1. Augason Farms 2 Week 1 Person Emergency

Augason Farms 2 Week 1 Person Emergency

Excellent gift for your friends, kids or anyone in your life. There are survival tips inside for you and your family. 25,600 total calories per day. It's easy to prepare. Just add some water. A 25 year shelf life is possible.

Brand: Augason Farms

👤I feel like what you get is over priced. I have vacuumed more than this contains for a quarter of the price. Don't be lazy. There is not a lot of food in this box.

👤Quite disappointed. Fettuccine and milk sub were good. I could not stomach anything else. It was bad tasting food for most of the time. Everything is compromised of pasta and soup. Extreme rip-off! The company is taking advantage of people. Go clear. Don't buy! You can get a bunch of pasta and soup at Walmart. You can get the same thing at Walmart for a fraction of the cost. There is a I would slap the taste out of their mouths if they were in front of me. Thank you.

👤The survival kit has a good value. I can't review the food because I never plan on eating anything unless I have to. The mile, bananas, and everything else will all be gone in 25 years. I don't need milk or bananas to survive, so why not replace them with something that will last 25 years? One of my pouches had a small gash. I shook the bag and found a small amount of powder. Most of this stuff requires water to be boiled. In a survival situation, you can just add water and shovel it down. All the food and the pouches would need at least 6.5 gallons of water. That's a lot of water. I live in Minnesota, so if a tornado or snow hit, I'd have to eat emergency food. I keep the food in my storage room in the basement with no windows, in either case. I can mix the food with the water from my water heating system in case of an emergency.

👤If you were thinking that this bucket contains ready-to- eat food for two weeks, it doesn't. It requires a large cooking vessel, a heat source for cooking, and a good amount of water. You will need the following to use this kit as directed. A heat source that can cook the good for hours. A large cooking pot with six gallons of water for cooking the food in this kit. It's on me for not reading through the description and product photos more before ordering, but I'd like to point something out in case you also didn't. It's not obvious in the description that it's not easy to split packets into smaller, individual portions because some of the ingredients are clumped together until you cook them. Even though it's marketed for a single person, you'd end up making meals that include eight serving of soup or rice. My biggest issue with the family-sized packets is that they don't need to be refrigerated, but there will be a lot of leftover food, so you'd want to keep it cold. I live in southern Arizona where it's not cold enough to keep food out of the environment, so I'd either need a working refrigerator or just eat a packet of food a day. Milk and banana chips can be split into individual portions, and they don't require cooking. I've made a soup and eaten some chips. The soup will fill you up and keep you alive, but it isn't very good and doesn't have any chicken flavor. It tastes so bland because it already has a bit of salt in it. The smell was great, but the taste wasn't right. I would be happy to have it in an emergency. Assuming that I had enough fuel to boil nearly three quarts of water and then cook it for 25 minutes, and that I could safely store all of the leftovers. The banana chips are pretty good. I will never be able to verify the claim of a 25-year storage life for this bucket of food. I'm not going to be digging this out of the pantry for another round of chicken soup if I'm still alive at that point. I probably won't be updating my review if I need it sooner. The vegetable soup was a good indicator and I would say that the food is filling if not particularly good. I was hoping this would be tailored for me with smaller serving sizes given the product name, because I don't like the large packet sizes. I'm glad that I could try it, but I won't be stocking up on it.

Brand: Ready Supply Foods

👤I bought the same brand of potatoes and there was a sticker on it, but this fruit from the same brand didn't have a sticker on it, there was no date on the container. You can buy a different brand from a different seller.

3. ReadyWise Emergency Breakfast Buckets Servings

ReadyWise Emergency Breakfast Buckets Servings

It's easy to prepare in any situation, just add water, wait a few minutes and enjoy your food. The containers are easy to store and lock together so food stays safe and secure.

Brand: Readywise

👤We researched before buying food storage from Wise Company. The price for the quality and amount of food is unbeatable. Adding these to my family's emergency kit gives me great peace of mind and I hope I never have to use them. I have tasted pastas and potatoes before at a store that is more like a hunting store. They were something I could live with if I had the same. I suppose that during an end of world event, I would be able to eat any food I wanted. An after taste that wouldn't go away was the brand I tried. Wiseman products are packed in foil packets and then sealed in buckets. The packets should be okay even if something happens to the buckets. When I moved off the islands, I put off getting serious about having an emergency stash because I lived along a fault line. I got lazy because I didn't have ready access to Walmart and Costco on an Alaskan island. I finally bought these buckets because they are a serious investment. I ordered them on a Saturday. We had a 7.1 magnitude earthquake early Sunday morning. Milk stock and glass jars were lost by most stores. We couldn't drink the water for a week. It was a wake up call that we were poor and desperate. We could be on our own for up to 2 weeks because of our location to the rest of the country, and non-perishable food is essential, according to the emergency preparedness teams up here. I also bought buckets of dried fruit from Wise Company. Having these food buckets in our emergency fund gives me peace of mind that if we have to use them, we will have food to eat. You will be glad you spent the money on these when it comes to that point.

👤There was a package that wasn't sealed and there was fine powder in the bucket. We tried that meal last night and it tasted great. The rest is tucked away for a rainy day.

👤I haven't tried anything yet. I ordered it for variety in my food storage. I got three of the same bucket when the order was supposed to have two lunch buckets and one breakfast bucket. I don't want a breakfast bucket all the time, so I am okay with this. It could have been better. There are other thoights. The shipping was supposed to take 5 days, but it took almost 5 weeks. When I ordered it, I read the shipping time.

👤They sent 2 buckets and a first aid kit after I ordered 3 buckets. This is not an MRE type product. The majority of the meals are dried pasta with a powdered flavor packet. The title of the product says "emergency food", which is 124 serving per bucket. It is not clear if only 64 of those are actual meals. The orange drink mix and desserts are the rest of the 124. They don't make it clear in the fine print. The description leads you to believe that 1 serving is 1 meal. Each serving has about 200 to 250 calories. Each bucket is only enough calories for one person for a few days. Less than advertised. It is a huge ripoff. The equivalent of ramen noodles or a Knorr pasta packet is $40 a day. It makes me wonder if the 25 year shelf life is real.

4. Bear Essentials Survival Perishable Alternative

Bear Essentials Survival Perishable Alternative

A high energy value and ready to eat. Their survival supplies kit contains enough emergency food to last an adult 15 days, consuming 2,000 calories of emergency food per day, and a 20lb non-perishable food pack. Each pack of emergency supplies has undergone a stringent quality inspection. If they wouldn't consume these bulk food supplies ourselves, they wouldn't sell them. The perfect complement to your emergency preparedness items, this survival food with 25 year shelf life contains enough emergency ration to see you through any crisis situation. Their survival food kit is perfect for anyone who wants an MRE alternative, or who wants to avoid the risk of crowded grocery stores, because each box of survival essentials is a practical long term food. If you don't like their food survival kit, just let them know what the problem is and they'll do everything they can to make it right. Bear Essentials has excellent customer service and outstanding quality. If you don't like their food survival kit, just let them know what the problem is and they'll do everything they can to make it right. Bear Essentials has excellent customer service and outstanding quality.

Brand: Bear Essentials Survival

👤Not an MRE alternative. 5 large bags of dry ingredients cost more than what I could buy at the store and still require a pot and water to make. It's only useful in the ideal survival scenario. It is worthless for survival and a waste of money.

👤The bag is sealed with rice, beans, macaroni and pancake mix. It would be cheaper to buy it at the store. You need a pot and water to cook food. It is not like a MRE that you just add water and cook. The packaging is thick and seals tight. Customer service is great.

👤I was expecting a premade meal. The money was wasted.

👤It comes out to about 16 cents per 100 calories. You can't beat that. Some of it is white rice. It's in a package for 25 years. You have to replace it every couple years. I'm going to buy more. You could eat 1000 calories a day with the other 2 week supplies, but only if you had one box. Think about it. A family of 4 can have a month's supply of food for $200.

👤I bought these because I wanted to save them for a rainy day or flash flood, but I haven't opened them yet. I like the packaging, it makes it look nice to get a box of food, but I wish there was a different type of box for storage since I live in the Pacific Northwest and everything gets damp. I could put the food in a tote. The food is in a nice package. I thought it was cute that it told you when it was born. We can make it last for a while if we give a lot of serving for practical reasons. I was happy to get the emergency food and put it in a cute box. Maybe take it camping this summer.

👤It is a great price for a basic meal prep. It comes in a box that is crushed by your door. The company needs a better package after the contents were not damaged. I would buy one a month if it came better packaged. It is difficult to stack the product when the box is bulging. I'm going to buy some buckets to put it in. It seems to be good.

👤I don't buy military ration if there's no fuel or fire. This is a lot of food for a small amount of money. Having long lasting grains like this gives me some peace of mind.

👤I found that I should start just in case. The case was worth the price for a first timer. It doesn't take up much space in our limited storage and the packaging is secure, so there are no worries about anything going bad. The ingredients are straight forward and easy to make. I recommend!

5. Augason Farms 1 Week 1 Person Emergency

Augason Farms 1 Week 1 Person Emergency

There are 1, 811 calories per day and 12,700 total calories. It's easy to prepare. Just add some water. The shelf life is from 10 to 25 years.

Brand: Augason Farms

👤This is not the same as a mountain house. The sealed mylar bags have oxygen absorbers. Food takes 20 minutes to cook, which is less efficient than other options. The vegetable soup was not very good. I would eat all of this in a survival situation. serving sizes are weird, the reason I am not giving 5 stars. The instructions tell you to cook all of the dishes at once, because they come in a single package. To cook a single serving, you have to do some math. The product is billed as a weeks worth of food for one person, and I believe it should be packaged as such. It would be perfect if you bought ten of them. Mylar bags, oxygen absorbers, and bulk rice and spices are cheaper than this. If you're going to be spending a lot of money, I'd go that route. If you have access to clean water and a heat source, this is a convenient food suppy.

👤Overall happy with the product, but would like to know more about it. The item was bought for his son but he didn't know that it was in 8 packets. They were thought to be single serving packs.

👤When I opened the container, I was surprised to find large packages. I was able to seal each large package into a by meal and down size it. The taste and flavor are bland but the purpose of the product is to be used for emergencies and not a home cooked meal. It is easy to re-hydrate and will serve our purpose on our float trips. I add my own touches to our food. I would be happy to eat this in an emergency. I would recommend others to keep one hand.

👤The product description made it sound like it was a single serving. Unless you are making ten cups of soup or main dish at a time, this is not useful camping.

👤They tasted better than expected because portioning rates were weird and they had to do some math.

👤They're not single-serving. I bought it for myself so I hope the power doesn't go out and that I don't have to store leftovers or it will be a waste of money. It took 3 weeks to be delivered.

👤Quantity is not upheld. When I opened the container, I found that there were six missing packages. The food was good. I didn't have time to call the company and wait for a new box or ship the old one. I will give a review and let you know how many packages are in the box when you get it.

👤It takes a bit to get used, but in an emergency situation it will be worth it.

6. Datrex 3600 Emergency Food Bar

Datrex 3600 Emergency Food Bar

Each bar can be eaten in six portions with a total of 2400 calories. There are 18 bars with 200 calories per bar. It is packaged in a way that makes it easy to ration and store in your survival and disaster kit. All natural ingredients with superior coconut flavor. The small and lightweight is USCG approved and has a 5 year shelf life. A high energy value and ready to eat.

Brand: Stansport

👤I got the full life from my pack, which was packed in July of last year. I bought this to see if it worked out. The directions say to eat 1 bar every 6 hours at sea and 4 hours on land. It's 4 bars per day since you won't be awake for 24 hours. You could go 4 days on that metric. I only had 3 bars on my first day. It's possible to go for 5 days. I only ate 25% of my normal intake, so I felt weaker throughout the day. I have a very physically demanding job. It's a good test to me. The bars are wrapped. They look like someone crushed a bunch of dog biscuits and compressed them into a bar that was three times as thick. The individual wrappers are not sealed. They are hard to unwrap, and you will have to break the bar into pieces to open it. The bar is very brittle and can easily fall. It's basically the same flavor as a slightly old graham cracker. You could put it on a cheese cake. If you drink a little water with it, you can have it in your mouth for a while.

👤The portable calories are waterproof. Perfect emergency food. There were no strong reactions among the people I've had try them. These are supposed to be coconut flavor, but I didn't like it at all, they taste like a graham cracker. It's a good thing that these are easy to eat for people with poor or no teeth as the texture is very crumbly. Emergency ration should be easy to eat and neutral. If you need to bust into these, there's no reason you should have to eat terrible food because the situation is already bad. They're not good enough for anyone to get into them without a need. Not good for frivolous snacking. When you last heard someone say "I'm craving some emergency ration!" Nope, me not. It helps if you aren't really good at making sure they're there when you need them. The outer package is easy to open, but the inner plastic shrink wrap on the individual bars was difficult to open. It is doable, but a knife or sharp object will make it easier. They made good s'mores. The leftovers from the tester packages were not as good as normal crackers, but we had to find something to do with them.

👤I haven't tried them yet because I purchased them for shelf storage. I only bought one pack because I wanted to try them, but my husband said no. My review is based on the packaging. I bought them on 4-13-2017. The manufacturing date is 9-15, and only just now been noticed. These are 1.5 years old. I know they have 3 years left on them, but when I asked the seller about the shelf life, he said they have a 5 year shelf life. All of our stock is new. I'm not happy that I'm losing shelf life, but I only paid $9 for them. I'm not going to complain to the company and have no plans to return them, but just be aware that when you receive them, they may not have 5 years of shelf storage left. The package was vacuum sealed and arrived quickly. The instructions are printed on them at sea and land. I don't have to worry about remembering. There are drinking water tips in emergency situations. I'll update my review if I can convince the husband to open them. If it had full shelf life, I would have given it 4 stars.

7. Rations Emergency Calorie Food Cinnamon

Rations Emergency Calorie Food Cinnamon

Each packet contains 9 food bars. The Coast Guard was approved for 5 years shelf life. The country of origin is the United States. It is designed to sustain life until rescue or additional food is available. It is designed to sustain life until rescue or additional food is available.

Brand: Sos Food Labs, Inc.

👤A lot of people think these are not healthy. These are survival bars. They have a high calories to weight ratio and are shelf stable. I like the packaging, it's very air/water tight, and they taste good, I'd be happy to have something sweet in a survival situation. Health food can be found elsewhere.

👤These are not healthy. These are bars for survival. If lost on a hike, patriot sells them in bulk for 100 bucks for 30 days. The lemon taste of the other bars made me buy these. We didn't buy for taste, but to survive. My show ends on 3/25. The seal was fresh and strong. See my picture.

👤The coconut and cinnamon sos bars are small, but they have a good taste. I'm doing a challenge to eat sos bars. I would give it a try for an emergency situation, you never know when you might be in a tight spot.

👤There are 31 grams of sugar. Palm oil, Corn starch, wheat flour... I was looking for a bar with a lot of calories. These have toxic ingredients. Had to throw them out. It's SIGH!

👤I would never have bought these bars if I had known the high sugar content.

👤I opened one of the packages and it was great. The ration bars inside each pouch are sealed individually and kept fresh for days after opening the outer cover. It was weeks, actually. I put them in a container. I only used four bars over the last two weeks. That's using some for at least 4 breakfast smoothies and a couple of small snacks. A quarter of a bar makes a great snack, and I've added that same amount, all crumbled, to smoothies with fruit, yogurt, icewater, instant coffee, and it's great stuff! A quarter-bar is only about 62.5 calories, so it was a good time to get some first aid classes. I'm back in Coastal VA and I want to be prepared for the local disasters. I ordered the S.O.S. Rations double pack. Yes, COCONUT. The packages arrived quickly. It's all I can do. Oh, yeah, with it. I'm going to order more as soon as I finish this review. Great stuff, whether you want it for dessert or an emergency. I'm going to open a bottle of chianti and watch C-span.

👤Why are there so many people complaining about the taste and sugar content? These bars are used if you get lost in the forest. These are not for camping, diet or challenge. If you are worried about taste and sugar, you won't survive. It is plain and simple. If it gets so bad that you have to eat these, you will have what you find and eat, regardless of sugar content or taste. These are good for preppers. I thought I was prepared for Hurricane Katrina. I had a freezer full of frozen meats and food, a garage full of bottled water, and light canned goods. My home flooded into my second story. The freezer full of food became fish food because the generator no longer worked. If you keep food in multiple locations, it won't save you if it's under water.

9. Survival Tabs Emergency Preparedness Earthquake

Survival Tabs Emergency Preparedness Earthquake

The coconut flavor is great. Contain all of the essential vitamins and minerals. It is made with the highest quality meat. GLUTEN free and non-GMO. The 'Just in Case' food supply is a backup for natural disasters. This is the best nutrition in the smallest volume. When facing uncertainty, the body needs all the daily essential vitamins and minerals. The design makes it easy to store. One bottle can last up to 15 days. The 15-Day Supply is 1 container of 180 tablets. The calculation is based on an average person. Consumption requirements can be different from person to person. The flavor was strawberry. There are 180 tablets in a box and 12 chewable tablets with 20 calories per tab. The weight of the box is 1.8 lbs. The bottle dimensions are 7.5 x W 5 x D. The weight of the box is 1.8 lbs. The bottle dimensions are 7.5 x W 5 x D.

Brand: The Survival Tabs

👤I ordered 2 containers. I received a 15 day supply container and 5 bags of tabs. If my math is correct, I was shorted by 60 tabs.

👤I used a large package of these for a couple of weeks to fast. They work to take the edge off your hunger. There is a If you've ever tasted powdered coffee creamer, it's somewhat similar to the strawberry-cream taste, but better tasting. Twelve of the tablets have 100% of the USRDA of vitamins and minerals. If you only eat 12 of these, you're still getting vitamins and minerals, which is good for you. I haven't tried the other flavors yet, but if you like strawberries, coffee creamer and emergency ration, there's nothing wrong with them, except the price, which I'd like to see reduced.

👤I ordered two of them. I have to give a low rating because the seal on these containers are really substandard, and I want to love this product, but I have to give it a low rating. The bottles I ordered had broken seals. This was not caused by shipping because the box and contents are damage free. The big problem with the seal method is that the bottles are sealed with a round piece over the mouth of the container. The pop on/off top is covered in plastic. I opened the lid after cutting the plastic wrap off the top, but the inner seal was gone. The reason I bought them in the first place was because they would be a great product and this issue negates the 25 year shelf life. This kind of seal is not up to par. I returned both. I would like to point out that this manufacturer makes mylar bagging tablets in smaller quantities and higher per day price than these bottles. If you're like me, where the 25 year shelf life is essential for buying the product, then these containers are not enough to see this product live up to its claim. The plastic seal around the lid is not proof of proper seal of the contents. If they fix this issue, it could be a great product that I would buy several of because they are compact and unlike freeze dried food packs, they don't require water, which is fantastic.

👤I've been buying them for a while. If you have an electric stove, you can cook if the electric goes out. If the electric goes out during a storm and it takes a few weeks to get it back, everything in your fridge or freezer might go bad. If you have these, you will not be left starving. When you don't feel like eating, these will keep you going with the vitamins you need. These are good for hiking and camping when you can't take a lot of food. It's always a good idea to have them on hand in real emergencies. You can take these with you if you get flooded. These will still be good even if your items at home get ruined. They have the flavor. The flavor is not very strong. In times of need, you will be happy to have them. I've never had a bottle in 25 years. I have had them for a decade. They are a blessing. I would recommend them to anyone who is trying to prepare for survival. My adult son and I have relied on them for up to a month at a time when times were bad.

10. SOS Food Labs Inc 185000825

SOS Food Labs Inc 185000825

The StarKist 48-Pack of canned tuna is a bulk purchase. When hunger strikes, these tuna in water cans are great to have handy for when you are on the go, at the office or at home. The package weight is 1.6 lbs. Product type is safety supply Us Coast Guard has been approved.

Brand: Sos Food Labs, Inc.

👤The product was 2 years into its shelf life. The 1I was manufactured in July of 2016 and will be gone in June of 2021. They are being sold as having a long shelf life. I only get 3 years out of this one.

👤Trans Fat should not be in a food product. I will not buy any more from the food lab. There are many other choices.

👤Trans fat is dangerous for your circulation system. The daily limit for adults is 2 grams, but even one bar contains a much higher amount. The picture of its "nutrition facts" on Amazon's page was not accurate.

👤Of the 13 that I have received, four have not been vacuum sealed. The advertised shelf life is questionable because of the holes in the packaging. I bought 10 of them and 3 were bad. I returned them. Thanks to Amazon, which is very easy. I received three more backs, one of which was not vacuum sealed. I wouldn't trust this product in a life or death situation because of the high failure rate.

👤I bought these on Amazon for under 10 bucks, so I could try them out. I would like to make sure that you all catch the thing that I found a little misleading. The package only contains 3,600 calories, which is not advertised as a three-day supply. If you consider that the average person eats 2,000 calories per day or more, you can get a more accurate depiction of how this would last for you. If you wanted it to last for three days, you would need 1,200 calories per day. Depending on your level of activity, it may last. Keep that in mind. The good, now! The taste was pretty decent, and grew on me while I ate the first bar, which was the equivalent of 400 calories. The packaging was great. These suckers were packaged in a very versatile "brick" that would make storage and transport a breeze. There are clearly marked expiration and multiplication dates. If you are curious, you can open the outer packaging and keep the seal on the bars inside. The bars are wrapped individually in the packaging so you can test a few and leave the rest in there for future use. The outer packaging is made to preserve shelf life. You're left with a standard wrapper after it's broken open. Hope that helps. I'll buy more of them now that I know the taste isn't bad. It goes great with coffee.

👤I received this in June after ordering it in February. The product was useless because the vacuum seal was non-existent. I have the same food ration that is 10 years old with a vacuum seal and I'm not happy about it. There was no way to get a replacement. I am more unhappy now that the price has increased. If you received a ration without a good vacuum seal, you should return it.

👤The seal broke when one of the two ordered arrived. To reach out to the seller about replacement, and not to open it in case they want to exchange it for something else. These things are strong. * The sealed package is as solid as brick. The package clearly shows the date of manufacture and the date of expiration, which is nice compared to some similar products. When sealed, it is 4.5 x 4.875 x 2. It's perfect for keeping an emergency bag. I'll update the review if the "open" one is replaced.

11. Prep Basics 1 Person Emergency Calories

Prep Basics 1 Person Emergency Calories

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are available.

Brand: Prep Basics

👤This appears to be an emergency food supply from Amazon. The 16 pouch items come in a sturdy white bucket and a 25yr shelf life stamp with the actual manufacture date. The product is manufactured by Blue Chip Group, which is also the company that makes the Augason Farms food storage kit. This is where the comparisons can begin, as they make an almost identical product under that brand and label it as a 4 Person bucket, which has a 20yr shelf life vs 25. If you do quick math, you can see that 14 days is close to 3 days for 4 people. The menu item and the pouches are very similar. The product includes a pouch of Banana Chips, a pouch of Spanish Rice, and a pouch of powdered Milk. There are 2 Pouches of Instant Potatoes and 3 Pouches of Instant Milk. The rest is the same. The bucket has a bit more variety. The price seems a bit off. It is more expensive than the other bucket. It's up to you to decide if the added meal variety is worth the price difference.

👤The description was vague. The person should be called an eight person. I thought the packets had some inside. No one wants to eat chicken-flavored rice for three days. I thought you could have different rice dishes on different days, but you have to eat the whole eight serving and then have to eat the whole pot of soup.

👤The money will buy it again.

👤I know this product will help me.

👤It's hard to keep an emergency food supply in a cool environment in South Texas, so it must be stored in a cool environment. The food is in a bucket. The meals are in sealed bags. There is a good assortment of foods. Not great. I didn't expect that. They will provide adequate sustenance for two weeks in an emergency. You only need water. The Spanish Rice is pretty good. The oatmeal is the best. There is also powdered milk. I think this would be a good supply of food to have on hand, because we have hurricanes here. It's hard to maintain shelf life in Texas because you need to keep it in a cool place. I don't keep my home warm enough and it's hot here. I marked the date I received it on the top of the bucket so I could use it within 10 years.

👤I know friends and family that use this for easy meals, even though I bought this for our emergency kit. Add water and you're done. The shelf life is 25 years. I tried a few items. The goal is to have easy calories. It's better than a candy bar. I keep some of these in my desk for when I can't get out for a decent meal and want to eat something bad. The main complaint is the high amount of salt, it's common with processed foods.

👤There are two items in this bucket. My husband is not good for it. The Spanish Rice & Banana Chips were the only items he could eat. If we were in the middle of a disaster, the Spanish Rice would taste pretty good. The chips were pretty standard. With global warming, I think it is a good idea to have something like this.
