👤It was perfect for my brother to add it to his collection. I gave him it as well. It was useful when we were opening gifts. He said it was a nice feel in the hands, and that it was comparable to some of his higher end stuff.

👤I used it to hit a few things, and it does that well. The claw on the back cannot be used for pulling out drilled rivets, so I used pliers. The first time I tried to use the claw, it broke.

👤The handle for The wrench is top notch.

👤I gave my son a multitool axe hammer as a present and he absolutely loves it. He uses it frequently and wears it daily.

👤No lo, Es pequeo para el precio. No puedo decir, tan fuerte es el material.

👤This tool is useful around the house.

👤Excellent item. It was a Christmas gift from a young daughter and I haven't used it yet. It has been a sturdy multi tool piece.

👤It is a perfect christmas gift for a handymen.

👤I bought this knife because of the good reviews, but I was wrong to think it was a USA made product, it is engineered and designed in China, and I am going to rethink all my purchases. The knife is strong, has a good grip, but could have been sharper, but it is ok. There is a whistle on the lanyard and a fire starter rod that is on the back of the blade that makes sparks. I wish the descriptions pointed out that it was made in China.

👤The Bear Grylls Ultimate Survival has taken a lot of abuse over the years. It is one of my favorite economic knives. I was looking for a spare since it was discontinued, and luckily the non-advertised version came out from Gerber. It came with a great color. See the pictures. I recommend this product for hikers who need a good economic knife.

👤I read and watched many video reviews before buying this knife. A lot of people don't like the fact that this knife is made in China. Most of the things they own are made in China. I don't think so. The craftsmanship of this knife is not as good as that of a handmade $200+ knife, but it is a pretty good knife. It is tough as nails and holds an edge. Whatever you throw at it, it can handle it. I keep it in my emergency kit when it's not in use. Fire and earthquakes are the biggest natural disaster risks in my area. I would recommend this knife to anyone looking for a heavy duty knife.

👤The knife has been good. Within the first few uses, the firestarter broke. I returned the fire starter to the store. I haven't received the replacement or a response. Terrible customer service.

👤I just got a knife and I like it. This is the same as the Ultimate Knife but without all the markings. The subdued colors of this one make it much more appealing to me, even though I like the Bear Grylls style in general. The nuts and bolts are sturdy and you can feel it right away. The flint won't fall out if it hangs upside-down, and it snaps right into a sockets on the front of the sheath. It snaps firmly into place, but it's not easy to remove. It's much easier to pry loose the flint on my official Bear Grylls Ultimate Pro than it is to use the knife blade. The sheath can be worn vertically or horozontally. The sheath has a sharpening stone under it and can be opened with a strap. Since this isn't a Bear Grylls item, it's expected that this knife doesn't have a pocket in the sheath to hold it. Even though I haven't taken this knife out into the woods yet, I will not hesitate to rely on it for my needs when they arise. This knife is also available under a different listing with a custom engraving on the blade. I went with the original because I wanted the free prime shipping, but both knives are the same price.

3. Cool Hand Military Survival Tactical

Cool Hand Military Survival Tactical

It can cause sparks from ferro rods. It's 6'' long for big hands or gloves. 2. The bolts are out of 303 STAINLESS STEEL, solid and secure. 3. Glassbreaker for escape, self defence and DNA catcher. 4. Pocket clip and Lanyard hole for carrying things. 5. It's a perfect gift for veterans, police officers, security guards, hunting/ outdoor enthusiast.

Brand: Cool Hand

👤A good quality pen looks heavy duty. When I work security, I use a good back up defense tool, which is a gun or knife.

👤I thought I'd return the one I like less for the black stone washed finish. I kept both. ... One year later, I still have no idea which one I like better. The Cool Hand aluminum bolt action tactical is still a keeper even though I do not like it as much.

👤The service was quick. A very heavy pen. There is a nice ink cartridge. The bolt action is what I live for.

4. Special Survival Rubberized Sawback Tactical

Special Survival Rubberized Sawback Tactical

If you are not 100% satisfied with the product, you can get a full refund. The blade length is 7 inches (17.78 cm) and the weight is 12.64 ounces. It isdurable: The blade is made of reliable 8Cr13MoV. A black, rubberized handle is made of high carbon steel. It's permissible. The sheath is black and easy to use. Have faith that the hand guard will keep the blade from slipping. The knife has a sawback edge on the spine of the blade.

Brand: Smith & Wesson

👤Unfortunate. I liked this knife, but... It's dangerous. The blade snapped off. I was lucky that it didn't hit my face.

👤HOLY CRAP! Went back to order another one and noticed the price had gone up. Only reason I didn't like it. This knife is a good one. It seems well constructed and has a great balance. A well trained individual could do a lot of damage. The butt end is good for hitting people. It has a similar texture to a meat tenderizer. This is a preliminary review, since I haven't field tested it myself. A tough guy and blade enthusiast. The sheath kept 5 stars away. The button popped, but that's beside the point. If you want to do any kind of MOLLE setup with it, you'll want a better sheath. It's flimsy and feels plastic. That's the only complaint I have. Someone who doesn't do reviews is very good at complaining. Cheers to you, patriots.

👤I carry a knife with me in the woods. It is easy to carry on a belt, molle strap or inside a pack. The knife was sharp. The back saw spine is only used for looks. It's not very functional, but it's a big knife.

👤The knife is modeled after the Ka-bar fighting knives based on its length, profile and weight. I returned a knife that was very toy-like with a bent hilt and a hard plastic handle and it was very slippery. The knife is better at night and day. The grip shape and texture is better. Is the bar good? No. It's over $20 instead of $100. If you use it for defense, it will last just fine. The saw-back is not worth much. It's worth the money and a keeper for my collection.

👤I received my knife and it was what I was expecting. The knife is five stars, but I have an issue with the sheath. The button snaps on my belt are not very tight, so when I pull it out or put it back, the snaps tend to come loose. I will fix it myself, but S&W will give it 5 stars. My wife told me to order her one the day it arrived, and my coworker bought one two days later.

👤A nice knife. Really strong steel. The ship was moving fast. After I cut it, it became really sharp.

👤It is relatively inexpensive to have a full tang steel blade. This knife can cut with the best of them, so don't waste your money on 'tactical' or 'cool' call of duty knives.

👤A quality build feels sturdy. That's not an issue, it's a little bigger than I thought. The saw teeth side is thick. It's not meant to be used as a saw.

👤The sawback works better than the one on the bottom because it moves 1/6in if you move it but that does not mean anything. (-):

5. Multitool AllynX Multi Pliers Needlenose Stainless

Multitool AllynX Multi Pliers Needlenose Stainless

If you are not satisfied with their product, you can contact them directly and they will offer a satisfactory solution to you. The AllynX multi tool has a butterfly deisgn with a central main pair of pliers. It has 10 pieces of 16 features, including wire cutter, knife, screwdrivers, saw and more. The class results in pliers that can be easily deployed without opening the multitool. It is a great option for daily carry with only 0.48 pounds. Stable and high quality--AllynX multipliers. The multi-purpose pocket tool has been made rust-proof and resistant to oxidation by applying premium steel, which is kept clean and dry after use. You will be impressed by its tight pivot, comfortable handle, strong grip, and the ability to take substantial work, especially the strong pliers, which gets the ability to take substantial work. The safety lock and belt clip design was created. The locking mechanism on this multi-tool guarantees safety. The lock design makes sure the side tools are locked in place. When side tools are about to be folded, two side lock buttons will need to be pushed down at the same time. The pocket clip is a convenient feature, it allows the pocket clip to be secured on the belt. It is a good gift idea for Father's Day, Birthdays, and Anniversaries, as well as for Campers, Hikers, and Do-it-yourselfers. It is a special gift for teen boys. Get them and yourself a cool multitool and be prepared for any unexpected situations, no matter where you are or what you are doing. AllynX always stand behind their products. They will always give you satisfactory solutions if you are unhappy with your purchase or experience. AllynX always stand behind their products. They will always give you satisfactory solutions if you are unhappy with your purchase or experience.

Brand: Allynx

👤The multi tool was purchased for my husband to use around the house. The liner lock is very capable and the item has a durable feel to it. All the tools fold back as well. The scissors are not as cheap as some of the ones you get. The holding case is sturdy. The knife can handle some use. It's nice for him to have this at the ready so he doesn't have to go to the garage to find pliers or scissors. This item is comparable to a Leatherman at a lower price.

👤This tool is 10 pieces. I love that it's lightweight and spring loaded. Holds up well in a Leatherman. This is a great tool to have in a car for any emergencies. I would recommend this product.

👤The AllynX multitool is new and I'm thinking it might be my favorite tool. I have several multi tools. My Gerber Suspension has been a constant companion up to now. The AllynX is heavy but strong enough to feel strong. The title suggests that the blades are just under the three inch mark, which is less than the length of the Gerber's. The AllynX when folded is a bit longer. The scissors have a clever design. A thin arm is activated when the scissors are locked in place. An added safety feature is that the spring doesn't work prior to locking in place. The four big tools have a press mechanism that is easy to operate with your thumb. The press to release system is similar to the smaller tools. There are a lot of tools. The pliers have wire cutter blades that can be replaced, they're held in with small allenkey bolts. We will see how well the pouch stays together and how well the blades stay sharp. The pouch is the first item I'm not overjoyed with. It closes with a hook and loop fastening. These tend to collect bits of lint over time and become useless, a better idea would be to use a metal snap button. The shape of the Gerber is negative, it is not easy to slide out of my grip, and the curved handles make it fit in my hands well. The AllynX has straight handles and so does not feel confident in my hands. The lager blades and clever design make this a tool worth buying, but it could be a tough choice as both the AllynX and the Gerber are at the same price level. The blades feel strong, even though they have little to no flex, so unless you abuse them, they should hold their shape and not snap easily. I would give another half star if I could.

👤Although I've always been a gadget freak, I've never had a multi-tool that I could clip to my belt. I can't compare this multi-tool to the Leatherman, which is the best known multi-tool and sells for the same price. The AllynX model is an excellent one. The tools lock into place. The device is easy to use and folds back neatly into a compact piece that fits perfectly in a rugged nylon carrying case. The various tools seem to be of high quality, each one more robust than its counterpart on a large Swiss Army Knife. This multi-tool would be great for camping, in your car or truck's glove box, or in your fishing tackle box. I'm likely to reach for it around the house when I need to make a quick fix and don't want to be bothered rummaging through my hardware drawer. This would be a great gift for the man in your life. Two thumbs up!

6. Smith Wesson SWBG2TS Serrated Aluminum

Smith Wesson SWBG2TS Serrated Aluminum

The Black clash is a great tool for any hiker, hunter, angler, gardener, mechanic, Backpacker or anyone in need of a solid, reliable EDC. 10 inch (25.4 cm) overall length with a blade length of 4.4 inches (11.2 cm) and a weight of 8.8 ounces. It isdurable: The blade is made of 7Cr17MoV black oxide high carbon steel with a black aluminum handle. It's permissible. It's ideal for everyday carry because of its convenient pocket clip and ambidextrous thumb knobs. The blade will not slip with the security of the liner lock. The seatbelt and glassbreaker are curios.

Brand: Smith & Wesson

👤I carry a couple of S&W folding knives and they are very well made. The folder is large and strong and has the same quality as all their products. I own a folding knife that is one of the largest I own. The only downside is that it's not a spring assist or M.A.G.I.C. Assist, it's a S&W brand. It's a high quality knife at an affordable price, so you would definitely want it in a collection. If you liked the review, please help me to give honest/unbiased insight into products I have used and you have questions about. Interested in a product but don't know enough about it to request a review? Please let me know. I will see what I can do. Thank you.

👤I know I'm a total knife whore. I was motivated by reviews when I bought the S&W BG2, not just on Amazon, but all sorts of knife forums. I was looking for an edc that was rugged and capable of taking a beating, but also had the emergency capabilities I wanted. Believe me. This knife has never failed me. It's pretty heavy, which I really like. It wasn't designed to be used for delicate cutting. It's like a sword in your pocket. If you're looking for an edc that is just a pocket knife, look elsewhere. It's big! That's okay too. I'm big. You might not want to get this if you have small hands. If you tend to beat the knives out of them, you might have trouble handling them. You might want to buy some gloves. It was very sharp. I have to shake my head because I see so many Q&As and reviews about it not being razor sharp out of the box. There is a If you're in a line of work that requires you to be 'razor sharp' or something, then that's one thing. Why are you worried about a razor sharp instrument if you don't need it? My experience has been that anyone who insists that knives be razor sharp at all times has more scars, and less respect for the blade, because of accidents or not respecting it. I'm not sure. Look. The knife is very good. Anyone that passes on a tool like this is a fool.

👤I own dozens of knives and I was interested in this knife because it seemed like it would fit my large hands. There is a If you've worked with your hands, you've developed them beyond keyboards and manicures. You can use this knife. It will shave hair. You can't complain about the quality of the knife or the price. This doesn't have the bearing system of $100+ knives, but it snaps open with ease. The belt/rope cutter is my only complaint. If you don't pay attention, the cutter can get into your clothing. Not a deal breaker at all!

👤This knife is not a safe knife, the liner lock of the knife at least I received was not well designed or bad quality control, as you can see from others' review. I thought the knife was open when I opened it, but it wasn't. A lot of blood came out, my nail was cut 5mm wide, with a gentle sweep, the knife suddenly closed. It hurts after 3 weeks. I found that the blade was not always locked by the liner lock after opening, because the liner lock was soft, not that rigid, as another knife I bought from Amazon, which has very strong and thicker liner lock. It won't give me a fake lock impression.

7. SOG Pillar Survival Micarta UF1001 BX

SOG Pillar Survival Micarta UF1001 BX

The old swords of old are brought into the new era with a sleek and sharp design. Please use it with care. Made in the U.S. CPM S35VN STEEL OUTDOOR KNIFE. The ultimate bush craft knife, camping knife and hunting knife is made in the U.S. A boot knife and a perfectly balanced fixed blade belt knife weigh 7. Measures 9 ounces. 9 inches overall. The MI carta handle with finger choli is ideal for any knife with a full tang blade. The Kayden sheath knife has an easy to use locking mount for fixed blade knives. Take care of your tactical knife with sheath and they will take care of you; SOG blades are built to last and they consider all repair and replacement requests. Take care of your tactical knife with sheath and they will take care of you; SOG blades are built to last and they consider all repair and replacement requests.

Brand: Sog

👤If you're looking for an excellent tactical knife in the under $200 dollar range, I found two very similar choices. I bought both for comparison purposes because my knife collection isn't quite complete after many years. The SOG Pillar is a brand new knife that is not a lot of people have seen yet. On the right side of the blade, there is a sign that says "USA made". The CPM-S35VN premiumstainless steel blade is highly durable and will resist the effects of harsh conditions. The five inch blade has a heavy duty jimping at the grip for enhanced retention in wet or bloody conditions. The clip point keeps a nice width at the tip for piercing without worry of breaking. The knife has a distinctive look that is all business, and it has a curved blade. The skull popper has a lanyard hole. This is a tactical design that will serve hunters well. I've seen a man field dress a caribou with a knife blade on his Leatherman tool, which proves you can do that if you are experienced, but some knives will be better suited for the task than others. The SOG Pillar's blade has enough belly on it to be a decent skinning blade for any hunter. The knife is light on the back end, but it feels natural and balanced in the hand, and the canvas handles are very comfortable. The knife is instantly accessible no matter how you rig it, because the sheath uses a very tight fit to do away with safety straps. The locking mount on the sheath is low profile. Some might shy away in sticker shock but a knife of this quality is worth every cent, especially when you come to depend on it over time. This is a great blade. The tale of two knives is continuing with my review of the Benchmade fixed Contego 183 reverse tanto.

👤It is difficult to know where to start. I have been looking at this knife for several weeks because of its perfect size, CPM S35VN steel, and attractive blade design. I am a knife lover and avid collector, but I shy away from the expensive ones because I would become homeless quickly if I bought all the ones I wanted. Since there was no guarantee that the price would stay that low, I was willing to gamble on it. I opened the box after the blade arrived. I was worried about the color of the handle since the description said it was black, but several reviews said it was grey. I was happy to see that it was mostly black with a little grey mixed in. The handle is comfortable and solid, but I have felt better on less expensive knives. The look of the blade steel is amazing, with a mixture of stonewashed and satin finishing. The S35VN steel is of high quality. The knife is 5 stars. The sheath left something to be desired. The knife doesn't sit firmly when sheathed despite the fact that it comes with a variety of carrying options. If carried sideways or blade up, it would probably fall out. I would expect a better quality sheath to match the excellence of the blade at this price point. I have included in the provided pictures some of the other knives and sheaths that are of the same size that I have purchased for comparison. None of those blades cost more than $50. I still give this knife a five star rating because the blade is good enough to make up for the drawbacks of the sheath, and it is easier to find a better sheath at a cheaper price than it is to find such an excellent knife and quality sheath together for a cheaper price. The knife itself is worth it if you are on the fence about it. You will not want to drop or lose a knife in this price range, so be prepared to find a quality sheath or use the one provided in tip down configuration.

If you enjoy hunting and other outdoor activities, you'll find the StatGear Surviv-All outdoor knife to be a convenient and practical choice. If you enjoy hunting and other outdoor activities, you'll find the StatGear Surviv-All outdoor knife to be a convenient and practical choice.

Brand: Statgear

👤The steel used was the only thing that was different about this knife. I bought this knife for my AT section hike. It has a great grip, a nice sheath, a built-in line cutter, and a sharpener. Give it five stars and be done with it. The steel used for this knife is probably A. This steel does not hold an edge for very long. It is a good value for this price point. There are better steels for a survival blade. It is a nice little rig. I decided to use a D2 steel knife and a swiss firestarting rod.

👤Great product. I have not used the knife yet, but if it breaks I will update this review, otherwise it is what I think. The knife feels very solid, good weight, the blade is solid, a slight bit wider than I thought, but not really a flaw, the handle is a little soft and tacky, and the rubber feels durable. Even when wet, you get a really good grip. I can pinch it just where the blade meets the handle, and it has a good overall length to control it, and it is well balanced. The nylon belt loop is thick and nice and the sheath feels very durable. The fire starter works, it is mounted upside down on the sheath, but it takes a bit of effort to pull it out, so I don't see it falling out. I can't say over time. It would have been nice if the sheath had spaces on the side to strap it onto a backpack. The nylon belt loop is screwed onto the back of the sheath, so I might try to rig something up. The sharpening stone on the back is coarse for my liking, I would have preferred something a bit more fine to just put back an edge. I think it is a great knife for the price.

👤I tested the knife in the field, cutting, carving, and chopping, and it has stood up to the abuse. The knife is tough because of the softer steel and it will not chip if you chop hard woods or drop it on a rock. It can besharpened on the included diamond plate once the edge is rolled or dulled. You can get a shaving edge on it in minutes, which is an advantage over harder steel knives. The pummel was damaged from hitting slay rock but is still usable. The fire steel started a fire for me in seconds using brush, dried grass and all I could find in the forest around me, so it definitely works. This knife is a cheaper version of the Ultimate Pro knife, but it is still very strong. If you want a cheap knife to take out to camp or hunting, with a nice sheath and fire steel all in one package, this is the knife for you. It does the job for $35, thats a meal for 2 in a restaurant.

👤This knife is a great buy. It is similar to the Prodigy. Another budget knife is added to the collection. I have a lot of expensive knives, but they aren't that expensive. I decided to remove the paracord with the clip on the sheath to make my hack.

Brand: Gaazo

👤I didn't get past unwrapping axe multitool. The handle had a leaf spring that was broken. I sent the whole thing back. The replacement had the same issue. I sent it back as well. Quality issues with other components were likely to be a result of that basic issue. I stopped the unpacking at that moment, so I don't know for sure. I'm willing to bet there's more to come if you see the same problem on two separate items.

👤It was a present for my son who is into survival development. He was very excited and appreciative of the package that he received and he said it had everything he was looking for. Highly recommended as a gift.

👤I bought this for my husband for the holidays and some of the equipment was broken. I will change my review if they are able to replace my items. There is a lot in the set. If all the pieces worked correctly, it would have been great.

👤There are items missing from the order. It isn't worth the money spent.

👤I bought this for a friend who is going camping across the country next week. He will really be wanting this. It was nice to have everything in a sturdy case that won't open if you mistake it for something else. It seems to have no water to drink.

👤Aquella persona tiene un Kit de Supervivencia. The calidad de los productos is excelente. No llega el Kit, solo tengo una quija. "Multifuntional Card", falto la tarjeta.

👤Everything was great except for the pen. The ink is broken. The good thing is that all items are individually wrapped.

👤I bought this for my son. It's a nice little kit to start with. My son loves it and says it's easy to carry with him.

10. KA BAR Marine Corps Fighting Straight

KA BAR Marine Corps Fighting Straight

The bottle weight is approximately 1.8 pound. The dimensions are 7.5 x W 5 x D. The angle of the edge is 20 degrees. Overall length is 11.875 inches. The most famous knife design in the world. The fightning knife has a leather handle.

Brand: Ka-bar

👤The knife that was inside the box is not a ka-bar. I'm the box that says "knife made in USA" on the actual knife it says is made in China and the knife does not say ka bar and the blade is a fake. I thought it was a duplicate. It is not a real thing.

👤I bought this knife to use as a utility knife in a camper. A quality leather sheath, and a genuine KaBar, which is sharp enough to shave the hair off the back of my hand. The USMC stamp is a plus. My first KaBar was lost when I was wounded. I bought a model 1209 at the USMCPX in 1970 to replace my old one. I've used it for 47 years, but wanted to leave something in the camper so it would always be there. KaBar has my vote. There is a The new full size model with a 7" blade is larger than the 1209 and has a classic stacked leather handle and pinned butt cap. A good utility knife has an edge angle of 20 degrees. The sheath got darker and more pliant after being treated with oil. The knives will probably last longer than I will. Highly recommended.

👤A nice knife. The handle has a leather grip. If you're worried about Chinese imitations, I suggest you click on the one-star reviews and look at the pictures others have posted. The knife I received at the end of the year was not one of the ones on the product page. I got the real thing, with a "Made in Mexico" stamp on the blade and a "Orlean, New York" Ka-Bar stamp on the cross guard. There is a sticker on the sheath. For the leather grip and sheath, I used Sno-Seal. Follow the directions and heat up the leather with a hair dryer, rub in the product with a cloth and wipe away the excess. I like that look of the leather being slightly darkened by wax. You can use a lot of different things to treat the leather, but I believe beeswax is the best option for a knife grip, because oils will make the leather softer, which you don't want on the grip of your knife. The leather grip on this knife should be very hard. Beeswax does not protect against softening. It should be done once per year. Oiling the blade can be done with gun oil, olive oil, or both. Olive oil can go rancid in hot temperatures and mechanical oils aren't good for dressing game. I decided to get this knife oil because I'm not likely to kill a wild boar with this knife. It will last a long time. I like an easy solution for sharpening my knives because I am not an expert. I have a few pocket sharpeners, but I like this one the best. I have used the coarse carbide option before, and I don't think it's worth it. The fine ceramic is the best for sharpening. Happy New Year.

11. USA Xtreme MX A805GD Spring Folding

USA Xtreme MX A805GD Spring Folding

There are functions such as a large blade with wavy edge, bottle opener, screwdriver, lockup, wire stripper, wood saw, and can opener. The spring assist folding knife has a lock on it. The blade is 4mm thick and has a sawback. It is easy and safe to carry a pocket clip. Measures 5 inches closed.

Brand: Mtech Usa

👤First things first. If you want to get a tool that fits the screws on the knife, you should go to your local hardware store and get a tool that fits the screws. This knife is very sharp. I like the large folding knives. This one was made by MTECH. This one or the USMC series are some of the "Extreme" Series. Most of those have a 4mm thick blade, but this one doesn't. I know that 4 millimeters is about 3/16, but this blade is about 1/6. It is less than 4mm. The handle could be a bit thicker to give it a better grip. Some are saying that it is hard to deploy. This is also true of me. If you loosen the philips screw on the pivot that the blade secures to a little, you will find it easier to break it. MTechs MX-A850 is definitely something to look at. The one being reviewed is MX-A805. The 50 is better but it can't be found on Amazon. It looks better and has a better handle. Also very sharp.

👤Explanation: I own two of these knives, and just ordered 2 more to keep in other locations. If you're on a tight budget, and you want a folding knife that's great at doing what knives do, you should order this right now. It is a great piece of metal. It's equally good for keeping in your workshop or for every day carry, check your local laws to make sure you're in the clear first. If you have a better knife in this category or style at this price point, please let me know. The parts of the review that are about the same length are the "pros" and "cons" parts. If you wanted the endorsement of a stranger, you can stop reading here. Let's dive in, but you haven't. I love this knife. It's easy to use and has a beautiful factory edge. To unfold the knife, put your thumb on the blade and index finger on the back of the handle. Move the two fingers in opposite directions. I thought it would be helpful to throw in if this is your first folding knife. When you first get it, it may be a little stiff, but it will loosen up with use. If you're the impatient type like me, you can adjust the stiffness by messing with thePhillips head screw. Don't remove all the screws from it. I have giant gorilla paws for hands, but I think it's great, the way it feels, the way it's balanced, the way it maneuvers between forward and reverse grip, the way you can fine tune it. I have to disagree with some of the complaints about how heavy it is. It's a little heavy when you hook it to the inside of your pocket, but for me it's the perfect size for carry, and the weight is negligible. I have never felt like it was putting strain on my back or trying to pull my pants down. If you're looking for something that's closer in size to an apple peeler, or if you're more of a small person, then you should look for the Smith & Wesson SWA24S 7.1in STAINLESS STEEL FOLDING KNIT. It's a quality pocket price that costs slightly less and might be better suited to your needs. Carrying a knife like this every day is one of those things that, to the uninitiated, might seem frivolous, overcautious, or even paranoid... until you do it for a couple weeks and wonder how you ever got along without it. A stray thread on your clothes, Trimming small pieces of vegetation that get in the way when you're working on something outdoors. There are many problems that can be solved with a sharp piece of steel. Those aren't necessarily things that only this knife can do, but it does them admirably, and without the cheap feeling of a box cutter. I call them "box cutters" because they are a sturdy, reasonably compact, Multipurpose tool with a simple design that can take a beating, which is what a real utility knife should be capable of. If you are going to use it for day to day tasks, make sure you don't intimidate other people when you open it. It has a very "tacti-cool" look to it that makes others assume that it's a murder knife even though they have 2.5 blades in their kitchen. If you've owned and used it for a while, you can take it out of your pocket and cut it in a split second, which will make people think you're a real person. You don't want to be known as the knife dude by your friends and co-workers. Maybe you do. I won't tell you how to live your life if you're not going to stab people. If you're a moderate knife enthusiast, I could point to a few drawbacks, like the fact that honing a knife on a wet stone is more difficult than honing it on a smooth blade. The corners and turns drag grooves into your stone. You can keep it sharp by watching videos on the internet. They'll show you how to keep a blade sharp, and as a bonus, you might even discover that you have a disease. Keep looking if you're looking for a folding knife. The back of the blade isn't a saw, but it is a sawback blade. You couldn't cut pudding with this knife. If you ever carry a saw blade in your pocket, you'll realize it's a terrible idea. If you're looking for a multitool, look for brands like Gerber and Leatherman. What are those ridges on the back for? Again, because it's cool. A person claims they are for cutting through wire fences. You twist the fence wire until it cuts. The other person seemed like a legit knife dude, so I can't give 888-353-1299 I had a hunch that this was the defensive side of the knife. If someone is cutting at you, it will hook onto their blade, and you can throw them for a loop or chip their blade. The theory was tested out with an old chef's knife that I no longer use, and it took a small chip out of the blade. In theory, you could chip off enough chunks of their blade to make them knifeless, but in real knife-on-knife action, you'd be trying to thread a small needle, and I wouldn't bet the farm on this ever working. Don't get into knife fights. It is a bit difficult to disassemble. To reassemble. I decided to disassemble my car and give it a thorough cleaning, oiling, and polishing to make it easier to use. I had to use the screwdriver to get the washer that fell on the floor to come down. It's a plus that you can take the whole thing apart with a regular screwdriver, but it's not really worth it. If it's ever too ugly or foul, just buy another one at 14 bucks. I'm blowing smoke there. I placed my third and fourth order for this item because I like being within arm's reach of one. None of the other ones have failed in any way, and they all work just as well as they did out of the box. I now have them that I like. It's a tacti-cool tanto knife, so presumably it holds up in combat. I have never been in a knife fight, but I have walked through back alleys late at night in neighborhoods where I have concealed it in my hand, and it has made me feel safer. If you're buying this because you're going to have a knife fight next week, you should cancel it. The winner dies in the ambulance and the loser dies in the alley. It should be a last resort weapon. Don't wave it around at people you disagree with. It's only useful if you're looking for a quick way to get to the hospital, morgue, or prison cell. If a wild animal was staring me down, or worse, I would absolutely trust this knife with my life. I would like to test it out as a seatbelt cutter, and I have a clunker that will never run again but has perfectly fine seatbelts, so when my new set comes in, I might take a whack at it and then update this review, which is definitely not long enough already. If you are going to keep this in your car to cut seatbelts in an emergency, make sure you keep it in your car and not use it for anything else. You don't want to use a knife that has been dulled from slicing cardboard. If you don't know what you're doing when it comes to sharpening knives, you'll never get it as sharp as the factory edge. You don't want that emergency to happen when you promise to get it sharp again tomorrow. Buy this thing, and if it doesn't meet your expectations, return it, or just put it somewhere kids can't get to, that's a long story. You can leave a bad review and call me an idiot. Bad publicity is not a thing.
