seconds and then discard the water in the dirty bag. Add 2 liters of clean water to the dirty bag, add a couple drops of bleach, and filter it through. You can towel dry the dirty bag, but the clean bag needs to be hung for a few days in a dry place. The filters can be dried out by removing the bumpers and plastic end pieces. If the temperature drops below 32F (0C), the filter will damage it, so it cannot be dropped or used. To test the integrity of the filter, blow air backwards through it. If there are bubbles on the other side, the filter is broken. I am very happy with my purchase of this filter. I hope this review helped you.

👤I have always been a "pump" guy when it came to filters. I bought this one after using it on a trip with friends who had section hiked the whole AT. They didn't bother with the bag. They only had the dirty bag. It makes sense for a small group to only carry the dirty bag. The clean bag makes sense for a group of 6-10. It allowed us to hang up the clean bag so that we could use it for cooking and washing. Why not 5 stars? The clean bag and the dirty bag would be better if the bottom corner was removed. It would be easier to empty the clean bag. - The water flow was stopped by a useful piece of equipment. I would have liked to have one on the clean side and one on the dirty side. When the clean bag is disconnected, that would allow me to shut off the flow from the dirty side. I would rather not have to do it in certain circumstances, like removing the dirty hose from the dirty bag. This is not a purifier. It does not handle viruses. It is fine for most surface water in the US. I would use a secondary chemical treatment if I was worried about viruses.

7. MSR MiniWorks Microfilter Water Filter

MSR MiniWorks Microfilter Water Filter

The replacement filters have a flow rate of 1.75 liters/minute and are made in the USA. Water filters for hiking, backpacking, camping, travel, survival, and emergency preparedness. The replaceable carbon and ceramic filters removebacteria, protozoa, organic compounds, and particulate, delivering clean, taste and odor-free water. The hydration bladders are compatible with a variety of wide mouth water bottles. One replaceable filter is needed to treat up to 2,000 liters of water. The pump is 7.5 x 2.75 inches and weighs 1 pound.

Brand: Msr

👤I hiked for 6 weeks in the mountains. The water was clean to begin with, however, the unit can get stuck in the mud and you have to scrub the ceramic unit with a green pad. After a few liters of water, it will start working again. It is hard to use. If you're giving water to two people on a backpacking trip, your arms are going to get a workout along with your legs. After hiking for two weeks and using chemical tablets for the rest of the trip, I shipped the filter back to myself. It would be fine for a short backpacking trip, but for long distances it will get old very quickly. People who have broken their filters are doing it wrong. If it's hard to pump the water then you need to clean it or break it. I didn't think I was going to break it.

👤I bought this filter for a backpacking trip. I knew this was a good quality item, having worked with it before. The cleanable ceramic filter has a huge advantage over the Katadyn. It does have a couple of drawbacks, but it's clean and it's drinkable. The biggest one is that the filter has a tendency to build up pressure inside the chamber, slowing the water per pump down to a crawl. The Katadyn Hiker averaged four nalgenes for every two theMSR squeezed out, in a mountain river that was almost free of sediment. I wish the pressure wasn't an issue for upwards of eighty dollars. I don't mind spending a couple of extra minutes by the water because myMSR performed its duty just fine. This isn't the filter for you if you're more focused on filters as fast as possible rather than smelling the roses. This filter's saving grace is that it is insured to be able to clean it, rather than just hope it doesn't get stuck in the snow.

👤The reviews made me purchase the filter. The reviews were positive and there were a few that suggested problems. My first day at Kidder lake in the Marble Mountains, I worked at home for about an hour after the initial flush. The water was clear. It took me 1/2 liter to pump 3 liters from my friend's pump. The gasket is blown by the pump. No dice, cleaning per the instructions. We had a second filter on the trip. When I got home, I returned the faulty filter. There are other reviews that say this could be a problem. If you are heading into the wilderness, be careful.

👤I bought it to complement my backpacking gear. As I get older the weight factor is becoming more important than carrying the water in my weekend adventures. I conducted a test to see how the water would be like in the Southern states, following the manufacturer's recommendation to reduce the amount of silt in the system. When using a coffee paper filter to cover the intake part, it was easy to pump the water into the system. The water was a little smelly after the first filter. The second process produced a clear result without the smell. The water was ready for consumption when I drank from the second glass. I will use a small purification system for my peace of mind, even though the system fulfilled the purpose.

8. Miniwell Gravity Purifier Emergency Prepardness

Miniwell Gravity Purifier Emergency Prepardness

Their water purification system works without electricity and will turn water into clean and potable water quickly. It can deliver water to meet your water needs. Automatic filtraition is done using gravity. The whole system can be connected. Walk away from the tree and fill the water reservoir. The PP Screen can stop large particles from entering the filter. The risk of contracting illnesses is reduced by the second stage of the 0.1micron UF Membrane. The Carbon Fiber Filter improves the taste of water. Fresh water is like bottled water. Water quality is what determines the replacement of the water filters. Save money for the future. The slidelock design has a wide-mouth opening for fast, easy filling. Reliable result: testing reports. There is a 100% money back guarantee on purchases with conviction.

Brand: Miniwell

👤It was backpacking for 32 miles on the Colorado trail. I was pleased with this product. The gravity flow system works well, the filter can do 3 liters of water in less than a minute, and it is well made. Looks like it will hold up. The only negative is that the hose is not as flexible as surgical tubing, so it can twist and not pack tightly. I am happy with the system.

👤Product arrived on time. Excited to try it! The package was well protected. It looks like it is as advertised. This will be used in our annual boundary waters trip. We hope to use this part of the trip for a long time.

👤We bought this as part of our bags. It was used to make sure it worked well. It worked well. It doesn't fit all the way in the carry bag. It sticks out about an inch. I have a waterproof bag that fits perfectly. Awesome product. We bought more bags for powdered milk and juices. I may buy a third one as there are 13 of us.

👤It needs to be at a specific angle to drain. It moves very slowly if it is off a little. It's necessary to be checked on every once in a while. It fills the bag in about 5 minutes when it's working well.

👤When fishing in remote places, hubby loves having this on his camping trips.

👤It is good to have this in the event of an emergency.

👤The concept and piece is great, but the cap is hard to replace, so we can't use it right now.

👤It was easy to set up. You can drink it from the source, store it, or even screw it into a water bottle. It's ideal for backpacking.

👤We tried it on water sources. None of the streams came out clear, one was a freely flowing stream and the other was from a creek. The water will always come out as the same color as it came in before the filter was put in.

👤I tried it out on my hike yesterday. I loved it.

9. LifeStraw Multi Function Filtration Emergency Preparedness

LifeStraw Multi Function Filtration Emergency Preparedness

Widespread use with guarantee. The survival tactical shovel is a very special gift for men and women. A survival shovel kit is a must have for every vehicle. If you have any questions about their products, please contact them through Amazon, they will be happy to help you out within 24 hours. The LifeStraw Personal filter can be used as a straw filter or inline with a soft touch water bottle. Attaches easily to hydration pack bladders and gravity filters, or just screw it onto a disposable water bottle. The Advanced hollow fiber membrane removes 99% of waterbornebacteria and 99% of waterborne protozoan parasites, which exceeds the EPA drinking water standards. Carbon capsule reduces chlorine, lead and other heavy metals, bad taste and odor, as well as organic chemical matter like pesticides, herbicides, and VOCs. The system includes a Flex water filter, a collapsible soft touch water bottle, and a backwash syringe.

Brand: Lifestraw

👤I received it and have begun experimenting with it. The LifeStraw could be a five-star product by itself. There are two design problems with the FLEX part. The problem is when you squeeze the bottle, the water comes out of the threads on the top of the bottle. If you want to squeeze the dirty water out of your mouth, it is possible to hold the filter top so that the water goes into a cup. Problem 2: Once the water is squeezed past the Lifestraw, you can't squeeze out any more water. You have to open the flexible bottle to get the straw to fit. If you could squeeze out the rest of the water, you wouldn't need to do this because you wouldn't have to taint the top of the straw with your mouth germs. You get 11 ounces of water with dripping. Half of the group traded spit with a shaky flexible bottle and a filter top. It's hard to share water with a traveling companion, which is why I paid an extra price for the LifeStraw with Flex bottle. The flex bottle is just an accessory. I plan to use a liquid to clean the cap and filter top.

👤I have never written a review for an Amazon purchase. I have an account since 2011. I've bought many products that I don't care for, but I haven't written a review. The concept of this is very good. I followed the directions to back flush the filter but was only able to fill my bladder with tap water twice because the white membrane filter was completely restricted. It's fine if you want to blow 35 dollars for emergency and let it go and purchase another one the next time, but don't expect it to last 250 gallons or whatever it says. It's a survival tool solution that will last 2 days. That's all.

👤Not as good as the sawyer mini. The bottle comes with problems. There is a loose fit around the upper threads. You will get dirty water from the area you are drinking from. The flow rate is slower than the sawyer mini. The carbon part of the filter can reduce the taste of plastic by a small amount. If you still want this product, you'll need to ditch the bottle and find something else to drink.

👤Lifestraw does not respond to emails about Customer Service because the bag has a pin hole.

👤I followed all the instructions, but could not get any water to come through it. We only used the sawyer since it wouldn't work.

👤The backpacking filter is really nice. Better tasting water is what you get from a similar filter. It's about as fast as trying to squeeze it through, because I set it up as a gravity system. I'm not using the included bottle as it doesn't make sense in any application that I can think of, but a soft Evernew, sawyer or platypus works great as a "dirty" water container. I hope they start selling the carbon replacement.

10. Sawyer Products SP2101 Filtration System

Sawyer Products SP2101 Filtration System

All manufacturing and other defects are covered by their lifetime warranty. It's ideal for outdoor recreation, hiking, camping, scouting, domestic and international travel. 100% of MINI units individually tested three times to performance standards were tested with the high-performance 0.1 micron absolute inline filter. Attaches to hydration packs, disposable water bottles, or straws to drink directly from your water source. The removal of allbacteria and the removal of all protozoa removes 100% of microplastics. Two Sawyer MINI filters, two 16-ounce squeeze pouches, two 7-inch drinking straws, and two cleaning plungers are included.

Brand: Sawyer Products

👤The two pack for my twins was ordered because they were recommended by several sources. We were excited to use them on our trip because they were lightweight and solid. The boys had to abandon their trip due to the lack of ability to filter water after they filled up the plastic pouch for the first time. We returned the Minis because they were so disappointed, and we will keep looking for a lightweight filter that will last.

👤The key selling feature was the compatibility with Smart Water bottles. I bought the Minu two-pack off Amazon, and the first one I opened was not close to the threads of standard water bottles. I got a new Mini at Walmart and it had the correct thread. I am not sure how you can tell what thread pitch you will get.

👤I got two for my section hike. I'm glad I got 2. One failed on the third day. The washer on the dirty side failed and would leak dirty water when squeezed. I would like to return. I wasn't going to leave a broken filter at a camp ground. Get more bags. Ours was leaking. I didn't get sick because of the quality of the filters.

👤These little guys seem to work well and are portable. They don't survive well in storage after being used once. I've had 4 of these be useless after they've been stored. I only ever backflush the mountain creek water with softened and reverse osmosis-filtered water after a trip. It's not usable when I test it for the next trip. If it doesn't flow, it will require much more squeezing force. I don't know how to store them better than buying distilled water, and it seems wasteful to keep buying them if they are going to fail. The first squeeze bag was a lot thicker than the newer one. The newer ones blow apart at a seam.

👤When drinking from outside water sources, it has an amazing taste. Good flow rate, easy to use bag, super easy to use. Not rated for removal of chemicals or metals from the water, but no illness after drinking from a stream in a wildlife-laden area. I would like to be able to leave the water in the car when not in use in the winter because it is difficult to clean out the remaining water in the filter.

👤We moved to a house with a well last year. Our well water gets a little cloudy when we get a lot of rain. We have had it tested multiple times and it is safe to drink but the cloudiness is not appealing so we have started to filter. The water came out cloudy despite using a Big Berkey. Even with 4 primed filters and a process to clean and backwash, it's slow. We were buying gallons of water and it was getting expensive. We woke up to cloudy water after a big storm yesterday. I put a squeeze bag full of it in the mini sawyer and it came out the other side crystal clear. I am very happy with this little, easy to use filter. I emptied the top of the fridge and filled it with jars of water. I bought them for hiking and travel, but we will use them at home too. They will pay for themselves many times over when compared to the amount of water they purchase. 5 stars for sure!

11. SimPure Portable Purifier Gravity Fed Emergency

SimPure Portable Purifier Gravity Fed Emergency

The water filter is long lasting with back-flushing filter, durable survival straw, and robust construction body. There is a note here. If you want to purchase a MoKo official filter replacement, please use the search box. The included filter can be used in many different ways. Add a 29.5-inch extension tube for more distance drinking, or use as a personal water filter. You can connect onto a water bottle. The water purification camping has a lifespan of 5,000 liters (1320 gallons) for a family of four uses up to 3.5 years. It won't slow you down when you're trying to make miles. The water filter camping made up of 0.1-micron hollow fiber ultrafiltration, 5-micron coconut shell GAC filter, and 0.2-micron PP fiber filter removes over 99% bact, heavy metal, chlorine, odors, and micro-plastics. It's easy to use and lightweight, and it's hands-free, so you don't have to pump or squeeze water. The gravity water filter can be rolled up to save space in your backpack. The materials used in the camping water filter are food-grade, FDA certificated, and no chemicals are used to filter the water. You can get enough reliable pure water with the 3L gravity-fed bag. It's ideal for backpacking, camping, or just keeping on hand for emergencies.

Brand: Simpure

👤I was surprised. I thought the water would be bland, but it tasted great. It's better to have water out of a tap. I can't get to the seller in time for my review to be updated. The fter is not working after two uses. I've tried blowing air and drawing air to no avail. It isn't covered with mud or silt. The fibers have just expanded to the point of obstruction, and the seller got in touch to let me know a replacement filter was not a problem. I should have it very soon. Customer service is great.

👤I used it to remove the bladder from the included one as well as sucking the water through the straw. Both worked well. It took about 7 minutes to gravity filter 2.5 liters. It takes a bit of effort to get it through the straw, but once it starts, it's pretty consistent. It would be great if the hose was longer to make it easier to sip from it on the go. The hose is short compared to a camel bladder.

👤I haven't tried the gravity bag yet, but I have some red flags. 1. The product doesn't have the words Waki on it. 2. The same product and images are used by another company. 3. The product seems to be for a bottle of water, but I bought a straw and gravity bag. I fear using this in a real life situation because I don't want it to be a fake.

👤If you have used these before, you know what you are dealing with. If you are already on your camp out and find you have no water, you are up for a surprise. Irepped this thing at home. The flow is so bad that I only got a small sip. If you are camping, this will not provide enough water. You will die. I have spoken with other campers and they all agree. The purification tablets are for sale.

👤I drank out of a lake and a river and there were no problems. Water tasted great and I didn't get sick, what more could you ask for?

👤We had to get one to treat the water at our hunting camp because we saw this on the Wooded Beardsman's YouTube channel. Our camp's water comes out of the ground into a collector, then it overflows into a reservoir, before traveling by pipe into the camp. The water should be pure, but you never know if something has died in the water source or in the collector. We hang the bag on a nail and let gravity do all the work. I've heard that pressing the bag will help it move faster, but we just let it do its own thing. The bag has a handle that can be slid on and off. The most important thing to remember is to remove the air bubbles from the tube so the water flows well. The air will be removed when the tube is tapped and squeezed. The water is clear and odorless. It's a must for anyone who has time to purify water.
