👤A lot of people think these are not healthy. These are survival bars. They have a high calories to weight ratio and are shelf stable. I like the packaging, it's very air/water tight, and they taste good, I'd be happy to have something sweet in a survival situation. Health food can be found elsewhere.
👤These are not healthy. These are bars for survival. If lost on a hike, patriot sells them in bulk for 100 bucks for 30 days. The lemon taste of the other bars made me buy these. We didn't buy for taste, but to survive. My show ends on 3/25. The seal was fresh and strong. See my picture.
👤The coconut and cinnamon sos bars are small, but they have a good taste. I'm doing a challenge to eat sos bars. I would give it a try for an emergency situation, you never know when you might be in a tight spot.
👤There are 31 grams of sugar. Palm oil, Corn starch, wheat flour... I was looking for a bar with a lot of calories. These have toxic ingredients. Had to throw them out. It's SIGH!
👤I would never have bought these bars if I had known the high sugar content.
👤I opened one of the packages and it was great. The ration bars inside each pouch are sealed individually and kept fresh for days after opening the outer cover. It was weeks, actually. I put them in a container. I only used four bars over the last two weeks. That's using some for at least 4 breakfast smoothies and a couple of small snacks. A quarter of a bar makes a great snack, and I've added that same amount, all crumbled, to smoothies with fruit, yogurt, icewater, instant coffee, and it's great stuff! A quarter-bar is only about 62.5 calories, so it was a good time to get some first aid classes. I'm back in Coastal VA and I want to be prepared for the local disasters. I ordered the S.O.S. Rations double pack. Yes, COCONUT. The packages arrived quickly. It's all I can do. Oh, yeah, with it. I'm going to order more as soon as I finish this review. Great stuff, whether you want it for dessert or an emergency. I'm going to open a bottle of chianti and watch C-span.
👤Why are there so many people complaining about the taste and sugar content? These bars are used if you get lost in the forest. These are not for camping, diet or challenge. If you are worried about taste and sugar, you won't survive. It is plain and simple. If it gets so bad that you have to eat these, you will have what you find and eat, regardless of sugar content or taste. These are good for preppers. I thought I was prepared for Hurricane Katrina. I had a freezer full of frozen meats and food, a garage full of bottled water, and light canned goods. My home flooded into my second story. The freezer full of food became fish food because the generator no longer worked. If you keep food in multiple locations, it won't save you if it's under water.
A high energy value and ready to eat. Their survival supplies kit contains enough emergency food to last an adult 15 days, consuming 2,000 calories of emergency food per day, and a 20lb non-perishable food pack. Each pack of emergency supplies has undergone a stringent quality inspection. If they wouldn't consume these bulk food supplies ourselves, they wouldn't sell them. The perfect complement to your emergency preparedness items, this survival food with 25 year shelf life contains enough emergency ration to see you through any crisis situation. Their survival food kit is perfect for anyone who wants an MRE alternative, or who wants to avoid the risk of crowded grocery stores, because each box of survival essentials is a practical long term food. If you don't like their food survival kit, just let them know what the problem is and they'll do everything they can to make it right. Bear Essentials has excellent customer service and outstanding quality. If you don't like their food survival kit, just let them know what the problem is and they'll do everything they can to make it right. Bear Essentials has excellent customer service and outstanding quality.
👤Not an MRE alternative. 5 large bags of dry ingredients cost more than what I could buy at the store and still require a pot and water to make. It's only useful in the ideal survival scenario. It is worthless for survival and a waste of money.
👤The bag is sealed with rice, beans, macaroni and pancake mix. It would be cheaper to buy it at the store. You need a pot and water to cook food. It is not like a MRE that you just add water and cook. The packaging is thick and seals tight. Customer service is great.
👤I was expecting a premade meal. The money was wasted.
👤It comes out to about 16 cents per 100 calories. You can't beat that. Some of it is white rice. It's in a package for 25 years. You have to replace it every couple years. I'm going to buy more. You could eat 1000 calories a day with the other 2 week supplies, but only if you had one box. Think about it. A family of 4 can have a month's supply of food for $200.
👤I bought these because I wanted to save them for a rainy day or flash flood, but I haven't opened them yet. I like the packaging, it makes it look nice to get a box of food, but I wish there was a different type of box for storage since I live in the Pacific Northwest and everything gets damp. I could put the food in a tote. The food is in a nice package. I thought it was cute that it told you when it was born. We can make it last for a while if we give a lot of serving for practical reasons. I was happy to get the emergency food and put it in a cute box. Maybe take it camping this summer.
👤It is a great price for a basic meal prep. It comes in a box that is crushed by your door. The company needs a better package after the contents were not damaged. I would buy one a month if it came better packaged. It is difficult to stack the product when the box is bulging. I'm going to buy some buckets to put it in. It seems to be good.
👤I don't buy military ration if there's no fuel or fire. This is a lot of food for a small amount of money. Having long lasting grains like this gives me some peace of mind.
👤I found that I should start just in case. The case was worth the price for a first timer. It doesn't take up much space in our limited storage and the packaging is secure, so there are no worries about anything going bad. The ingredients are straight forward and easy to make. I recommend!
There are 18 bars of each flavor in the case. Zbars are packed in 6 boxes. Whole Grain and soft-BAKED food are included. Zbar is a snack bar made with 8-11g whole grains and is a good source of fiber. CLIF Kid cares about the planet just as much as your kids. Zbar is certified as organic and non-GMO. Zbar is free from ingredients that parents are looking to avoid, such as high fructose corn syrup, artificial flavors, and synthetic preservatives.
👤I would give 5 stars but it would be cheaper at Sam's Club. The price of everything else on here has been jacked up due to the coronaviruses, so these used to be cheaper as well. They're good but not worth $29.
👤These are my daughter's favorite snack food and a real life saver for me as I make most of her other meals from scratch. They are very sweet without being too sweet. I like the fact that they do not contain rice as a flour or sweetener. This was a great deal on her 2 favorite flavors, and I was able to find a sale when we needed to stock up.
👤My kids like these when I buy them at the store. The first order we received was melted and the box was damaged, it was the fault of the delivery personnel. The next box arrived undamaged and was replaced by Amazon. They expired by a month.
👤Half of the boxes were great, but the other half was hard. I thought my kids were exaggerating when I tried it. Couldn't cut it with a steak knife. If they were fresh, it would have been a great value, but we had to throw out half of them.
👤I consume these bars while cycling as a retired adult. The bars are energy bars. They're good for an energy boost during strenuous activity. I find it easier to consume small bars during my rides. Clif Kid Zbar is a good alternative to the sweet energy drinks I dislike.
👤I have been saving for years for the 18 bar pack of chocochip. Amazon decided to stop selling things. I went with this pack because I tried to adjust. The quality is awful, and inconsistent at best. I will go to trader j's for these now. Blech...
👤My kids like these. My kids have special needs and they eat food that makes them happy.
👤The price was better than in store. Kid loves em and they are relatively healthy. There were no old expired dates on the ones we got.
Each bar can be eaten in six portions with a total of 2400 calories. There are 18 bars with 200 calories per bar. It is packaged in a way that makes it easy to ration and store in your survival and disaster kit. All natural ingredients with superior coconut flavor. The small and lightweight is USCG approved and has a 5 year shelf life. A high energy value and ready to eat.
👤I got the full life from my pack, which was packed in July of last year. I bought this to see if it worked out. The directions say to eat 1 bar every 6 hours at sea and 4 hours on land. It's 4 bars per day since you won't be awake for 24 hours. You could go 4 days on that metric. I only had 3 bars on my first day. It's possible to go for 5 days. I only ate 25% of my normal intake, so I felt weaker throughout the day. I have a very physically demanding job. It's a good test to me. The bars are wrapped. They look like someone crushed a bunch of dog biscuits and compressed them into a bar that was three times as thick. The individual wrappers are not sealed. They are hard to unwrap, and you will have to break the bar into pieces to open it. The bar is very brittle and can easily fall. It's basically the same flavor as a slightly old graham cracker. You could put it on a cheese cake. If you drink a little water with it, you can have it in your mouth for a while.
👤The portable calories are waterproof. Perfect emergency food. There were no strong reactions among the people I've had try them. These are supposed to be coconut flavor, but I didn't like it at all, they taste like a graham cracker. It's a good thing that these are easy to eat for people with poor or no teeth as the texture is very crumbly. Emergency ration should be easy to eat and neutral. If you need to bust into these, there's no reason you should have to eat terrible food because the situation is already bad. They're not good enough for anyone to get into them without a need. Not good for frivolous snacking. When you last heard someone say "I'm craving some emergency ration!" Nope, me not. It helps if you aren't really good at making sure they're there when you need them. The outer package is easy to open, but the inner plastic shrink wrap on the individual bars was difficult to open. It is doable, but a knife or sharp object will make it easier. They made good s'mores. The leftovers from the tester packages were not as good as normal crackers, but we had to find something to do with them.
👤I haven't tried them yet because I purchased them for shelf storage. I only bought one pack because I wanted to try them, but my husband said no. My review is based on the packaging. I bought them on 4-13-2017. The manufacturing date is 9-15, and only just now been noticed. These are 1.5 years old. I know they have 3 years left on them, but when I asked the seller about the shelf life, he said they have a 5 year shelf life. All of our stock is new. I'm not happy that I'm losing shelf life, but I only paid $9 for them. I'm not going to complain to the company and have no plans to return them, but just be aware that when you receive them, they may not have 5 years of shelf storage left. The package was vacuum sealed and arrived quickly. The instructions are printed on them at sea and land. I don't have to worry about remembering. There are drinking water tips in emergency situations. I'll update my review if I can convince the husband to open them. If it had full shelf life, I would have given it 4 stars.
Can draw from almost any fresh water source. The water is lightweight and extremely compact. Individual sachets are ideal for storage. 60 ft3 (1.70 m3) is the pallet volume. It's easy to put in a survival kit with a pre-measured sachet. Such, Canadian Coast guard, EC and New Zealand approval.
👤I am a prepper nerd and I have been checking the water being sold in these small pouches. Many are just tap water and bags. The total dissolved solids are referred to as theTDS. I have seen a range from 100-300 parts per million. The water is pure. I did a simple test here and the lab tested it and both came out as 4 parts per million. The purity of the water is 10 parts per million. The soft taste and slightly acidic PH of around 5 is what Reverse Osmosis Water has been heavily Filters through for taste. Very happy with the package.
👤I received a case of water with an expired date on it. The bottom of the box was wet, so I knew we had a leak when I put the case with my emergency storage. When I opened the case to look for the leaking packet of water, I found that all but 19 of the 64 packs had expired by the time I received the package. The other 19 were older. They had a date in the future. One of the 2 water paks that were unexpired had a leak. It was as if this company tried to hide the expired water in a different case and then placed enough paks over the top of those to try to pass it off as okay. They would have fooled me if one of the packs had not leaked. This company was dishonest.
👤We bought a box of these to distribute among our bags. We haven't tasted it yet, but we hope we never have. It doesn't sound romantic to drink out of a plastic packet. I'm happy to have it. It looks like it's a great backup for water in your house, car, bug out bags, whatever you can think of. Many of them come in a box and are very affordable. If you need some water in an emergency, you can distribute them among the various areas of your life. The packets are very lightweight and durable. I think it's very sturdy and should be cut with a knife to puncture it. They arrived quickly, packaged well and were a good value. We are looking forward to never using them. My wife and I found this one to be the best emergency water out there, but there are many other brands, and you can find a different one that you like better. Other options include water tablets, water bottles, and so on. Depending on your circumstances, you may want to look at other options. I am very happy with what we received and I look forward to never having to use them.
👤This is a big part of my bags and I want to give it 5 stars. There were two pouches inside the box. There were no visible tears or cuts on the bags, they just leaked out of the seals. The book that Amazon had packed in the same box was damaged when the water leaked out of the box. They were packing a book in the same box as a case of water. The water in the undamaged pouch is fine. The one I opened was packed in the year of 2017: it was fresh and clean.
The weight of the box is 1.8 lbs. The bottle dimensions are 7.5 x W 5 x D. Emergency food ration is in waterproof packs and in a convenient pocket size. The biscuits are compressed high energy. Relief operations during natural or man-made disasters, emergency preparedness, outdoor activities, and as a food supplement are some of the uses of the NRG-5 ration. The air sealed packaging has a shelf life of 20 years. A 500g pack contains 9 individual bars with an energy value of 260 kcal each, which are vacuum-welded together in an aluminum foil. A 500g pack offers more than an average daily emergency of 1800-2000 kcal.
👤I bought two of them, one to try and the other to store for emergencies. Emergency ration bars are not meant for fun or very enjoyable situations. They're meant to provide energy and calories to keep you alive in a disaster. They're manageable if you're not picky. They're cheaper than most others, and better packed, and will take up less space. If you're careful, you can break off small pieces to eat without getting crumbs everywhere. They are wrapped individually in a vacuum sealed pack. If the sealed thing remains open, they will last up to 25 years. Have some water with you. If you don't have anything to drink, they'll be hard to eat. It's very unlikely for them to rot or mold because they have no water in them, which is a good thing. An economical emergency-pack choice. The box says it's made in Germany. I had some over a couple days. I had them as morning snacks to get me up and going, and maybe give me more energy to make more food. At first, they're not bad. If you chew slowly and don't rush yourself to choke it down, you will produce enough saliva to make it decent. Going slower is better for your digestion. So. I started to like it and was a little disappointed that I didn't have more to snack on. I had no issues after that. I think they're a good choice. They have a lot of sugar overall. What do you think the purpose of these is? These aren't fancy healthy meals you make from stuff you bought at WholeFoods. They're ration bars. It's meant to keep you alive long enough to get home in an emergency. Jeez, yeah. You're not supposed to eat them all the time. Some people don't know what survival ration is.
👤The survival ration is 25 years shelf stable and temperature stable. It's perfect to put in your boat, cabin or wherever you need it. If you want something that's not boring while you enjoy yourself at the gym or do selfies on a trail, go somewhere else. It tastes like a bag of mini wheats. It's designed to keep you alive if things get bad. Period. You need to make sure you have water in hand before you eat it, it will seriously dry your mouth out. There is no way to reseal it after opening it, so keep it in a bag. This is a survival ration. It is necessary to have shelf stability and ease of use in an emergency. It's not something that it is, stop trying to make it that way.
👤It is a good idea to trade calories for shelf live over life raft ration. I usually get 3600 calories life raft ration for $8 but they only have a 5 year shelf life. The flavor is ok but you will need water to drink. It is the equivalent of eating sweetened chalk. We don't buy these for a Saturday afternoon snack, but we do buy them for emergencies and for the calories, shelf live, and price they are well worth the investment.
Also, note: When the oxygen has been removed, bags may not shrink like vacuum bags. Absorbers only absorb 21% of the air, which is oxygen. The air volume will be gone about 1/3 of the time. The apple-cinnamon flavor is pleasant. It is easy to store an optimal balance of cholesterol and vitamins. Each bar can be eaten in six portions with a total of 2400 calories.
👤You should ignore anyone who reviews this on the basis of how it tastes. This is not a camping or hiking snack. When you find yourself trapped in the wilderness or in your own home after a disaster, survival ration tastes bland or bad to discourage excessive eating. These taste ok. It was kind of a cinnamon shortbread. For its intended use, texture and quality are fine. I have received 6 of these packages so far and all of them have been sealed perfectly. I put a second layer of vacuum plastic over my survival food to protect it from accidental puncturing and to extend its lifespan. If you get any that have a vacuum loss, just eat it or throw it away. Poor handling in transit or a minor factory defect are the reasons why they're not worth a 1 star review. The calories come out to $.001 per calories. I've been searching for and buying long term storage emergency ration for over a decade and never have I found a better price in the market. Put these in a box in the back of a closet and then buy a bunch of canned and dry foods for your "shtf" meals. These calories are not a meal replacement. To make sure you're getting something resembling real sustenance, keep a bottle of multi vitamins, a few gallons of water, and a couple pounds of freeze dried potatoes or rice nearby. I'm up to 15. I haven't had a single issue with them losing vacuum. Don't let bad luck deter you from purchasing these. If you keep buying these low cost alternatives, the price gougers will start lowering their prices.
👤It appears to be a single pack.
👤The product is not accurate. One pack is not 4 days of food, but one day of food. This product has a shelf life of 5 years and will last 2 years. I am angry with the seller for misrepresenting the product. I would love to have my money back. I could shop locally and find a better deal.
👤We thought we were getting a box of four, not one bar. The image showed four. Since that time, it has changed. The price for 4 seems reasonable. The cost for one is out of line. The product was useless because of the broken vacuum seal. The bars are good for emergency food. We've bought them from local retailers before. The experience of this seller was not great.
👤I ordered 8 boxes and got 8 bars that were not a good value and the bars were good but not at this price.
👤The vacuum seal wasn't intact. The company uses an illustration that shows 4 packages. Caveat emptor is not for purchase.
👤Any type of emergency food is very expensive. These single packs are also selling other places for $20+ each. Also. For $5, you get 2400 calories and a 5 year shelf life, which is a good deal for something that you can just open and eat. You can get these from Wal-mart for five cents cheaper than Amazon will charge, but you have to order four of them. It's a very dense bread type bar. More powdery than bread, like gingerbread. It tastes like a sweet dessert with a hint of cinnamon. It's not something I'd go out of my way to snack on, but it tastes good and is similar to a dense bar. It doesn't taste bad like other emergency ration bars that taste like chemicals or gross. There are some that are my favorite for taste and price. It's worth $5 to have a car glove box and all your backpacks. Just in case. If you break it into the six 400 calories sections, you'll get one of these.
A good source of whole grains. Each variety pack contains 16 delicious snacks, including original Zbar, Zbar Protein and Zfruit. It was designed to ruin. The blend of fat, fiber, andCarbohydrates make it good for kids to snack on and give them energy to keep moving. CLIF Kid cares about the planet just as much as they do. All of their products are non-GMO and contain organic ingredients. Their products are free from high-fructose corn syrup and artificial flavors, which are things parents want to avoid. The taste is delicious. Kids love a variety of flavors.
👤I almost gave my nephew a bar of oatmeal. My sister caught him before he bit her. The wrapper had small holes and cuts all over it. Before feeding children, please check the bars and wrappers.
👤I can understand that the listing says flavors may vary, but I don't think it's right that the lead image shows no peanut butter flavors and the pack you receive contains 75% peanut butter.
👤Our kids liked them so we swore by them. We had a monthly subscription to them. Half of the bars in the box were taken up by a peanut butter flavor. None of our children like it. We had to cancel our subscription. Why did they add this flavor and so many of them in one box? Very disappointing!
👤The variety box had a perfect blend of flavors and options, and they were all quite good. You can tell that you are eating a clean and good quality meal by the consistency and the amount of sugar in it. The reason I gave 4 stars is because the bars are so low in the amount ofProtein that I thought they were 5 stars. If you're looking for a good snack, look elsewhere. This is a great option if you want a snack that the kids will love.
👤I bought these for my daughter, but I think I've eaten more of them than she has. The flavors in the variety pack were described in the description and we received everything. It was well packaged and shipped by both Amazon and a cute box, which is impressive given how soft some of the bars are. I don't like having to try a product for the first time, but I think this was a pleasant surprise. The flavors are on. We've tried the chocolate brownie and iced oatmeal cookie. One of the best bars I've ever tried. The oatmeal cookie is my favorite. You would think that it would be really sweet, but it's not, it's really balanced. The energy bars are not hard at all. I would feel comfortable feeding this to a younger child, because they're so soft. You would have to judge that for yourself. I haven't tried the bars that came with it, but I can tell from the packaging that they are very firm. They are not large bars. I find them very filling. The fruit twists look good. My daughter likes them and that's good for me. The cute little box is what it was shipped in. It's great to keep them out of the trash. I have arthritis and the packaging for the bars is easy for me to open, so it's reasonable to assume that most children would be able to open these themselves. I would have to rate this as a 9. The bars have a good taste and are well thought out, but I wish they had more nutrition. I would like to see an equal number of all the flavors. It's a personal preference. If your school allows it, it's a good starter kit for a classroom snack box or even to send off your college age kid. I paid almost a dollar per bar for this box. Sometimes you can get what you pay for, even if it's a little expensive.
Emergency ration food bar. A pack of emergency food has a pre-measured 400 calories and a 5 year shelf life. The US Coast Guard has standards. The requirement is SOLAS 74/83. There is no thievery provoking. The temperature can be as low as -40 F to 300F. There is noCholesterol or Tropical Oils. No peanut butter or peanut oil.
👤The package arrived on time, well packaged, and with 4 years and 3 months left of the 5-year expiration. Will save for an emergency.
👤It is easy to store. It's a great way to make sure you have some calories.
👤It's not a Tbone, but it's pretty good with a cup of coffee I bought 5 years ago, and it's about out of date. I like them so I'm ordering a few more to keep my emergency food stocked.
👤It was in good condition when it arrived. The production date was in September. I haven't tried them yet, but I'm pleased with the way they're going.
👤Just in case, it's great to have it on your shelf.

👤I don't like to eat breakfast in the morning, but I need to have something with my medication. These bars are good and filling, so my medication doesn't upset my stomach.
👤Product was in perfect order and shape. The price is good. Lots of flavors the guys loved.
👤These are my favorites. I will have one for breakfast. I'm set for a long time. My favorite is the one with my favorite flavor of peanut butter. Excellent taste! I have to stop snacking on them.
👤The family went to Egypt. We had these for snacks during the two week trip, I bought a box of them. There were 8 different flavors. I don't get to try Clif or any other kind of bars so it was great to sample the different flavors. The peanut butter crunch was my favorite. I used them for long day hikes. Light. It is easy to carry. Provides the calories I need. They taste great.
👤Good price. I liked the variety in this pack. They seemed dryer than in the past. I'm not sure what happened there, it's about 6 months from now. Most likely will not buy again.
👤When you don't have a lot of time to eat, this is a great snack to have on hand. I use a banana when I travel. There are lots of flavors. Definitely worth a try.
👤If you like cookies and cookie dough, this is a brand for you.
👤I bought the variety pack to see which one I liked the most. Most are pretty good. There are some that are not so good. Someone else might like all of them. The variety pack allowed me to know which flavor I like the most.
👤Can't argue with the price.
The benefits of a soy-free diet are provided by safe, sustainable ingredients. The package contains 9g Protein and 5g Fieber. Plant-based fiber and energy from plants keep you moving. There are multiple climates. A mix of natural ingredients provide a quick and filling meal. You can feel good knowing that you are feeding your body with healthy ingredients. Non-GMO project verification: PROBAR products are non-GMO.
👤When I received my Variety Pack of ProBars, I ripped open the Amazon box and the box on the porch. Excited to try the muffin before my wife gets home. I knew she would want half as we had discussed how we wanted to try it. I may be exaggerating a bit. I looked at the picture to see what flavors were in the Variety Pack and I found that the one I wanted to try was the one with the berry flavor. We were disappointed that it wasn't there. We found a new product in its place, which is likely to be a big hit. We also bought a pack of Banana Nut Bread ProBars. She thought these were great when she tried them at work. I was pleasantly surprised that it was quite good, but I didn't expect it to be as good as she was. The Variety Pack has an expiration date hidden under the flap, while the bars have a date printed on them. There are two Banana Nut Bread bars in the picture. I'm being picky, but when am I not? I have to pull the flap up out of the way so I can see the ingredients and the serving is only half a bar. You bet! We decided to rate the bars from the Variety Pack on a scale of 1 to 5. 5 for most good and 1 for least good. Our taste ratings are complete for all of them. I thought we would like them first. It didn't turn out to be our preference all that way through, but the one we tried last did turn out to be one of only two that we both gave a five. She likes it more than I do. Superberry & Greens: 4 - 3. It was rated higher than expected. The Superfruit Slam is 4 - 3. It was rated higher than expected. We wouldn't buy this again. The Slam is called the Superfood Slam. The combine rating of the ProBars was the lowest. I'm pretty sure taste isn't everything. It's a good thing. There is a Almond Cashew Crunch: 3 - 3. Hey! We agree on the first one. If it was the last one on the shelf, we would probably not buy a box of these, but we would eat them. Which, in this case. A good tasting peanut butter bar that we will buy again by the box. The Banana Nut Bread is 5 - 4. The bar was the one that got us started on ProBars. She loves buying them at work. She gave it a score of 5. I've never been a fan of mom's banana nut bread, but this does taste like it. I don't like nuts in breads, but I liked this bar better than I thought, and I gave it a 4. Oatmeal Chocolate Chip: 4 - 4 again! You can buy by the box. The chocolate coconut is 5 - 5. The first pair of 5s. It tastes like a health version of a favorite candy bar. She had to have a fractional rating for this. I followed with my own. She might buy a box of these. What a dilemma! : There is a The peanut butter chocolate chip is 5 - 5 This was supposed to be the best bar in my order. We agreed that it was a 5. Will get a box on our next order.
