Brand: Quest Nutrition

👤I don't like seeing all of the negative things about these bars. I think they are great. I have never seen a mold or other foreign object in my bars and they are always the perfect texture. These are the best bars when you want a sweet treat but don't want to eat a lot of calories. The crunch of the cookies inside makes them seem like a forbidden treat when on a diet. If you've seen the negative reviews, I highly recommend you try these. The apple pie and oatmeal chocolate chip bars are awesome. I hope my review helped you. If you did, please approve. Thank you!

👤Okay. I am confused. I was blown away by how good the bar was when I first tasted it. I bought a whole box online. When it arrived, I noticed it tasted different, and I thought it was just me forgetting how good it tasted. I realized there were clear differences when I looked closer. There is an obvious difference in size and colour. The taste is plastic. It is almost impossible to chew them. The store bought one that tasted like birthday cake, and I compared it to a soft one. The one that the Amazon bought was gross. What is going on here? Quality control is important!

👤I get through two boxes a month with these bars. They are one of the best on the market. I opened a box and found my bar with mold on it, not impressed. Will not purchase through Amazon.

👤They are the best. Some of the best tasting bars out there are low in sugar and high in nutrition. Birthday cake and cookies and cream are the best delicacies. Supreme 4) peanut butter Do not buy: 1) the Blueberry Muffin waffles. Apple Pie 3) There is a strawberry cheesecake pro tip. If you have time, warm them up in the microwave. Depending on the microwave, it could be as little as 5.

👤Listen to the other reviewers. The formula has poor quality that causes a lot of problems. I have purchased bars from other vendors than Amazon, and I have experienced issues with the mold, as well. I found a piece of metal in the bar. They accused me of putting metal in the bar, but blamed their vendors, and then dismissed it as an issue. Many products have been changed to be labeled with the combined facility/ equipment label if you are free of the allergy. I wonder how long it will take them to have it. This is a big issue if you're sensitive like I am. I used to use several quest products daily, but now they are out of my world. It is a real safety issue with that many issues.

👤Why would they do that? I have been ordering bars from Quest for years and I loved the chocolate peanut butter flavor. The combination of taste and nutrition was the best I could find. The bars are close to inedible, despite the fact that the nutrition might be there. The bars taste like straight chemicals after the recipe change. They leave me queasy and, more than once, had me on the couch wondering if I'd be able to get them back up. I don't know what they did with the new bars, but they don't look right, feel right, taste right, or sit right with me. I don't like the thought of downing another one. I would return a box or two a week. I can't eat them. I threw out what was left in my cabinet and canceled my subscription. They really messed this one up when they made this change. Thanks for breaking what didn't need fixing.

2. Pure Protein Healthy Support Chocolate

Treat yourself after your workout to replenish your energy and help recover your muscles. Fuel your workouts with a balanced diet.

Brand: Pure Protein

👤The bars taste great. I like to start my day with coffee and an energy bar. I tried these because my usual brand increased in price. They don't love me. The package clearly states that the sugar alcohols caused me to experience GIDs after a few days of consumption. I wouldn't consider one bar a day over consumption, so it's probably just an allergy to maltitol. Never again.

👤Don't be fooled by me. The picture on the left is a picture of the product I bought, but the picture on the right is a picture of the product I bought. The product I got is either the one on the right or the more blurry one. The bars I got have more fat and cholesterol than I do. They are advertising bars that are almost supplement bars, but they are just sugar bars.

👤I love buying this product from the store. I set up auto delivery on Amazon because the store never has the value packs anymore. The first box tastes terrible. Not fresh at all. I know it is not the product itself, but it is hard, boring and disgusting. I love it from the store. If autoship is the same, then give it another try.

👤I've been trying different brands of bars to find one that I can keep buying. I always go for chocolate or peanut butter if it's available. One of the two I have found is excellent, but overpriced. The Pure Protein Bars were expected to be good. I took my first bite. The texture is very smooth. The taste is terrible. The peanut butter flavor doesn't taste like peanut butter. I will not be purchasing these again, even though I think mine came from a bad batches. I kept these around, thinking I might try one later. The rest of the box was thrown away. If they are sitting next to others that taste better, why wouldn't I eat one of them?

👤Pure Protein bars are among the most affordable bars you can get. I want low-sugar sources of nutrition throughout the day, and my mornings are very busy. I like to check my morning quota without having to eat a lot of calories, but a pure bar of pure protein is an excellent way to do that. The chocolate peanut butter is my favorite, but there are many other flavors to choose from. Why 4 stars? Sucralose. I wish they used a natural sweetener.

👤If you are looking for a bar that is not high in sugars and low in calories, you have come to the right place. The first thing I look at on a nutrition label is the sugar content. Most energy bars have a lot of sugar in them. The bar has the lowest amount of sugars and alcohol of any I have found. The majority of "protein" bars have more than one food group in them. This bar is a very rare exception. Pure Protein is a great snack for people who want to stay on a highprotein diet and not have to worry about their blood sugar levels going through the roof. It's a good source of sustainable energy and the taste isn't bad. I wouldn't confuse it with a peanut butter cup. The overall taste is bland and the chocolate is a bit darker than milk chocolate you will find in most candy bars. These bars are satisfying if you have a chocolate craving. The nutrition label for this product doesn't seem to be included in the description, so I'm uploading a photo of it. This product doesn't have a lot of vitamins or minerals, so it doesn't replace a multi-vitamin supplement or a lot of protein shakes. There is a warning about sugar alcohols possibly causing irritability. If you only eat a single bar at a time, I have not heard of a problem. If you eat a few of them, you will most likely experience some mild irritation. "Partially produced with genetic engineering" is a strange statement on the label. I don't know if this fact is disclosed in the United States or in Canada, where these bars are produced. Most processed foods are likely to contain genetically modified organisms. You are never told about it. PureProtein is up front about it. The bars contain Sucralose. Some people don't like this ingredient. I use Sucralose a lot and don't have any side-effects unless I consume too much of it at once. A lot of scary sounding chemical ingredients are absent, but there is also some soy. I can't recommend this product enough if you want to control your blood sugar levels. If you want to have a good time, buy a Snickers bar. This is one of the healthiest snacks you can eat, with 20g of protein and a minimum of sugars and carbs. They are expensive from a cost perspective, but you are not going to find a better deal when it comes to quality in 888-282-0465.

3. MET Rx Fruity Protein Replacement Vitamin

MET Rx Fruity Protein Replacement Vitamin

30 grams of quality protein is what the Big 100 fruity cereals crunch bars have. You can build up your energy for your next run, ride, or workout with the help of MET-Rx bars. If you're looking for a high-energy snack that's also a delicious meal replacement bar, the MET-Rx Big 100 fruity cereals crunch are a great choice. Without the fountain, cosmopolitan is without the fountain. The crisp, colorful rice is fun to eat and fruity with no artificial flavors. Energy and taste are bundled in a single bar. The MET-Rx Big 100 bars feature their exclusive METAMYOSYN blend, which combines fast and slow absorbing protein sources to help you reach new levels of performance.

Brand: Met-rx

👤These used to be my favorite, go to, bars; they tasted great, had a small amount of fat compared to most bars on the market, and they had ample nutrition to make them worth the time to eat them. They just changed the formula with a new taste and more of a source of energy. It is certainly not improved, even though it may be new. These are no longer great tasting, they now have a ridiculous amount of fat, and they only managed to increase the amount ofProtein by 2g, bringing them to 30g in total. Dump the "New and Improved" chocolate chip cookie dough nutrition bars and go back to the original formula. Will not purchase these bars again. Thanks for ruining something.

👤When I received my box of bars, the box was fine, but the bars were all flat, and half the size shown and advertised, they are the size of a standard Hershey bar. The new flavor of the bars is bland, they are made in Canada, and there is no chocolate chip in them. Don't buy these expensive candy bars because they are too small. They don't fill up the box halfway with all the bars because they are so thin. The last photo is supposed to be a thick meal replacement bar with chocolate chips inside. The churro bars are melted and crushed due to Amazon being too stupid to use a box.

👤For the past six years, this was my go-to for bars. Adding sugar alcohols improved the recipe. I used it because it was one of the only bars that didn't have sugar alcohols. It is cheaper, but I won't be buying them anymore, so I will not enjoy that.

👤This is the dessert of the bar world. It has a lot of healthy ingredients but also has a lot of sugar and other bad ingredients. The amount of fat in it makes it a meal replacement item. These would be perfect if they could somehow lower the sugar, up the fiber, and eliminate some of the less healthy components. For the current price, I can't recommend consuming them other than occasionally. It is a candy bar, but has more nutrition value than a regular candy bar. A delicious one at that! Kort.

👤This review is almost done with writing. If you don't know what Super Cookie Crunch is, then you must be living under a rock or locked up somewhere. These bars are legendary, and for good reason. They fill you up like a meal. The taste is similar to your favorite candy bar. The distribution of vitamins and minerals is on point. If you are one of the people that has a hissy fit over sugar, these are probably not a good choice for you, but for anyone else, it's a good idea to keep a box of these in the pantry. I can recommend the apple pie version of the pretzel bar. Both are great. I don't like the cookie dough version. It reminds me of eating a quest bar and chewing on road tar.

4. Stansport 366 Emergency Food Bar

Stansport 366 Emergency Food Bar

The Apple Cinnamon Flavour: APPLE CINNAMON. Provides needed nutrition while enjoying the food. The bar has a delicious apple cinnamon flavor. 20 food bar ration for the whole family. 3 days supply of 3,600 calories. It is hydrated and not thirsty. The U.S. Coast Guard approved. Emergency ration food bar.

Brand: Stansport

👤The item I received was over a year old and was made to last 5 years. If you're going to sell a product that has already been used up, you should specify that.

👤Simple ingredients. There are ration bars in the pack. When the wrap on a single portion is opened, it is like a very very biscuit. The taste is similar to a cracker. It was a good value for an experiment to try ration bars.

👤One bar will keep you hungry for 6 hours. Enough time to eat.

👤The packaging is terrible. The outer part is not bad. The inside is worse. Each bar is wrapped. It seems like they are easy to open. They are supposed to unwrap easily because the plastic is wrapped around it and sealed on 2 ends so you can open it. But... It's difficult to find that opening because they were vacuumed in. 1/2 The bar breaks up inside when it doesn't open the way it should. The bar is so dry that it will fall apart if you get it out in one piece. A lot of the bar can be wasted. The taste is not as good as other bars.

👤I haven't tried the product because I purchased it as emergency ration. The 5 year shelf life is a selling point. The product I received was almost half of the shelf life of the product I received. It was manufactured in May 2012 and expires in May 2017:

👤Can't expect much, but there if needed.

👤Not terrible. It's good for storing away as it has a long shelf life and is well packed.

👤I could blow on it and watch it fall apart into powder, and have a drink with it.

5. ALOHA Organic Protein Chocolate Non GMO

ALOHA Organic Protein Chocolate Non GMO

There are 12 boxes of organic peanut butter chocolate chip plant base. Only 5g of Sugar and 10g of Fiber are included in the 14 grams of organic plant-based products. Seriously great snacks, vegan, non-gmo, Kosher, soy-free, dairy-free, high fiber and paleo friendly. Made for a healthy lifestyle with real whole food ingredients. A delicious option for vegetarian, vegan, and Celeste friendly diet. It's a perfect snack, meal replacement, breakfast on the go or helps to fuel or refuel before or after a workout. ALOHA HELPS. As a Certified B-Corp, ALOHA cares about more than just their products.

Brand: Aloha

👤I don't know what the old recipe tasted like, but I love how full these bars are. They help with digestion and cut down on cravings. I like that they are not very sweet and only have 14 net calories. It's going to be something I eat every day.

👤It's hard for me to find food and supplements that are free of dairy, soy, and Stevia. I try to eat all natural and organic foods. I need the Alohas line of products. I like the chocolate powder, coconut pre-mixed drink box and chocolate peanut butter bars, but I don't like the berry flavor. These products are great for breakfast, snacks, and pre/post workout supplements. The customer support is excellent. I had an issue with one of the deliveries and they gave me a refund and allowed me to keep the extra order. I highly recommend this company.

👤I love the bars of peanut butter chocolate chip. These bars have no soy. There is just the right amount of chocolate chips and there isn't a heavy peanut butter flavor. It pairs well with tea with coconut/almond. I keep one of these bars in my purse as an emergency snack.

👤I usually purchase the cookie dough flavor Aloha bars, and then purchase a variety pack to try other flavors. The cookie dough flavor bar in the variety pack is very different from the norm. I am concerned that I will throw out one of the China dupes I bought on Amazon.

👤I had an odd brain fog and headaches from these. I didn't eat them for a couple days, so I couldn't figure out why I was feeling this way. When I ate the first thing I ate in the morning, the brain fog and head pain was very noticeable. I had a friend of mine try them as well, and he felt the same effect. I think it is similar to when I have non-organic coffee first thing in the morning. They taste great, but not worth it.

👤These are a quick and healthy snack that I get all the time at drug stores. They coated the bars with chocolate. The coating is good. The bar is hard to choke down. I bought a whole box of them because I liked them before the changes. I'll get the chocolate/mint bars now.

👤I've tried some aloha bars. The chocolate fudge brownie was dry, flaky and messy. I would give that one a few stars. The chocolate cookie chip dough was soft, moist and delicious. I would rate that one 5 stars. I would have thought they were made by two different companies if I hadn't been aware of it.

👤These are very good. They are rich in chocolate and don't have that weird taste in their mouth. These only have 4g of sugar. I've gotten a lot of people hooked on these because they are so delicious, you'd think they were a candy bar. The old recipe for the 14g sugar ones are not as good as these. Enjoy!

6. Mainstay Emergency Food Rations Calorie

Mainstay Emergency Food Rations Calorie

The no-mess, no-melt snack or dessert can be stored for up to 3 years. There is no need for refrigeration. A pack of emergency food has a shelf life of 5 years. The US Coast Guard has standards. The requirement of SOLAS 74/83 is met. Both are Kosher and Halal. It is high in vitamins and minerals. There is noCholesterol or Tropical Oils. No peanut butter or peanut oil. There is no thievery provoking. The temperature can be as low as -40 F to 300F.

Brand: Mainstay

👤The bar was pristine and the vacuum seal held up well when I opened up the package eight years ago. It was the same as when it was packaged. I love the consistency of the short bread that it has. It was moist and non-thirsty. I was relieved to know that these last longer than the expire date. I'm going to throw the rest out and buy again because I can. The family had to taste a bit to make sure they would eat them. Some of them are very picky.

👤I bought a bunch of emergency ration for the family to sample and decide which ones they would rather have in our 72 hour kits. The winner in taste and texture was these. The flavor is very similar to a sugar cookie that you would buy at the store. It's easy to bite a piece off of the thick ration. The texture is the same as eating a cookie. I plan to keep these in my carry bag as a snack when I miss a meal. The highest score for the whole family was achieved by the ones that had the best flavor and texture. I plan to put two of the packages in the emergency kit. 1200 calories per day is not enough for me in a high-stress situation. When I finished the ration, I was not thirsty, even though I would appreciate a bit of water. In an emergency situation water may not be easy to come by.

👤There are two dangers to buying a product of this nature. 1. The shelf life of the items could be shortened by less than five years if the packaging is compromised. 2. The manufacture date could be outdated. They will have a shorter shelf life if they were not manufactured recently. The item arrived on time with intact factory sealed packaging. They were only 3 months into their five year shelf life at the time of purchase. TheLIABLE SELLER of this type of product

👤I have used Mainstay for 13 years. Datrex was always very dry, with an almost cardboard texture, before that time. I discovered the Mainstay ration at a fair. They stay fresh even after 5 years of storage in my emergency kit, and I carry 2 packs of the ration so I have enough for about 6 days in a true emergency.

👤Happy to report that the flavor is ok. It is a sugar cookie with a hint of lemon. When you separate the portions, they don't fall apart and turn to dust. The product is in its blocks. It doesn't have the cottonmouth effect so you won't be getting wet after eating it. I think this is the best one I have had so far. I get the full 5 years out of them because they were packaged this year.

👤A lot of people look for food to put in a go-bag. Emergency ration are not made for that situation. For a 72 hour situation, none of them have enough calories or calories at all. You should buy MRE's for your bag. The emergency ration is intended for a shelter where you are sitting all day and not using much energy. It might be days before you are rescued if you leave some in your car during the winter or the desert during the summer. They are not food. They are low energy survival food. The Mainstay bar has over 3000 calories in it. The package is not re-sealable. If it is raining or there are insects, the bar might be ruined if you don't eat it all. The package comes with a pre-portioned "cake" that you can break or cut. Most of the brands were sealed in 200 or 400 calories. The Mainstay bar can't be re-sealed, which is a weakness for this product. The Mayday brand is very soft. It has the same texture as a sugar cookie, but without the sugar flavor. It doesn't have any taste. If you ate 800 calories, you would get most of your vitamins and minerals. The food bars that I tried seem to be approved by the US Coast Guard, which makes them seem to be intended for use on a life raft. I will not be buying more of this brand because the wrapper cannot be re-sealed. If you keep the package in a bag until you need it, you can get around the issue. That is a possibility. The vitamins and calories in this brand are enough for a survival situation, but the fact that it can't be re-sealed is a major issue for me. These are not a snack, they are emergency ration and are not intended to taste good, so check my reviews of other survival bars. Unless you are injured, you should not eat for the first 24 hours. After a few days, you will not starve to death.

7. Katadyn NRG 5 Emergency Food Ration

Katadyn NRG 5 Emergency Food Ration

The weight of the box is 1.8 lbs. The bottle dimensions are 7.5 x W 5 x D. Emergency food ration is in waterproof packs and in a convenient pocket size. The biscuits are compressed high energy. Relief operations during natural or man-made disasters, emergency preparedness, outdoor activities, and as a food supplement are some of the uses of the NRG-5 ration. The air sealed packaging has a shelf life of 20 years. A 500g pack contains 9 individual bars with an energy value of 260 kcal each, which are vacuum-welded together in an aluminum foil. A 500g pack offers more than an average daily emergency of 1800-2000 kcal.

Brand: Katadyn

👤I bought two of them, one to try and the other to store for emergencies. Emergency ration bars are not meant for fun or very enjoyable situations. They're meant to provide energy and calories to keep you alive in a disaster. They're manageable if you're not picky. They're cheaper than most others, and better packed, and will take up less space. If you're careful, you can break off small pieces to eat without getting crumbs everywhere. They are wrapped individually in a vacuum sealed pack. If the sealed thing remains open, they will last up to 25 years. Have some water with you. If you don't have anything to drink, they'll be hard to eat. It's very unlikely for them to rot or mold because they have no water in them, which is a good thing. An economical emergency-pack choice. The box says it's made in Germany. I had some over a couple days. I had them as morning snacks to get me up and going, and maybe give me more energy to make more food. At first, they're not bad. If you chew slowly and don't rush yourself to choke it down, you will produce enough saliva to make it decent. Going slower is better for your digestion. So. I started to like it and was a little disappointed that I didn't have more to snack on. I had no issues after that. I think they're a good choice. They have a lot of sugar overall. What do you think the purpose of these is? These aren't fancy healthy meals you make from stuff you bought at WholeFoods. They're ration bars. It's meant to keep you alive long enough to get home in an emergency. Jeez, yeah. You're not supposed to eat them all the time. Some people don't know what survival ration is.

👤The survival ration is 25 years shelf stable and temperature stable. It's perfect to put in your boat, cabin or wherever you need it. If you want something that's not boring while you enjoy yourself at the gym or do selfies on a trail, go somewhere else. It tastes like a bag of mini wheats. It's designed to keep you alive if things get bad. Period. You need to make sure you have water in hand before you eat it, it will seriously dry your mouth out. There is no way to reseal it after opening it, so keep it in a bag. This is a survival ration. It is necessary to have shelf stability and ease of use in an emergency. It's not something that it is, stop trying to make it that way.

👤It is a good idea to trade calories for shelf live over life raft ration. I usually get 3600 calories life raft ration for $8 but they only have a 5 year shelf life. The flavor is ok but you will need water to drink. It is the equivalent of eating sweetened chalk. We don't buy these for a Saturday afternoon snack, but we do buy them for emergencies and for the calories, shelf live, and price they are well worth the investment.

8. Larabar Gluten Snack Variety 1 7oz

Larabar Gluten Snack Variety 1 7oz

Raise A Bar is a healthy snack with 100% real ingredients and no artificial sweeteners. Simple healthy snacks can be made by Larabar. The muffin pack includes Apple Pie, Blueberry Muffin, Cashew Cookie, Cherry Pie, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Coconut Cream Pie, Peanut butter, and Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip - a perfect way to find your favorite. It is simple to plant base clean emissions. A good source of fiber is vegan, dairy free, kosher, soy free, non-gmo and non-genetically modified. It's great for packing on the go, and perfect for anything from a morning treat to an afternoon snack. 1.7oz, 16 ct.

Brand: LĂ„rabar

👤I subscribe and save on Amazon to get these boxes. I was a little disappointed when we got our first box, but I thought it was a freak occurrence. The follow up box has more bars in it than the first one. Everything looks great until you open a bar or two and they are covered with mold.

👤I thought this pack was great. I was surprised to see so many negative reviews. I didn't have any issues with the bars. I like the flavor. I can understand why some people prefer different products, but I think they taste pretty good because there are only a few basic ingredients in each bar. I also have other bars that I like to eat. There are a lot of different flavors, all good, and can be switched between the 8 different flavors. The price for this item was good for 16 bars, I thought at the time of my purchase. It was a good snack when I'm too busy to cook for myself and want to have something decent.

👤I noticed mold when I opened some of the flavors. The one with the berry! Yuck!

👤I am so disappointed. A friend gave me one of these and I decided to purchase a variety pack so I could try some of their flavors. I opened the package yesterday and ate the coconut cream pie, it was fine. I opened a chocolate chip cookie dough. I knew it wasn't right. It has mold all over the bar and it smells of alcohol. They are supposed to be good because the date is May. I was really looking forward to these. Will be throwing the rest away.

👤Most of the bars were covered in white mold. It was throwing. I got them covered in mold at the end of December and they were to expire on Jan 18th. They sent me a new box and it's fine. There is no mold and experation date in months. I am very happy, but beware of mold. I got this brand because they don't have a lot of sugar and what sugar is there is natural from the fruit. The texture took a while to get used to, but they taste good and meet my needs, so I will probably buy them again.

👤I was excited when I received a variety pack just shipped to me. The bars in the box were not good.

👤I love having these on hand when I need a snack or a portable snack because there is no fresh fruit or dried fruit nearby. There is no added sugar. The minute exception is trace amounts to the chips in one bar. This is not a sugar free food, as the fruit sugar content as with all dates, cherries, apples etc. is significant if you are a diabetes patient and need to control this. It was worth the cost. It has helped me lose weight and keep it off while satisfying my cravings. It's best to have healthy whole real food for you and your family. Don't store and eat later in humid areas because of the issues with that. I don't like the risk of mold and the risk of having food that has been sprayed with a pesticide. The best snack food I've ever eaten is the best. I can't imagine bike rides without me. Other cyclists see me eating and are jealous.

9. Datrex Emergency Survival Calorie Ration

Datrex Emergency Survival Calorie Ration

The total of 180 bars with 200 calories per bar is in the value pack. It is packaged in a way that makes it easy to ration and store in your survival and disaster kit. The coconut flavor is superior and all natural. The small and lightweight is USCG approved and has a 5 year shelf life. A high energy value and ready to eat.

Brand: Datrex

👤I ordered a box of these to be used in case of an emergency, and I will never use them for anything else. These will help me get my daily intake up if something happens where regular food is hard to get for a short time. It could be supplemented by food storage or an extra sugar boost. For something you can quickly pack and eat on the go, they're decent. It's not bad. They're very brittle, so you could probably think of ways to make them better, but that would shorten their shelf life. The extraMoisture means they wouldn't last as long. Some reviewers leave because of how they don't hold together. You're probably getting these in case of an emergency, not as a delicious treat. I'm guessing that in an emergency you won't care that your food is hard. If there is a flood, earthquake, or other natural disaster, the stores will be closed for a while, and it could be days or weeks before anyone gets to you with any supplies. Are you really going to look at these and say "I'm starving, but they're not" when you're hungry? It's a good thing.

👤Datrex is a survival bar. Bars that stay stable for a long time. I have bought these many times because old ones have expired. They are usually 1-2 months old. I don't think every order will be fresh off the line. The clowns sent me bars in April. That is not acceptable with this product. The return cost should be left to the customer. I wouldn't recommend doing business with them.

👤The 10-pack was ordered by me. The bars were rolling around in the foil and the seals were broken. They're worthless as storage food because of the air leak. 40% of the order was wasted. Datrex is great food. Don't buy here.

👤I eat these for breakfast since I have high blood pressure. I have them in my car so I can get them at a lower price. It's pretty good but bland. I keep these in a sealed box to protect the seal. I had a couple of loose seals in a go bag. I suggest a hard box.

👤If I was out of food, I would try one but it would be a bad delivery or storage method. I don't know what they taste like, individual packages seem to be sealed, but the shipping box is old and damaged.

👤My package arrived yesterday. Some of the seals were broken, so I was a little concerned. All mine were sealed tight. These are perfect for BOB's because they are very small. My kids were allowed to try it last night. They all liked them and compared them to strange cookies, however they should not say that there is a bad taste. They have a slight hint of coconut, but no after taste. They go down quickly and don't leave you thirsty. I don't want to live on these things as they are small. You will get the calories you need, but it won't make you feel full. It's a great item for a bug out bag. You will be happy to have bad things.

10. Bear Essentials Survival Perishable Alternative

Bear Essentials Survival Perishable Alternative

A high energy value and ready to eat. Their survival supplies kit contains enough emergency food to last an adult 15 days, consuming 2,000 calories of emergency food per day, and a 20lb non-perishable food pack. Each pack of emergency supplies has undergone a stringent quality inspection. If they wouldn't consume these bulk food supplies ourselves, they wouldn't sell them. The perfect complement to your emergency preparedness items, this survival food with 25 year shelf life contains enough emergency ration to see you through any crisis situation. Their survival food kit is perfect for anyone who wants an MRE alternative, or who wants to avoid the risk of crowded grocery stores, because each box of survival essentials is a practical long term food. If you don't like their food survival kit, just let them know what the problem is and they'll do everything they can to make it right. Bear Essentials has excellent customer service and outstanding quality. Brand: Bear Essentials Survival

👤Not an MRE alternative. 5 large bags of dry ingredients cost more than what I could buy at the store and still require a pot and water to make. It's only useful in the ideal survival scenario. It is worthless for survival and a waste of money.

👤The bag is sealed with rice, beans, macaroni and pancake mix. It would be cheaper to buy it at the store. You need a pot and water to cook food. It is not like a MRE that you just add water and cook. The packaging is thick and seals tight. Customer service is great.

👤I was expecting a premade meal. The money was wasted.

👤It comes out to about 16 cents per 100 calories. You can't beat that. Some of it is white rice. It's in a package for 25 years. You have to replace it every couple years. I'm going to buy more. You could eat 1000 calories a day with the other 2 week supplies, but only if you had one box. Think about it. A family of 4 can have a month's supply of food for $200.

👤I bought these because I wanted to save them for a rainy day or flash flood, but I haven't opened them yet. I like the packaging, it makes it look nice to get a box of food, but I wish there was a different type of box for storage since I live in the Pacific Northwest and everything gets damp. I could put the food in a tote. The food is in a nice package. I thought it was cute that it told you when it was born. We can make it last for a while if we give a lot of serving for practical reasons. I was happy to get the emergency food and put it in a cute box. Maybe take it camping this summer.

👤It is a great price for a basic meal prep. It comes in a box that is crushed by your door. The company needs a better package after the contents were not damaged. I would buy one a month if it came better packaged. It is difficult to stack the product when the box is bulging. I'm going to buy some buckets to put it in. It seems to be good.

👤I don't buy military ration if there's no fuel or fire. This is a lot of food for a small amount of money. Having long lasting grains like this gives me some peace of mind.

👤I found that I should start just in case. The case was worth the price for a first timer. It doesn't take up much space in our limited storage and the packaging is secure, so there are no worries about anything going bad. The ingredients are straight forward and easy to make. I recommend!

11. Datrex 3600 Emergency Food Bar

Datrex 3600 Emergency Food Bar

Each bar can be eaten in six portions with a total of 2400 calories. There are 18 bars with 200 calories per bar. It is packaged in a way that makes it easy to ration and store in your survival and disaster kit. All natural ingredients with superior coconut flavor. The small and lightweight is USCG approved and has a 5 year shelf life. A high energy value and ready to eat.

Brand: Stansport

👤I got the full life from my pack, which was packed in July of last year. I bought this to see if it worked out. The directions say to eat 1 bar every 6 hours at sea and 4 hours on land. It's 4 bars per day since you won't be awake for 24 hours. You could go 4 days on that metric. I only had 3 bars on my first day. It's possible to go for 5 days. I only ate 25% of my normal intake, so I felt weaker throughout the day. I have a very physically demanding job. It's a good test to me. The bars are wrapped. They look like someone crushed a bunch of dog biscuits and compressed them into a bar that was three times as thick. The individual wrappers are not sealed. They are hard to unwrap, and you will have to break the bar into pieces to open it. The bar is very brittle and can easily fall. It's basically the same flavor as a slightly old graham cracker. You could put it on a cheese cake. If you drink a little water with it, you can have it in your mouth for a while.

👤The portable calories are waterproof. Perfect emergency food. There were no strong reactions among the people I've had try them. These are supposed to be coconut flavor, but I didn't like it at all, they taste like a graham cracker. It's a good thing that these are easy to eat for people with poor or no teeth as the texture is very crumbly. Emergency ration should be easy to eat and neutral. If you need to bust into these, there's no reason you should have to eat terrible food because the situation is already bad. They're not good enough for anyone to get into them without a need. Not good for frivolous snacking. When you last heard someone say "I'm craving some emergency ration!" Nope, me not. It helps if you aren't really good at making sure they're there when you need them. The outer package is easy to open, but the inner plastic shrink wrap on the individual bars was difficult to open. It is doable, but a knife or sharp object will make it easier. They made good s'mores. The leftovers from the tester packages were not as good as normal crackers, but we had to find something to do with them.

👤I haven't tried them yet because I purchased them for shelf storage. I only bought one pack because I wanted to try them, but my husband said no. My review is based on the packaging. I bought them on 4-13-2017. The manufacturing date is 9-15, and only just now been noticed. These are 1.5 years old. I know they have 3 years left on them, but when I asked the seller about the shelf life, he said they have a 5 year shelf life. All of our stock is new. I'm not happy that I'm losing shelf life, but I only paid $9 for them. I'm not going to complain to the company and have no plans to return them, but just be aware that when you receive them, they may not have 5 years of shelf storage left. The package was vacuum sealed and arrived quickly. The instructions are printed on them at sea and land. I don't have to worry about remembering. There are drinking water tips in emergency situations. I'll update my review if I can convince the husband to open them. If it had full shelf life, I would have given it 4 stars.
