👤The Boy Scout troop decided that it would be best if they stopped using propane lanterns. I bought three different lanterns and my troop, and they all had the same reasons. It was unanimous that the ToughLight was the best lantern. The troop received 3 additional ToughLight lanterns. I cannot stress this enough, the ToughLight lantern is well built. The Boy Scouts tend to put equipment through more extreme uses, so we think this lantern will survive. Simple operation. Press the button to flash it off. It sounds silly but other electric lanterns are not as easy to use and one ends up getting blinded while they do figure out the operation. It is not very heavy, so don't carry it with you. It is waterproof and has no water inside, but it is lighter than other lanterns. More than enough to see everything. We used this setting all week at summer camp. Extra light is needed a bit further out. Setting up camp/fire might involve collecting wood. We only used this setting during the week. During our week-long summer camp, we have used ToughLight lanterns twice. The Lanterns lasted the whole week with at least another 36 hours of battery left. These lanterns are great for summer camp and can be used for 5 nights in a row. - The scoutmaster says that they still hold a charge. The lanterns have proven to be tough, as far as I can tell, no part has broken on any of the lanterns. We have 4 lanterns and all of them hold a charge very well and are on a shelf for months at a time. No broken parts on any of the lanterns.

👤I bought this light from an ad that other campers were buying as well. This is the best lantern I have ever owned. I am very impressed with how strong it is. I have been using it around the house to test it out and it is really bright on the highest setting and lights up my entire family room. The website of the company explains everything in a clear way. The user's manual has tips for using the light. My favorite tip is to hold the light at your side and the cap that throws light around you but not in your eyes. Don't buy expensive batteries again. The light lasts for 50,000 hours and then it is recycled. The range of the battery is high, medium, and low. There is a light that can be used to find it. The battery life indicator is there. It is almost dead in case you need to ration out light use. There is a cell phone battery. Someone can find you in an emergency. There is a red light feature. It is water and drop resistant. The battery compartment has a charging cable in it. It can be hung in many different places. It was very easy to apply for the 2 year warranty. The company will give you an order number to track the email. I will follow up in the future to let you know how it goes but so far I am very pleased with this product and highly recommend it!

👤This was purchased to modify and install a led inside. It was made well and it was decent made. The battery is a hybrid. The led was wired in and I measured the voltage. On low: 2.68v, on high: 3.06. A generic chip is mounted on a star board. It is likely capable of more power. It has two modes, a low and a high. The feature is nice, but just 30 seconds of cranking will get you a decent run time. It was on for over five minutes on low. There are 3 tiny screws that hold the top part of the lantern down. It is possible that it may get pulled off over time. It is well constructed and the price is not too bad.

👤Let the light shine! My previouslantern style light used non-rechargeable batteries and was big and bulky. When I needed to change out my cable in the attic, I found this light to be a great light. It's perfect for other needs when a flashlight isn't right. I put this in a clear plastic bag and hang it on a command hook on the back of the bathroom doors, so I will know where it is if the power goes out. I will put one in each of the vehicles glove boxes. I didn't receive this product for free or at a reduced price, so I didn't make an "unbiased" review. I paid for it myself. I did not receive compensation to review the product. The above review is my opinion after using the product. So there!

👤These are my first impressions after receiving this light. I will update this review after camping. It was a little smaller than I expected, at 3 1/2 inch diameter and 5 1/2 inch tall. It is 5.90oz and weighs 0.270 lbs. After only a few minutes of "winding," it was brighter than I had expected. I didn't like the plastic that was used in the lantern because it was thin and easily creased when the halves were pulled apart. I believe that over time, this will tear or wear into it. .... The lantern cost a little more than other sources but it feels better made to me. I think that I can replace the diffuser with milk jug plastic if it does fail, since it will save the lantern for use but lose the compactness of collapsing it. I have some small battery lanterns that use a spring and a cloth tube, I may look into doing something similar if the need arises.

👤One of the most useful items I've ever purchased! It was in time for a power outage last winter. I was able to use the solar panel I bought to hook up theusb charging device because I was able to crank them for good power lighting most of the time. The panel in my south-facing kitchen window gave me a lot of light in both compressed and expanded mode. I'm buying more. These should be in the emergency kit or go-bag.

👤I needed a light that was lightweight to take with me on the trip. Needed more than a flashlight. Light is secured for packing. To determine how long a set of batteries would last, I put the supplied batteries in one and Duracell batteries in the other. After 13 hours the one with supplied batteries was noticeably dimmer. The supplied battery lantern was not as bright as I had expected. I turned on lanterns every morning. One of the lanterns was almost out but it was still lighting up. The quality of the lanterns appears well made and sturdy, but the packing will be the real test. One night, two lanterns were hung in a dark yard and they provided an amazing amount of illumination. These will be useful, but hopefully I won't need them for a while.

👤These are bright for a while. That's okay. It's not okay to replace the batteries after they burn out, and the switch seems to burn out or break, who knows what. The lanterns are good for one set of batteries. The lamp never works again after you put in fresh batteries and experiment with putting in batteries with the lamp open or closed. Just an update... I had a similar experience with three of the lanterns. I threw the fourth lantern away because I didn't want to bother with it. The "manufacturer" offered to replace the lanterns. I need lanterns that I can count on, so I'm not bothering to get more. I am very happy with the Rayovac SE3DLNOR Sportsman, and I ordered it. It works and is more expensive.

👤Don't let the size fool you, these are great little lanterns. The little guys are bright. I bought them for bad weather. I've used them to walk the dog at night and during power outages. If you don't have a light in your closet, putting a lantern in each room will light them all up. You will not feel bad about it. By purchasing this retailers products, you are helping them carry out their lifelong dream of planting more trees and restoring forests around the globe. 5% of their profit goes to make the wilderness and our world a better place for everyone. They did not pay me to put this in my review. I want to take care of our earth for our future generations.

👤I bought them to use during the storm. They worked for hours and ran on double AA batteries. Big batteries are used by most other brands. The batteries last for 2 days. When you want to not blind someone else in the house, you can adjust the amount of light you want. They are made well. Everyone in my neighbor's hood liked the lights and when I told them what I paid they were shocked. They want to buy them now. A great price for a great product. I am not sure what we would have done without these lights. I would recommend them to everyone.

4. UCO Candlelier Deluxe Candle Lantern

UCO Candlelier Deluxe Candle Lantern

The 2 year warranty is for cars. The Tough Light has a 30 day money back guarantee and a 2 year warranty against defects. Provides adequate light, warms surroundings, and helps remove condensation. The heat shield can be used to heat small amounts of water or food. The chimney and candle tubes have viewing slots. The construction is lightweight and durable. Carrying handle and twist-lock base.

Brand: Uco

👤Several years ago, I bought a lantern and it works perfectly today. I bought three more for myself and two for a friend. The candles were squared off on two sides. Maybe a change had been made in the manufacturing or third party supplier. The same way I've done it with my older model dozens of times. The springs seemed to work well. The flaw in the candle design resulted in catastrophic failure. The melted wax poured down into the spring chamber because of the flattened sides of the candles. The melting process was compounded by the fact that the candle melted down inside the spring chamber. The candles melted down and the base was filled with wax. It took an hour to get the candle mess cleaned up. I have a lot of original candles that I will use in the new lantern. Hopefully this will solve the problem. The lantern would have been a waste of time and money if not for it. The original unit has never failed me. I have noticed in the reviews for the refill candles that they are the same shape as the original candles, so I will not be able to refill with original candles. Too bad that a great product is ruined by cost cutting and poor quality control.

👤I did a quick and easy review. I will change depending on the outcome. Very, very dangerous. Wax leaks everywhere when candles don't feed properly. There are photos of a finger covered in silvadene. I've been testing all 3 UCO 3 candle chandeliers and 2 singles because I'm an idiot. For now, singles are fine. Adding a new candle is something that needs to be reviewed. There are three Chandeliers. One candle doesn't burn well and has wax all over it. Look at what dripped on the sink. If that tells you anything, you should test over a sink.

👤I bought this for camping. I am not a big fan of candles. Candle light is warm and relaxing. It can easily be beat by the led head lamp. I burned through the first 3 candles to see how long it would last. I got over 11 out of the candles that were rated at 9 hours. They melted into the bottom of the lantern. You should change the candle when it disappears above the site window. You will regret it if you don't. If the candle gets hot enough, it will melt in the holder and spread all over the place. If the tube is hardened, this will make it difficult to disassemble. Dropping the parts into the boiling water will fix the mess. Don't use your good pan for this, or do it outside if you don't want wax on. The melted wax will be sprayed all over the place. Liquid Paraffin or lamp oil can be used to clean the hardened wax film. After removing the wax film from the parts, you will need to wipe it off. It is warm enough to keep the wax liquid. Cleaning after a meltdown can be difficult. Make sure you desiccate the wet wax before trying to recover it. The candles were inside at 77F. The candles softened. I got a single lantern at the same time and it burned for 12.5 hours. The candles in the candelier melted down on me. One jammed and burned into the holder, the other turned to liquid when it got near the top. I find it distressing that important maintenance information is missing. The Made in China logo is not good. The specialty candles are expensive. The candles will heat the water in a small pot. I was able to melt wax from a different candle holder. I think the candles are best to be used for 4 hours or less at a time. I didn't send it back because I wasn't impressed or disappointed. I intended the candelier to light the common areas of the house during a power outage. It is still useful because I understand its limitations.

5. Stonebriar Burning Unscented Pillar Candles

Stonebriar Burning Unscented Pillar Candles

Their candles are dipped in the best quality wax to ensure a long lasting burn time. The candles are made with cotton and are smoke and fire free. The pillar candles are the perfect size for large and medium candle lanterns, glass hurricanes, centerpiece, fireplace, and mantel decorations. Candle set can be used as every day decor, decoration, unity candles for weddings, or emergency candles. Each pillar candle is wrapped in a sturdy cardboard box to make sure it arrives undamaged.

Brand: Stonebriar

👤They made these with a substance that does not burn. The center of what does burn is a small diameter. That is not wax. This product is deceptive and should be removed from the Amazon store. I don't write reviews but I do need to hear this before you buy.

👤These candles are really weird. It has a bumpy texture and is all ragged. They burn a ton, and leave a shell that collapses, leaving giant chips of wax on the table I have them on. I have thrown away many handfuls of wax, including the melted wax that spilled out after one of the giant outer-shell chips fell off. If you don't plan to burn them, they're lovely for decoration. I was pretty disappointed that they are not functional for burning.

👤They are less expensive than other candles. They burn really weird, as they burn down, they leave an exterior shell that is really unattractive and skewed. I took a picture and you can make your own decision. I will throw these out. I will not use them so they cost more.

👤The candles looked beautiful and had a smooth exterior. The picture shows that they almost immediately started having a weird burn and wax leaking out of their lips. I have been burning candles. Poor quality and does not look very nice at all. I would not recommend that there are better candles out there.

👤The way these candles are lit is not even. I got what I paid for after purchasing a six pack. The first two burned in different ways and one burned down one side, but a hole developed and the wax dripped onto the table. When I burn these candles, I have to make sure that the wax around the top is evenly distributed so that this doesn't happen again. Won't buy again.

👤35 hours? A day and a half? Are they not in their minds? This thing lived for over 6 hours. The glass lantern was ruined because it burned so hot and fast. I had it in my possession. There was wax pouring everywhere.

👤Don't spend your money on candles. The candle should be finished before the candle burns out, but it only burns 1/3 down the candle. The first 3 candles I've burned out of the box of 6 have burned out with the candle still left in it. The money was wasted.

👤The candle is thick and good for burn time, but will have some tunneling issues. The tunneling can be made asymmetrical by the way the wick leans. If you try to leave the candle lit long enough to reach the rim, the edge will melt and leak wax, which will defeat the purpose of buying a candle for long burn time. It's nice to reach all the way down to the candle. The last inch of the candle is curled inwards so it will look like it has two wicks. I didn't realize until I saw the flame being lit. It's not a problem because you should be nearby and watching. The candle pack is great for value.

6. MalloMe LEDs Camping Lantern Flashlights

MalloMe LEDs Camping Lantern Flashlights

Each lamp comes in one of four eye-catching colors: Midnight Black, Colorado Gold, Forest Green and River Blue. The lanterns are built to last and are made with the highest quality materials. They have over 100,000 hours of lifespan on their light. You'll always be prepared, because no more second guessing your emergency light supplies. If you're after an awesome addition to someone's camping essentials or camping accessories, or you simply want the best-in-class led lantern to prepare for all situations, this set is the tactical choice.

Brand: Mallome

👤I ordered the MallowMe Camping Lanterns. I paid the normal Amazon price for both products, and haven't been contacted by either company for this review or comparison. I am only doing it because I am sad to compare lanterns. The plastic shells and metal handles are the same. I'm 99% sure they came out of the same mold. The lighting elements are the same as the clear plastic protectors. The screw on the bottom protects the batteries. The only differences are the logos and the paper sticker on the bottom with the model number, made in china, etc. The all important lighting... They differ a lot here. The MalloMe has six lights that point downwards. Thirty LEDs, 10x a side, 3x sides are what the Etekcity has. The MallowMe's LEDs appear to be a lot brighter than the LEDs in Etekcity's arrangement. The surprising part is that neither one is better. Both of them are bright enough to light a room. If you stare at them too long, they will hurt your eyes. The way the MallowMe delivers light is similar to a traditional bulb, meaning the light travels into an orb and that orb creates a mirrored surface below to amplify the effect. The LEDs are pointed in all directions. They both have advantages, and the Etekcity is great at getting into every corner. It is also brighter. The light is artificial and unpleasant to have even in a distance. The LEDs sparkle back at you. The MallowMe won't get into all the corners. It delivers a more diffuse source of light. The MallowMe is like having a normal 60W bulb on in the room, and something you won't even notice after a while. I think the Etekcity is a better light for work and hiking, for safety reasons, seeing every inch/ further is important. The MallowMe is a better tent light because of the diffuse lighting. The price per lantern is within two dollars of each other, but the Etekcity ships with batteries included. They're roughly the same price per lantern. I recommend you buy the one that fits your needs better, because I'm giving both 5x stars. Light/hiking.

👤These work are great. They work when they do. I ordered 6 boxes of these and out of 24 lanterns 5 didn't work. After taking them apart twice my husband was able to figure out what was wrong with them and was able to fix them. The green ones needed the positive end of the battery terminal pried out so they could reach the batteries. It's not very nice for someone who isn't lucky enough to have a handyman on hand. Carefully remove the extra ribs from the terminal end with a knife. They all work great now that they have been fixed.

👤Buying the largest camping lanterns was one of the mistakes we made when we started camping. Bigger must be better. We didn't learn a lot when it came to camping. I have begun replacing the large bulky stuff with lighter, smaller and more efficient versions because it is hard to buy things we already own. I researched and bought the MalloMe lanterns. They arrived quickly. A company that won't put an effort into their packaging usually won't put much into their product. I love the product. They are light and cheap. The light is bright but diffuses with a "globe" to keep it from being harsh. It's ideal for camping that they take up virtually no space. They were tested with Panasonic batteries. After 20 hours, they were still going dimmer. That tells me that the LEDs work well. This is ideal for camping. I don't plan on using them outdoors in a rainstorm, so I'm not sure if I care about their water resistance. I like these little guys, especially at four for $20ish buck. I'm a regular buyer. I did not receive any product or discount for my review.

7. UCO Original Lantern Candles Aluminum

UCO Original Lantern Candles Aluminum

The fail-safes in the smart protection chip protect your lantern from overcharging, over-discharging and over-circuiting. UCO Original Candle Lantern, 3-pack of UCO 9-Hour Candles, and protective fleece bag are included. The tube keeps the candle flame at optimal height. A collapsible lantern is suitable for camping or backpacking. The chimney is easy to slide. The lock base has a carrying handle and hanging hook.

Brand: Uco

👤I got my first candle lantern after the Northridge earthquake. After the house was trashed, we needed a source of light and were forced into our van. The little brass lantern was built like a tank and lasted over two decades. I lost it while moving so I no longer have it. The little green one was going to be the replacement. I took it out of the box and it fell apart in my hands. It rattles as it moves, like it is ready to fall apart, after a few tries to get it back together. I don't want to send it back, but it's much worse than the one I bought. Sad.

👤This is not a review of the candles, bundle or Amazon service, but a review of the lamp alone. I wanted to like this lamp. I am a fan of many things UCO, but this lamp, their signature product, is quite poorly made. It would not be an overstatement to say that it is at a dollar store. Let me tell you why. I noticed the top didn't close straight, the stems were bent, and one leg didn't lock properly, so I used the pictures as a reference. Their logo sticker is not centred by any means and there is a chip notch in the back. This is a very simple design and should work well. The sticker should be aligned and there should be no chips. If this was a couple bucks at the dollar store, I wouldn't think much, but for $25 it's a terrible value. I thought that it would be cheaper in the US but not in China. Their margins must be huge. I can see that the base is plastic and that it will break or loosen over time. It barely clicked closed. The candle would fall out of the bottom and onto the floor. UCO can make this product better with a few simple steps. The issue is that it should cost at most $10 with a healthy margin because it is made in China. The chain and hook are of great quality.

👤I really wanted to like it, even though I know it's a "gadget". I didn't expect nine hours of burn time, but it was an unpleasant surprise. I burned it in my office because there was no wind. The flame is small because of melted wax, which makes it impossible to offer a usable light. The price is too high for what you get. It is at your own risk to buy it. I think a cheaper lamp is better. The side reflectors are useless, the top one helps direct the light. After the first candle burned out, another reviewer said that a third of the candle remained in the bottom and never got a chance to burn. He was correct. My rating has been lowered from 3 to 2 stars. I might return this item.

👤I bought this for camping. I am not a big fan of candles. Candle light is warm and relaxing. It can easily be beat by the led head lamp. I burned through the candle to see how long it lasted. I got over 12 out of the 9 hours candle. I thought I would get a Made in USA product since several descriptions and comments state it. I looked at the box and saw a statement similar to Designed in Seattle and Made in China for UCO. Very disappointing. The only thing made in the US are the very expensive candles. The Chinese can make high quality products if the USA importers hold their feet to the fire to fulfill the contract. To ensure compliance, test the batches. Most USA corporations don't do that. The Chinese have a big problem making good brass. The specialty candles are expensive. I think the candles are best to be used for 4 hours or less at a time. It works as advertised. The included candle takes about 30 minutes to burn down the tip and an hour to start pushing up. It is easier to carry/ move after an hour. You need to watch it. The mechanism and lantern will be damaged if the candle is not pushed up. I'm ok with the switch to cheaper import as long as it works, but I'm disappointed with it.

8. Stonebriar Burning Tealight Extended 200 Pack

Stonebriar tea light candles are perfect for romantic moments, restaurants, birthday party decorations, or creating a relaxing spa atmosphere. Stonebriar tea light candles are perfect for romantic moments, restaurants, birthday party decorations, or creating a relaxing spa atmosphere.

Brand: Stonebriar

👤I have been burning candles for forty years. Both ikea and World Market Cost Plus are excellent quality and value. There are times when these candles are burning for a long time. It is truly phenomenal. The reviewer who was dumped into a bag has been changed. They are packaged in rows inside a cardboard box. Sometimes there are dents on the sides, but it is easy to fix them by pushing it with a finger. I hope to be able to buy these for the rest of my life. I can not recommend these enough.

👤I have been using these candles in my bedroom at night for about a year. They put off a good amount of heat in there by burning 4 at a time. They burn for 6 hours sometimes more. Sometimes they're still burning when I wake up, but I start them before I go to bed. They burn clean. I keep rearranging the candles. Won't trust anyone else. The interior of the heater has no black soot.

👤Great tea lights! The picture shows the condition they were in. I tried five last night and they burned for 7 hours. They made it into the 8th hour. Excellent value, great shipping, and excellent in every way. There is a Buyer Beware Update. These are not the Stonebriar version. They are a cheaper version. They may not come in a box, most likely. I'm testing their burn claim. How disappointing. They're going back in the same box they came in if they don't burn as claimed. The 2nd update is 8/29/18. Improvement. I don't know what the problem was, but they are still the best tea lights out there. I'm happy.

👤The candles don't arrive in a neatly packaged form, they are dumped into a bag and bent from side to side. The photo they have posted is not accurate. Tea light candles that are dents do not burn as long because of the fact that the even flow of wax fluid is prevented. The leftover wax can be seen when the wick burns out. I burned 20 of them, and they ranged in time from 3.5 to 4.25 hours. Disappointed.

👤Half of the candles were smashed when they arrived. The candle openings don't fit all of the holders correctly because they appear to have been mashed together. The burn time is not consistent with these. Sometimes it's 2 hours and sometimes it's over 6 hours. Sometimes the wax doesn't melt evenly. The price is reasonable.

👤Stonebriar has more than one manufacturer. I have received orders that were perfect. There was a long burning, complete burning and little mess. I have noted it. The product that says "Made in Poland" on the box is inferior with a lot of unused wax, and they don't burn as long. The circles stamped into the bottom of the container can be seen. The aluminum container is flat and plain on the bottom of the superior candles' label. These burn for a long time. I will return any candles that are labeled "Made in Poland." The candles are not satisfactory.

9. Ner Mitzvah Day Yartzeit Candle

Ner Mitzvah Day Yartzeit Candle

The emergency power can be used. The emergency candle burns for 9 days. The 9 day canoe is over. To mark the anniversary of a loved one's passing on a yahrzeit, or for memorial purposes. The candles are made with high grade vegetable oil that is soft to the touch. There is a value pack. The bulk package includes 2 Candles, perfect to stock up with so you can enjoy the best in both quantity and quality. There is a safe plastic holder. The holder is elegant and safe to use, because the flame burns inside its tall walls. There is no fee for standing. The self-standing candle does not need a cup or candlestick. It can be placed on any surface.

Brand: Ner Mitzvah

👤I have bought similar candles in glass holders in the past, and they often break, so I decided to try these, since the holder is plastic. I was a bit skeptical at first, since I was unsure how well plastic would hold up to a flame. Since the candle is made from vegetable oil, it burns at a lower temp and works great.

👤These were bought for power failures. The flame is small and does not give out a lot of light. That is the reason they burn long.

👤Every day is a Holy Day when you follow the wrong path. I am not religious. I went to the store with my Talit over my shoulders. I only work with fire during the fall and winter. I have a sacred fire with people who often have a flame lit for the big. I have survived many winters with One Fire. I have bought 7 day candles many times. I stopped buying candles a long time ago. It's down because of the material you got on Amazon to make your own candles. It's cheaper 2. It's fun. 3. It has more meaning. There is a negative against making your own candles. It's taking a lot of time. 2. It's not possible to get the wax to the right temperature. The glass is damaged by the smoke and fire. 4. It takes 3 days to make your own candle. They don't last more than 3 days on Amazon. I am very happy with the candles. Advice, 1. These candles are for 2. A coaster is under the candle. 3. A butane refillable grill long neck lighter is available. 4. If you are on oxegen, don't burn candles. 5. Don't leave fire lonely.

👤These were bought for an emergency back up light source. They came in a container that wasn't glass, which made them lightweight and portable, and they didn't have any harmful chemicals listed. I did not test them for 9 days, but I did a trial run and I am very satisfied with them.

👤The candles were not centered down the length and the flame was closer to the plastic wall than I wanted it to be. I tried another brand which burned great, had a larger flame, and was cheaper. Will buy them again. I had them on the bricks in a fireplace, but I burned them to the bottom. I don't know how they could have done that. I can't compare these to other brands because they are my first experience with multiple-day candles. They were not as large as I expected. The first few days of the experiment, the flame burned poorly because of the amount of carbon created by the wicks. I trimmed it many times. The flame was below the top of the container when it burned down, so it burned just fine. I may need to find a different place to put it because I think it is sensitive to drafts. The smell was either lit or unlit. The small flame doesn't provide a lot of light, but I wasn't looking for illumination. I was surprised at the plastic container's performance, but I was happy to find that it was just as good as the container I used before. I have not had any problems with the plastic melting, although it does get hot, since it is rated for very high temperatures. The only thing I don't like about these candles is that they don't come off easily. That's insignificant.

10. Coghlans 36 Hour Survival Candle 6 Ounce

Coghlans 36 Hour Survival Candle 6 Ounce

The width is 3.8 cm and the height is 2.4 cm. All tea light candles holders are compatible. The candle can burn for up to 36 hours. The candle is protected by a metal canister with a cover that weighs 6 ounces. essential gear for camping, backpacking, emergency preparedness, and more

Brand: Coghlan's

👤Emergency equipment is excellent. The flexibility of the three wicks gives you the ability to burn one for minimal light and heat that they claim will last 36 hours, or up to three for corresponding more heat and light and would last 12 hours, or any combination in between depending on your need. It would be useful in a car stranding, a camping trip, or a blackout. I don't think it's a special wax, just a normal candle wax in a case. The instructions say that if you are burning one wicks, you should switch the wicks every 3 hours so that the wax will melt more evenly and prevent big differences in wax height which would mess up burning the other wicks. The candle is in a round tin and has a diameter of 1 5/16". The label said it was 6 ounces, but mine was 7.3 ounces. The container is very water resistant and could leak, but it is a good tin. I only rated it four stars because I didn't get the promised matches. I could fit a standard book of matches between the closed lid and the wicks if I wanted to. It's a great idea to put matches in there.

👤This is in your bag. If you store the bag in the house, the wax will melt in the car in the summer. It burns clean and bright.

👤I have purchased these candles many times and they are great to have on hand in case you get stuck on the highway in the bitter cold. You can also set a can of food over the candle and warm up your meal at the same time, if you have a rack with you. I keep them in the vehicles and on hand for power failures.

👤If you only light one candle at a time, it will be advertised as 36 hour candle. If you use all three you will get 15 hours total. You have to use one wick at a time and move it around a lot to get the advertised 36 hours. If you are using it for heating food, it would be fine. The wicks can be moved. I used a sterno 55 hour candle for seven nights in a row and it was only half burnt. I'll stick with the sterno.

👤I hope I never have to use them, though I am glad that Coughlan's makes them. In case of car trouble, one of these live in each of our cars. That is a possibility in Iowa. I like the fact that this candle is in a sturdy container, so it will fit on the dash. It would last for 12 hours with all three wicks going. There were 24 with two and 36 with one. They're good in case of a storm power outage, which is what they're kept handy for during the summer months.

👤It was burned, loved it. The "36 hour" claim is a little deceiving because each wick is only good for 12 hours. 36 hours with 3 wicks. It's most likely true that they claim 36 hours, but it's deceiving to advertise that in the product title and display a 3-wick candle. The photo and caption make you believe that all three of the wicks burn for a full day and a half. Nope. If you burn each one separately, the 36 hours can be achieved. It's a standard 12-hour candle if you burn all 3 at the same time. If you don't mind just one flame at a time, you could get 36 hours out of this candle.

Brand: Vont

👤3 AA batteries are required. Surprisingly light for the size. It's not cheap to use China plastic. It's ridiculous how bright this thing is. I hang this and put it on the table like a regular lantern. It is black and folds up compact. It looks like a tactical move. It's easy to turn on. Simply open it and it will be on. It's not necessary to misplace a small switch or button in the dark. We had a cabin fire and I threw the broken window out to break it. I am sad that my lantern is missing. If you've read my review so far, this is a test. If so, well done. I am going to give you lunch. I apologize for lying to you.

👤I bought this lantern almost a year ago, but VONT has started sending me emails that are not related to the lantern. I would not recommend anyone buy anything from this company. If they're selling your email address and other information to other people for a few pennies, you're probably right. This needs to be fixed by Amazon. There is a The lantern worked for a while, but then the lights started flickering, making it useless.

👤I dropped it and it didn't break. The plastic doesn't seem to crack or break, and they both light up very well. The batteries are included. It's a straight forward approach. These will help when the power goes out, light up a tent well, and provide a work area. The handles are strong. There is no flashlight feature. Straight forward lanterns are what these are.

👤We are camping. The lanterns are easy to use and have a good price. These put off a good amount of light. The led bulbs are used in them. The hanging feature is great. We can either hang from the interior hook built into the roof of our tent or place it on our picnic table. It gave us plenty of light to take care of things before bed. The camping bins have these additions. After my husband got our generator going, we grabbed one of these and were no longer sitting in the dark. These are better than a flashlight in those situations as they are directional light and they light up a room quite well.

👤There are many good things about these mini L.E.D. lanterns. Value For The Dollar is one of the most important criteria when I rate a product. These lanterns deliver. They are light and bright. There are others on the market that are less expensive. I decided to purchase these because they were plastic. The base and the body were not damaged. The batteries seem to last a long time. If you lock your eyes on them, they will be bright enough to make your vision blurry. At $7. I feel like I have great value for the dollar. Some of the brands with metal bases were reviewed and commented on, and they were found to be rusting up after contact with water.
