👤I used one of these on Mt. Eisenhower in New Hampshire. The wind ripped it apart. I had to chase it down. These are easy to tear. I've used tougher material before.

👤I received some shreds of Mylar. The widest piece was 34” wide.

👤Well packed and seems heavy duty. These emergency items are sold by a small group of U.S. Army veterans. I have 4 of them in one of my molle pouches, so I might buy them again.

👤I don't need 100, I don't need pretty colors, and I don't need thicker. I need some basic thermal blankets. I may need 100 of these because I am starting to think of people I should give them to and people who live near our off-grid cabin. A good deal for something that could save a life.

👤It was packed beautifully and very small. You can't be prepared enough. We love the outdoors and I am a single mother of boys. I always carry a first aid kit with me on our trips. We put together a bag for bugs. My boys have trekking packs. I'd rather be prepared as possible, so I've been increasing my game recently. My sons will wear shorts in the winter. They're fine if we get stuck or an accident. These are things I don't hope to use. I'll be happy if we have to use them. There are two in our bug out bag and two in our winter gear car supply.

👤I keep them in my Jeep, backpack, and house. I travel with them. I use these at outdoor concerts when the benches are wet. They are easy to carry and reduce the wind.

👤I stayed out for a weekend to test out some of my gear. I was able to stay warm all night and the material was really strong. I'm going to buy more for my family.

👤The blanket is a little transparent and appears to be very durable. The blanket has not been tested to see if it works in cold weather.

👤There is a sad time in NYC. During the Pandemic, we see an increase in homeless people wandering around trying to find a place to sleep. They are usually old men and women who are victims in the shelters. It is heartbreaking, but you can make sure they don't freeze to death. If you see someone sleeping on the ground, offer them a bunch of these. Try to just neutrally and nonchalantly approach and say 'would you like this emergency foil blanket?' You can wrap it around and keep it out of the cold. If they say no, walk away. Don't get offended if they don't want help or if they curse at you. Try not to talk to them like you're talking to a kid. No one needs to see your gucci bag when you're laying on the sidewalk. There's a huge power difference here and you need to be aware of how you come across. Don't do outreach if you're offended by me saying these things. There are two more This should be the number one. Don't take pictures. You would think that people would know this, but they don't. Everyone wants their social media cred for being a good person. Be an anonymous person. Before you give money, think carefully. If they need food or coffee, buy it. Giving money may feel good to you, but it can also be used to fund drugs or make someone a target for mugging. Call your reps. The city should be taking care of these people. These people should be covered by the taxes we pay. Thank yourself when you get back into your home. You may have made a difference by doing a tiny bit.

👤I used the thermal blankets to line my cat houses. It was warm and cozy.

👤Great deal! You may not have thought of this use. They were used to protect my tomatoes. I covered the tomatoes and Mylar blankets with plastic and they didn't freeze even though it was 19 degrees.

👤The price is only $1 per blanket. I used packing tape to make a giant wall of Mylar and insulate half of my garage. It works well, it has a 30F temperature difference between the two sides of the mylar, and it's wind proof. My 3d printers are no longer malfunctioning because they stay warm in the garage. Useful!

👤This product is a work-around for a situation that is not a primary use, but it works great. I gave a large south facing window that was too bright in the spring and too dim in the fall to heat up the room so that the A/C wouldn't go off in October. I needed to block the light for specific times of the year, just like I needed to redo the window dressing, because the Earth is adjusting its axis for seasonal shifts. Mylar came to my mind when I thought of something light and cheap. I typed it into the search bar, and the blankets came up. The price was low. The size was large. I took a chance. It was perfect! A couple of clips were done. I threw one of the blankets in the car just in case. I'm happy.

3. Olive Green Retardant Blanket Military

Olive Green Retardant Blanket Military

The company is owned by a veteran. The Olive Green blanket was issued in the military. It's an ideal blanket for camping, hunting, or other outdoor activities. The warm blanket is designed to trap body heat. It's ideal for emergencies or every day use. Fire retardant is made of fire retardant material to give you peace of mind. The blanket made of 80% wool is much softer and more comfortable than other blankets made of synthetic material. This blanket is large enough to be used alone or with another person. The blanket is over seven feet long and can be used comfortably by anyone.

Brand: Ever Ready First Aid

👤There are a lot of negative reviews about this blanket, but are they deserved? No in a single word. It isn't bad if you intend on using it. I've used it to move large objects while camping and I've also used it to move the floor of a tent. It works well in those situations. That's what these blankets are supposed to do. They are durable and will take a beating. This isn't the type of blanket you would want to put on your bed. It will keep you warm and if you needed it, it would do the job, but it's better suited for the outdoors and situations you wouldn't want to sacrifice a nicer blanket in. Oh, and the smell. People are mentioning the smell of the blanket. It does smell a bit like gasoline, but it's not the strong, overpowering smell that people have described in these reviews. I have an expensive blanket that has a similar smell to the one I have. It's partly a wool blanket thing, and it's partly the smell of this wool blanket, being that it's cheaper and fire-retardant. You're probably not going to like this blanket on your bed, but anywhere else it's not an issue and I never noticed the smell in a small tent. If you put your face up to it, it will be present. Maybe some people have a more delicate sense of smell than others, but then again maybe others have overexaggerated their experience. It's been a great purchase for me.

👤The blanket went through two washes and one delicate dry after it was more than expected. I show the pictures of the lint to make sure it's clean when it's first washed. The other two pictures were washed. The big pieces were pulled out of the dryer screen and the smaller pieces were from the washer and drier. When I first got this item, I didn't notice the smell as strong as I would have liked, but after washing and drying it, I noticed the smell was still there, and I was looking for one after washing. I probably wouldn't have noticed a smell if I had used a dryer sheet. The blanket seems to be of good quality, but it is a bit fluffier after being laundered. It is soft and not hard. There was no pilling and the stitching around the border is still in place. I can't give it 5 stars yet because I haven't used it much. I would purchase again for the price and quality. I paid full price for this item, so you have a completely biased opinion.

👤It was to be used as a spare blanket. It smelled like cigarettes and cigars when it arrived. I washed it in cold and then went to pu it in the dryer and noticed that one side was unraveling. There was fiber everywhere after a round of drying. It filled the lint trap, but it also spilled onto the floor of the laundry room and into the kitchen. I picked up fuzzy blots for 20 minutes. The weave of the blanket has become thinner. After a wash. I don't believe in the longevity of this item.

4. Arcturus Heavy Duty Survival Blanket

Arcturus Heavy Duty Survival Blanket

It's a must have for first aid kits. It can be used as a ground tarp, shelter, tent or emergency blanket. It's a good idea to keep one in the trunk of your car. All weather blanket. The Mylar reflective side of the blanket can be used to reflect heat, create a barrier, or signal for help. The other side is made of two layers of polypropylene and can be used as a blanket, tarp or shelter. Light weight: The blanket is in its own carry bag. The blanket is approximately 5 feet by 7 feet. It's a super volcano. You will be surprised by all the used cases you find if you keep it close at hand. There are four TIE-DOWN GROMMETS. The survival blanket can be hung with ease or secured to reflect heat, and create a waterproof shelter. They make improvements to the grommets.

Brand: Arcturus

👤The tarp is basically a tarp with a reflective coating. I'm not going with it because it's not properly reinforced, based on the item falling apart after a couple months. See the pictures. I bungeed this to the top of the chicken run to help with rain entering the run area. It lasted a couple months until we had some light winds, and then it fell apart. There were signs of distress in the eyelets where the bungees were going through. I'm not impressed. This tarp is not even a tough tarp. It's flashy and looks nice, but it's not functional and just fell apart on me. If I could, I would give zero stars. Cheap tarps have held up better for me.

👤I bought a pop up camper. I was going to shade the pop outs. The description said they were heavy duty, but I liked that they were water proof. These aren't heavy duty. The blanket ripped on the seam where I was holding it as I barely pulled it across the camper. Within minutes of taking it out of the package, it was ripped.

👤Within the first hour, mine ripped on one of the corners and put it into a shelter configuration. I wrote a lengthy review about my experience with this tarp, but either Arcturus or Amazon flagged it for removal. I am rating this again but with no details.

👤I used this for the first time last night to make a plow point shelter to sleep in. I adjusted the farthest stake point because the center was sagging on me, and after beating down the stake, the opposite grommet ripped the waterproof material from the black fabric at the corners. The structural fabric from the Arcturus material will continue to be ripped. I wish I had bought the equivalent. Dave told us that he tested each shipment by hanging a tarp on one corner and a cinder block on the other. I'm going to see if I can return it.

👤I have made at least 30 small shelters for my outdoor cats and they all prefer the ones with the tarps. They always run to the ones with the tarps when it's cold. Coincidence? I don't think so. My cats are smart. It would be great if they came in bigger sizes. I didn't see anything. I had to take at least one star off because one of the corner grommets ripped just like the one bad review of this product in which the person showed the picture. It happened after some winds. I will use gorilla tape to fix it. It only happened on the one side I used rope on. The ones that were hit directly into the ground are doing well. It's only been a few weeks. I'm still thinking about buying another one. The ones I staked down are worse now. I'm torn. I bought 2 more. I wrapped them around myself and can feel the difference. I will probably not use cord with these since they are the only ones showing wear and tear. The other ones are holding up well. My cats love their shelters. I can put it on a shelter that's not good. I am getting more because I spoil them. :/ I think I might put a tarp over these to keep them from being torn.

5. Emergency Mylar Blanket 52 84

Emergency Mylar Blanket 52 84

Emergency protection that is compact. The packaging is lightweight. The mylar insulation material is durable. Retains and reflects heat. Both are waterproof and weatherproof.

Brand: Premium Life

👤The product might have changed since previous reviews. I read a lot about shredding in the wind and being easily torn. My first one that I took out of the packet was a guinea pig. I shook it out, snapped it, tried to rip it with my bare hands, and wrapped my kitten in it to see if she could punch her way out of a Mylar bag. I would expect Mylar to act based on what I read about the original product. I don't know what previous buyers have received, but I think I have received true Mylar. I will let you know what will destroy this stuff if I can figure it out. It reflects my body heat back to me, I had it on bare skin, crawled under my comforter, and wondered if my toenails were going to tear it, but they didn't. I need to make sure I have clothes on. I'm going to put one of these in a twin size duvet to use in bed on cold nights. When I head off to the bathroom, I want to wrap myself around myself. I think it will be quieter in a duvet. You will never get it back in the packet that it comes in. When I was playing with it, I put it in a quart bag. Someday, I will see if it is possible to get it back into that little packet. I am very happy with my purchase, and plan on cutting one of these up to use as a light reflector, in cat beds, gloves and shoes, and in my sleep hat.

👤I keep a few of these in each of our cars in case we ever get stranded. I don't know if they would keep you from freezing, as we have not been stranded, but they take up almost no space and it is nice to know we have something other than our normal coats. I have used them in my house for growing tomatoes in the off season. The framework is 2 feet X 4 feet, floor to ceiling, with a grow light on the top and mylar sheets used as liners for a canvas surround. Tomatoes do well because the mylar keeps heat and light reflected from all directions. These are thin and tear easily. The canvas painter's cloths protect them in the mudroom, but I would assume they would be used as emergency blankets.

👤I keep these in my family cars. I had a family member go into shock after being in a car wreck in a remote location once, and a stranger stopped by and gave him their car blanket to help keep him warm, until the paramedics arrived. I wanted to pay it forward and keep blankets on hand in case I needed to help someone else one day. These are easy to fit in the glove box. It's a great item that you can put in your glove box and forget about, until you need them. In order to prevent body heat from being able to escape, one needs to lay down on one sheet/blanket, and use another one to cover up. There is a method for this.

6. Emergency ,Designed Retention ,Marathons Aid。ANMEILU

Brand: Qio Chuang

👤We gave these to homeless people and they seem to like them.

👤I got these because they were cheap and I was surprised at the quality. The curtains were down for a few weeks so I only needed two to see the heat from the two sunny windows. I have camping gear in the car. I thought I would need extras because they wouldn't hold up. I put them on the window frame at night so I don't have to look at it. I thought they might rip up, but they are holding up. I can peel the tape off without the reflective part peeling off. I had temporary use for them. They would work well as an emergency blanket.

👤These things are large. It was much bigger than I thought. I didn't think they would work, but they warmed up immediately. Can't wait to try them out.

👤I use these to cover plants. Work well!

👤The heat comes through windows from the sun. It acts like a one way mirror during the day, with a heavy tinted window effect. When looking at it from the outside, it's barely visible.

👤You have to keep one in your car. I would love to have one in my car on January 29th. Atlanta Slowpocalypse! My first test was to stand outside in the cold weather of Atlanta with nothing but a t-shirt on. I wrapped it around myself and felt like Batman. I stayed outside for 15 minutes, and the longer I stood there the warmer I got. I had intended to give them all away as stocking stuffers, but I had to convince them not to. I only gave one away.

👤I like the product. I received a 3 pack with no resolve after ordering a six pack. The product is functional.

👤There is nothing to complain about so far. The space blankets are very thick. I opened one to make sure it covered the entire upper torso and genitalia. It did all of them. I would buy the 10 pk. You can put them in multiple places you deem necessary.

7. Military Camping Survival First Blanket

Military Camping Survival First Blanket

The blanket is very similar to those issued by the military and speaks to the level of quality that they demand. The blanket is ideal for outdoor use. The ratio of wool and Man-Made Fibers allows for a long life without compromising comfort. The woolen blanket is warm. Wool blend fabric is both soft and sturdy, trapping in heat to keep you warm. The fire retiree. It is designed to slow down or stop the spread of fire and it provides extra safety. It can be used comfortably by large and tall people.

Brand: M Mcguire Gear

👤It's hard to find a robe that isn't skimpy and isn't made of (ick!) so I bought this blanket to make a warm bathrobe. There is a fleece or microfiber. Fleece/microfiber is like wrapping myself in a sauna for me. I don't have a problem with wool blends. It was the right size to make a simple, "T" shaped but capacious robe with enough left over for a belt and a craft project. Excellent!

👤These are great blankets. Simple and serve their purpose is much cheaper than elsewhere. They are a must have for any kind of emergency. The thickness doesn't vary depending on color. It is only slight. I have the grey one and the navy blue one. The grey one is a little thicker than the blue one. Both are great.

👤I bought this to wear as a cloak and I am happy with it. It is the same as advertised.

👤The blanket is tightly woven. It has a lot of weight and doesn't smell bad. It's going to have a slight smell, it's 80 percent wool. It comes from an animal. I keep it in my Jeep for a survival blanket in case I get stranded during a winter storm, so I won't wash it. It is a great blanket. When my father was in the army, he had one like this.

👤The smell was so bad that I couldn't keep it in the house. It smelled like old toxic motor oil. I can't recommend this product. Maybe I have a bad one. It was awful. It was heavy but not soft. Returned.

👤It's 30$ and it should tell you something. The blanket smelled like gun cleaning solvent or a new tennis ball. The workmanship had some flaws. It is very thin and not very comfortable. If you can get past the smell, you can make a good ground cover blanket.

👤I wanted to find out if wool bothered me as a child. I wanted to get away from some of the unnatural fibers and back to the basics so I thought I would try this one. I put this one on my bed because it is perfect and I don't think I need to buy a more expensive one. I am warm and comfortable. The people that are complaining about the smell don't know wool. It isn't a chemical smell. It is just how it smells that gives it time. The blanket is perfect.

👤They were used in case it got cold while camping. It was nice and warm to use it with my 40 degree sleeping bag. When you wash and dry, you need to fill the lint trap. Good value.

👤Not bad, but not right. I shouldn't be able to see it. Not what I was expecting. I would try another brand first.

👤I used this to build a shelter for a stray cat. This would be perfect for many things.

👤The Houston area has experienced a few freezes this year, with a hard freeze expected this week. I use these to protect the patio because it's too big and I want to bring in more plants. The wind is blowing on my porch.

👤My granddaughter got stuck in the cold when her car broke down, these came just in time.

👤If you get stuck in a snow storm or are involved in an accident, you should keep the blankets in the glovebox. They are fine if you consider the price.

👤It was exactly what I needed.

👤This product is great for the price.

👤It is easy to carry. The price is good for multiple blankets.

9. Stansport 1243 Wool Blanket 80 Inch

Stansport 1243 Wool Blanket 80 Inch

Both are waterproof and weatherproof. 45% wool, 20% polysester. The blend is 25% nylon/acrylic/viscose. Even when wet, Wool has heat retention capabilities. Wrap around the sleeping bag. Emergency shelter in cold weather. The ground cover or tablecloth can be used.

Brand: Stansport

👤The US Navy used to issue gray wool blankets, but I couldn't find them. I wish I had not! Unless you want something in your trunk to keep you from freezing when your car goes off-road into a snowbank, steer clear of this piece of trash. Someone cut it out with a box knife. hem stitching, which is only along the top and bottom, is completely missed in some places. It smells like it was used to sop up fuel. The stink did not get better by airing it or washing it. It's definitely not a pleasant smell. It sheds a lot of lint.

👤The colors don't blend. The first sign that this wasn't going to hold up was that they looked more "chunky". I washed the blanket by itself in the washer and then dried it with no heat. The blanket did not smell after the dryer. It completely filled my lint trap. A full load of brand new towels was the last time that happened. My drier was covered with lint from the blanket, which didn't happen with the new towels. This isn't right. The blanket is going to cause problems. I feel like the core of the blanket is like a rug that starts with a grid. The core is wide and seemingly loose, which seems to be an indicator of a cheap product. I understand. This is cheap. Inexpensive products are still good even if they are well reviewed. I would rather not spend more. Don't bother unless you're really strapped for cash or you think you'll be using this as an emergency blanket. I bought this to sit outside. It's going to be returned today.

👤I am very happy with my blanket. It had a slight smell but nothing like the other reviews. I sprayed both sides and put them in the dryer for 30 minutes. I found a good amount of wool in the lint filter, but the blanket seemed worse for wear. I left the heat in my bedroom off to see how well the blanket kept me warm after I put it on my bed for camping. I was warm and cozy all night. The wool blanket is better for the money than the $150 ones.

👤I washed it before using it. It had an overpowering smell. The ends were unstitched and they were damaged. A lot of fluff was a problem to clean up. I will fold it up and put it in the cat shelter because it is useless for human bedding. I am sure Cat will appreciate it.

👤I wanted to make my own bed frame. I spent a long time researching all the different blankets on here and I ended up going with this one because of the price and it seemed to have less reviews about it being stinky. It's worked out well for what I'm using it for. It had a gasoline smell when I first got it. I aired it out for a week or so. I don't feel like the smell is bad anymore. I don't think the smell was bad at all. I have seen it a little fuzzier in a few places. I just cut it with some scissors. You can't beat the price.

Brand: Woolly Mammoth Woolen Company

👤The seller claims that the blanket is made of merino wool. I performed a burn test to confirm that the fibers are natural. The product failed on the test due to the fact that most of the red fibers are much thicker than true merino wool fibers, and that the sample was a human hair. I think that this product is a regular Indian wool blanket, which you can buy at half of the price at Amazon. The logo is the same as before.

👤Garbage is reprocessed! I bought this blanket a long time ago. I decided to clean the blanket because it was time. In the tub is where you'll get a soak with a wash made for wool. The blanket didn't fall apart, but it did reveal threads of orange and other yarn that were used in the manufacturing process. There is an over abundance of over priced garbage products on Amazon that are sold by chinese companies that use American markeing tactics to make consumers believe they are getting something of quality when they are actually getting junk. The blanket is under that category. The Pendleton is a quality wool blanket. If you want a blanket of this quality, choose one of the options that are half the price. Don't buy it!

👤I have never played the wool blanket game. They are said to provide warmth, and I've heard many benefits of having one. There is a They were correct. There is a I needed something better than the thin, cotton blankets I have been using, especially with winter here already in PA. I already have a winter of car living under my belt, and I am here now to talk about it. There is a If I could buy a product that would make this 2nd go around more comfortable, the Woolly Mammoth wool blanket is it. The blanket keeps my body heat where it needs to be, so it helps me fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer. The material feels good on the skin and doesn't make me angry. Some reviews said there was a strong odor. I haven't experienced that with my own. The care card mentioned if there is a strong smell, to just let it air out. I was unaware of the instructions on how to dry clean and not wash on the care card. The tip about dusting baking soda on the blanket was cool. I am very pleased with the product and company. I will definitely get another one of these when it's time to replace, I know this will last a while, and I know this will last a long time.

👤I felt I should make two quick notes after reading some of the negative reviews. Do not wash this blanket in the washing machine. If you don't know how to care for a wool blanket, don't get mad and leave a bad review. Take 5 minutes to hit up their website and read up on the care. Shrink and shed will be caused by washing. Spot wash as much as you can. It smells. It smells like a blanket. The smell is always stronger when they are new. As you air the blanket out, it will be less stinky. Some people are sensitive to where it smells like fuel, so I am used to it. If you notice that it doesn't make you gag, just spread it out outside on a dry day, or even in your garage where you can open the door, and it will get rid of the wool. It will smell like a dried up blanket after being rubbed on by people, and I have heard of people rubbing dryer sheets on it. If you like the smell of a real wool blanket, you might want to buy a more expensive one. A great blanket. It is not as soft as others. This hunting season will be used a lot. The stitching around the edge is my favorite feature. It is 1/2-1” thick and is strong. The quality is definitely worth the price. If they are out of stock, you can find them at the website. It was where I got mine when Amazon couldn't deliver. The price was the same for me as well. It was worth every penny. It is not designed for softness in my experience. This with my roll makes this dad all warm. It is a very nice blanket, but do consider its weight. The tradition of woolen blankets is still going strong with this one. I might buy the smaller one and keep it in my car.

👤I work in the laundry business. I bought this blanket because I wanted to use natural materials on my bed. It's very heavy and well made. I felt compelled to say something when I saw the photos people have posted of their machines. 1. You should not wash delicates or large items in a top loading machine. You can see in the photos that it will rip the fabric to shreds. If you don't have a front loading washing machine, you can wash it at a laundromat for a few dollars. It is best to wash it in cold water with a little soap. If you don't want to do this, you should probably buy a different blanket. 2. It does shed a lot when new. It can be fixed by putting it in the dryer with 3 tennis balls and no heat for 10 minutes. You should clean your lint screen every now and then. The majority of the loose fibers will be removed. 3. The "smell" that people are referring to is a naturally occurring substance in wool. It is gone with time. I hope this is helpful.

👤I was excited to see a 100% wool blanket at a good price. The blanket feels solid and heavy. I washed it in cold water and was disappointed to see that it had shed a bit and looked a little ratty. If you have a budget of $50, then you should get a 100% wool blanket. The eco-wise blanket is a good choice if you want to spend a little more. If you shop on bed, bath and beyond and use one of their 20% off coupons they always give out, the Pendleton blanket will cost around $110. The blanket has no smell and washes well, but still looks great without a lot of shed.

👤This thing was broken in hard. It came to me as if Shadowfax delivered it at Gandalf's request. Many people have mentioned that it had a oily smell when I opened it. I washed it with normal detergent and no problems. There is a clothes line. I hung it to dry, but it was still damp. I got impatient. I put it in the dryer and it was fine. I might get the wife one for our anniversary because she liked how big it was. I took this on a weekend wilderness camping trip with two friends, where I used it as a blanket, a sitting cushion, and other things. Night one was in my hammock and night two was on the ground. It is DEFINITELY fire resistant and is definitely dirt and stain resistant. I wish it was a foot or two wider during the night to get a better wrap, but it worked. My back was cold because of the ground and I didn't have much insulation, but this made up for a lot of my mistakes. It rolls up and stays at the bottom of my bag. It was heavy, but in a good way. For the price and size of this decent quality item, you can't go wrong.
