👤This kit is great. Everything was neatly packed into a carry pouch that you can wear on your belt or hiking backpack. The shovel will be useful in digging a nice latrine hole. The hatchet will help you cut your wood to throw on the fire. Even though you're on top of your camping game, you forgot to pack a lighter, so how are you going to start a camp fire? The kit comes with a flint fire starter. When you are laying in your sleeping bag having a hard time sleeping because someone told a scary story and your worried skin walkers are going to drag you out of your tent, this kit has you covered, it comes with a nice bayonet style knife that when attached to the included poles makes a great You can use the knife for sawing or cutting things like the rope you need to hang your tarp over your tent. This kit is filled with well made tools that can help you in an emergency, like digging your car out of mud, or even make a great addition to your camping gear. I'm going to go camping and I love it. I am sure you will love it and you are getting a good deal. The tools have a good weight to them and the axe has a good blade. When you unpack the tools, look at the ends of the poles. It also has a shovel with a notch in the handle to tighten nuts and a screwdriver head with a notch in the handle. It is a good buy. I have said this before. I love it!

👤The Hitdudu Survival Shovel and Camping Axe Kits arrived as advertised. The directions for how to assemble the parts are missing. The multi-functional pieces are great for saving space. The handles on the pipe are hollow. It takes a few minutes to figure out how the pieces are going to form the knife. I would like it to be a 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle. The pieces will only screw together in one way. If you put two pieces together and they stop halfway short of seating, those pieces don't go together. If the pieces don't fit together easily, you have the wrong one connected. Good quality with a few exceptions. A shovel and axe head. Multiple pieces serve multiple purposes. Durability is given a B+. I will explain this in each section. The bag has a very secure full closure piece across the top flap so no parts escape while out on a hike. It has a long strap that can be adjusted to carry on the shoulder or cross-body. There is only one loop on the bag back. I find one loop annoying because it leaves too much play in the bag. A second loop with both loops placed closer to the outer edge of the bag would provide support. The shovel is sharp. The kit has a shovel that is sharp enough to cut rope out of a box. The serated edge could easily be seen. The shovel head has a hook knife on the upper corner that can be used as a can/bottle opener and three octagonal wrench holes on the side. The octagonal wrench holes on the side of the blade make it a knife as well. The tension nut at the base of the handle can be turned to move the shovel head. The nut is made of plastic. I think it will break over time. You can switch between the two positions. The shovel head is solid and won't break under use. The axe is sharp. It will be able to do some serious chopping straight out of the box. The hammer end of the axe head is welded into place. It is made for traction. Alan bolts hold the axe head in the handle. To keep the bolts secure, you will need an appropriately sized alan wrench. The bolts closest to the axe head were loosened and I had to tighten them up. The axe is very sturdy and would hold up well in camping and hunting. I can't say that it would survive a lifetime like a solid steel piece would. The axe has a reinforced fabric cover that snaps into place over the blade. The axe head cover has a belt loop strap for added convenience. The axe is referred to as a folding axe. I don't know if that means something technical, but the axe doesn't fold down in any way. The knife is very sharp. It doesn't have a sheath to protect the blade or you when you reach into the bag. I keep the knife point inside the empty handle piece. It has a bottle opener area. The knife blade was difficult to find the right configuration for. If you need the help, I attached a picture to help you figure it out. There is a double ended phillips/flathead screwdriver bit that slides into the hole in the fixed end of one pipe piece. A picture is included again. There is a whistle. It doesn't go into the pipes. It is completely independent. There is a glass breaker pipe tip that can be used to crush something. There is a fire starter in the advertisement. I don't see a fire starter tool with this kit. A decent tool kit for hiking, camping and hunting. I don't think I would rely on it for long term survival. The lack of a compass and fire starter, the plastic knife base which can break over time, and the plastic tension nut on the shovel make it a bit overpriced.

Brand: 7th Science Gear

👤I have thrown a lot of tools, including axes, knives, and darts. The expected weight was a bit heavier than expected, which was fine as a heavy hatchet can cut well. It took me several hours to get the blade sharp enough to be worth something, and I had to cut 4' to 8' wood. The head of the hatchet is heavier than the other end, so it's important to hit the blade first. The back of the head is heavier than the blade end, which causes the hatchet to be off balance and takes a technique to hit the blade first. This is a better hammer than a throwing tool.

👤The angle of the blade is not as narrow as it would be if it were stuck into wood easily. It's like throwing a hammer. It was difficult to get pictures that were representative. The first two pictures show how quickly the blade widens and how fat the edge and head are. The third picture is a shot of an axe throwing blade that has a thin edge. It sticks to the wood.

👤The hatchet was built to be well built all around. I put it in my emergency kit because I wanted to learn how to axe throw. I've told others to buy it because it's a great hatchet.

👤There was no sharp blade on this ax. It bounced off the board many times. The axes were supposed to be stuck. This is a better point than my maul for splitting wood. It took an entire 20 watt battery to get it to this point.

👤It is lightweight and durable, and it is also versatile. It is portable with a quality sheath. I put it in my bag.

👤Nice axe! I would have liked a little more weight on it. The logo on the side was messed up. If it doesn't hit a target, it bounces a lot. We will see how long it lasts. It has to hit the point of the axe with a thinner blade than some axes.

👤I like everything from a hunter to a camper and my wife loves this more than I do.

👤The fiberglass handle is similar to weathering wood designs. No fancy cutouts or etching, just everything you need to drive a stake, chop down small trees, make firewood chips, and anything else you don't need like bottle openers. The steel is thick, heavy and capable. This is a steal for the money.

Brand: Casavida

👤The light weight of this multi tool is something I like. I have concerns with a tool that you swing to drive tent stakes or chop wood that is decomposable into parts by removing the handle. What's good? The stakes for the tent are large and wide and I have a 12 by 12 foot tent. You can drive these stakes with the back end of the hatchet. A good amount of force is generated with one hand by the tool. 2. The side with the blade has been used to chop wood. You can get a decent sized chip with every swing because the blade is sharp enough to get through wood pieces that are about 3 to 4 inches in diameter. 3. You'll get lost if you rely on the compass at the bottom of the handle. Does not point at the Magnetic North. For that, buy a real compass. 4. I threw out the fire strikers in haste. I never used it, so no review. Two strikes against me in this review, because this also had the emergency whistle on it. 5. I don't need to use the glass breaker to exit my car because I haven't driven it under water yet. I didn't see a seat belt cutter on the tools, it seems like you need that before the glass breaker. 6. If you need an emergency beer, you should have a bottle opener. I don't think it's possible to go backpacking on a long hike. I'm happy with the purchase because of the stake driving and wood chopping properties. It's used in car camping situations and is a great addition to your toolkit.

👤I wanted a blade/hammer combo. The other stuff was just a bonus. It has a solid build and is heavier than anticipated. I think I will have to put a lot of effort into breaking it. It came with a medium sharpening stone/oil, which was a nice surprise, don't recall that being in the bio. There is a The other stuff... Don't buy this for the compass, it's garbage and doesn't point anywhere. There is a clothes pin in my picture of the knife. If you only use it for light work and don't throw it, it should be durable. Don't buy this ax for the knife. The window break is cool. I don't think this ax will be able to split large logs. The weight is not a big deal for me. The sun is south of me.

👤The ace is very nice. I was concerned about the strength but the segments are ice and tight which gives them a solid feel. Adding flint, steel, sharpening oil and whistle is nice. The knife doesn't screw into anything, that's my only complaint. A handle segment cannot be added to a knife. It pushes into one of the segments. There are threads on the knife. It doesn't fit into any of the segments. Without anything to screw it into, it makes it worthless. The knife piece rattles when it's in the handle. This would be complete if there was a little more engineering.

Off Grid Tools has the latest and greatest outdoor tools that are functional, versatile, high quality, and innovative. During long adventures hiking, hunting, fishing, and camping, put survival in the palm of your hand.

Brand: Off Grid Tools

👤Got this today. The blade is not sharp enough to cut anything larger than 2 inches in diameter. The hammer claw broke when I pulled out a nail. I'm going to request a refund as this tool seems to be very poorly made and cheap, but I've found better devices that are much better built.

👤It looks useful in the photos. I know that the new version is made in the US, but it's not as good as it could be. The handle is uncomfortable and digs into your hand, the grip bumps make it worse, the knob for opening and closing the saw blade isn't cheap, and you have to take the handle completely apart to change blades. The person who ground the edges is barely hanging on. Prayers and thoughts go out to them. I can't stress enough how this is a piece of furniture that you would buy from a case in a smoke shop. The face had a rounded curve, so I had to grind down the hammer end. Maybe it was to make it easier to pry out nails. The face needs to be straight. You will never use this survival tool to tighten bolts. Ever. If you did it, you'd look like an idiot and lose the respect of your male role model. It would be like having a screw driver attachment on a pizza tray. I wish I had listened to the majority of people who said against buying multi use survival tools. Buy a folding saw. hatchets can be flipped around and used as a hammer and a folding saw won't take up much extra room in your pack. You will be better off.

👤There are some valid gripes about this product. It is an issue. The blade is not just poorly ground, it is also sturdy. It's almost a joke. The edge is folded in a part and I will need to sharpen it with a file. That's what it's being said. It's a great general purpose tool. It is light and has everything you need for an emergency blade. Don't do it if you want to go camping or build a fort. It's an emergency tool. It will take longer. I own hatchets, tomahawks, and other axes. I will take my Cold Steel "Tactical Hawk" along with some other specialized steel if I go camping or know in advance that I'm going into something serious. Four stars because I love the fact that I can use my car as a car escape tool, and I also love the fact that I can use it as a weapon. One star was removed because of the blade. If it fits what you actually need, it's worth $60.

👤The tool has some issues, but the concept is great. The blade of the axe is very dull and will need to besharpened before use. The claw is not very large. I worry that it will break if I try to pry a nail off the wall. The sheath that comes with the tool is cheap. I was expecting a tool made in the USA to be better at this price.

Brand: Wayintop

👤I have used it for many things. It's so versatile. I lost all but one bit. I can't get replacements at Lowes since they are not 1/4" bits. I got creative and bought a set of metric bits that fit in business. The female to female sleeve makes it more versatile. I wish it had a saw on the file. If they don't give me a thank you for the idea, it would be really bad. It's my daily carry.

👤Excellent price and quality, knife and hatchet were both very sharp out of the box, nice carrying pouch too.

👤My son had been asking for a tool to use. This was a good option. The whistle/ flint rod was missing after the purchase of one. Not a good fit and will fall out. The whistle/flint rod was replaced and was already used. There are screws coming out and handle separators. Not the best quality. You get what you pay for.

👤My dad was thrilled to get a fun toy like this, I added it to his Father's Day gift. He absolutely loves it, it is a very handy tool.

👤It's ready to go into the jungle for survival. Make sure you stay safe and keep this tool with you.

👤I like it. Is is strong and heavy. I have only used the ax and hammer so far. I like this tool very much.

👤I am very happy with everything the tool has to offer. I bought three. One for my dad and son.

👤Ich ist die Multitool meinem Mann zum Geburtstag geschenkt. I am in Verbindung setzen, um das Multitool. Zur reklamieren.

👤The magnesium rod is too small to be useful and the file is worthless. The axe and knife are very sharp. I like the pliers, screwdrivers, and hammer. It's a great tool for small projects.

👤Sehr vielseitig!

👤The tool that came with it should be useful. The axe is sharp. It should be good for camping.

Brand: Aietol

👤I bought it for my brother, and he loves it. It's perfect for anyone who wants to do a small ax handle wrap.

👤It looks like I might not trust it.

👤When camping, this hatchet is a great tool to have around. There is only one thing that seems off. The weight of the handle to the axe head is not right. The way the handle curves seems a little off to me. It might be a matter of preference, but a different balance might be better. The construction is good and the case is high quality. A note about the case came off the axe head, and the box had a cut on it from the exposed blade all the way to the outside. Be careful when opening!

👤I got this for my husband and stepson to play in the yard and chop up some landscaping while trying something new. They are both new to this and I was worried that they wouldn't be effective. The blade is very sharp and easy to cut through. The handle is covered so it is less likely to slip. It has a shape that seems to be more upright. It came with a strong cover for the blade. Even though we don't let our small children in the house, it's nice to have that extra protection if you are traveling with it. This works well for my boys. I was not sure what to expect, but they are enjoying it. I'm getting some old trees and bushes cut down. It's a good thing.

👤This is a great tool. It's handy for our camp trips and backyard campfires. It has a quality case and feels good when you use it. Sturdy and functional. Will use this for a long time.

👤This is for my offroad setup. The ax is well constructed and small. The size is perfect for backpacking, having in your offroad vehicle, or even for light use around the house. If you need a full-sized ax, it will not work, but it is great for a portable use case at a good price point.

8. Gerber 30 000715 Downrange Tomahawk

Gerber 30 000715 Downrange Tomahawk

Tactical and military are the type of sport. The package weight is 5.0 lbs. The body is made of steel. Cerakote will not break. Scales on a handle. Attaches To Pack, Body Armor, and Other. The axe head is made in the USA. The pry bar has a hammer head. The handle is tan with a steel body.

Brand: Gerber Gear

👤So far, three stars, use it for work. I would give higher, but there are many things that go into rating items. Performance is the winner in work related uses. The rating is lowered by the price in comparison to others. Many can't afford an OOP of the unit when there's others on the market that do as well. Smaller companies that make US made breachers, axe's, that rate higher as they perform well, are a better price. The sheath for the axe is good, but it was thrown away. I used regular molle web clips to hold it. I will update the rating in 6 months, but I was not able to make a day in my vehicle, I attached a pic with the stock molle sheath before throwing it away.

👤Corinne bought this for me. I am a firefighter and am always looking to try out new tools, unlike many who are looking at this for the zombie assault at world's end. I was curious when I saw that the military had a design by Gerber. I decided to give it a try after some research. There are better tools for forcible entry. It is nearly impossible to beat a set of irons in skilled hands, which is a combination of a flat head axe and a Halligan bar. I wanted something light. I grab a short hook and my radio when I am a company officer. I was able to make a shoulder strap to hold the tomahawk at my side and not impede me while wearing full structural turn out gear because this is small and light. This allows me to have a small pry/chop tool when looking for fire extension. A forcible entry tool is more likely. I don't need to go back to the engine. We had to make a forced entry to a steel door with a steel frame and we had to check for open windows, keys under mats, etc. One firefighter was told to get the irons. I decided to try this tool while he was there. The pry end was small enough to fit into the small gap, and the angle on the end made it easy to lean full body weight and pry against the door. The tomahawk was quick to work the dead door. The Irons would have made entry, but this is a tool I always have with me, and it has a lifetime warranty from Gerber. I think I will keep this handy, other than crews acting like fools at shift change playing with the tomahawk. I plan on cutting a gas shut off into the handle.

👤The tool is the best since sliced bread. It isn't good for slicing bread, but that's not the purpose. It is an emergency tool. I bought it for my go bag when the next disaster threatens. If you can't smash through a windshield or make your own entry into a room, what's the point of having a water purification bottle, tarp, deck of cards, energy bars and zip ties? I've only used it for a few things, including cutting down some ivy, throwing it at a tree, and cutting a banana. Don't tell my wife about that part, but a 7-year old could balance it. It looks tough and well designed. Is it a bug out bag, or is it a perfect strap to the side of my bag?

Brand: Yeacool

👤I have only had a chance to use it around the house so far, but it has performed well and will get more use as hunt seasons approach. The tool is so well built, you are hard pressed to find where the various parts of the handle screw into each other. It looks like being one solid piece. If you plan on splitting it with a heavy log, you must only use the short extension tube with the ax head. Medium diameter logs are easy to split. The included knife and ax can be used with any standard sharpener. I keep small ones in my stuff. I have yet to use the sharpener, but my guess is that it performs well. There is an easy fix for the ax head coming loose from the first extension tube. I used clear nailpolish on the threads since I'm keeping mine with a permanent attachment. It's about as good as Lok-Tite, and should you need to separate them, they come apart easier than with Lok-Tite. The advantage of using clear nail polish is that it's almost as good as Lok-Tite, but easier to remove if you need to. I agree with the instructions that some lube on the other threads will keep o-rings sealed, and make the ax easy to disassemble, and that the spray made by WD-40 works better than plain lube. I have never tried it, but I trust my friend's judgement. Greetings to all, and hope that this review helps.

👤I have two shovels that have the same characteristics as this item, with the handles and things hidden inside. I wanted an axe. I didn't have an axe in my survival set. An axe is more useful than a shovel. Pros is what they are. Even though it's just cardboard, it's an awesome case. When I'm done, I like to return all the parts to the case. It's the same thing. Comes with camo grip tape. That's cool, it comes with a sharpner. Love the color. My other shovels are not gold. It's the same thing. I like the paracord off the end. The instructions are confusing and HairMax This thing is in my survival/camping set.

👤There are two items that are always sliding around inside this light weight thing. I wonder if I'm not going to be able to get it apart one day, because the handles keepunlocking, which brings me to tighten them more and more. The feeling of it is very bad. This would be better if the grip was fiberglass. The handle is touching your hands. I thought it was sharp until I started using it. Not a good cut. I could do better with a claw hammer. If you're the seller and you're worried about my post, don't want to smooth things over. This thing is not worth much. I don't want to hear it.

10. JXE JXO Survival Throwing Tactical

JXE JXO Survival Throwing Tactical

The facts: Camp ax's overall length is 15.25 inch, it has a 3.5 inch blade with hammer back, a nylon-fiberglass handle, and a 1680D sheath. The blade length is 3.9" and the weight is 21 ounces. Hatchet and Hammer all in one. Axe are good for splitting wood outdoors. The back hammer design and the razor-sharp blade, thanks for that. The handle is made of nylon reinforced fiberglass and has a firm and comfortable grip. The axe has a nylon sheath to protect it from the elements. This outdoor camping hatchet is a great gift for your friends and family who enjoy hiking or hunting. They will be impressed by your choice if you give them this gift.

Brand: Jxe Jxo

👤You will be so happy to buy an estwing. My product was assembled. I bolted on a longer steel handle after other buyers broke the handle on this hatchet and made claims that the handle was the limiting point. The extra length of the axe makes it easier to produce more force, but it failed to cut the dead maple tree branch with the added help of the upgrade handle and 2 hands. This hatchet was not good enough for me and I can get better value elsewhere. I encourage other consumers to do the same.

👤It takes a long time to connect it with the screws that come with it. The head of the screws is too large. Also, didn't come with all the screws. Will need to find a way to make the screws fit through.

👤I use this in my off-road kit in my Jeep. I like having a chopper and hammer all in one but was looking for something a tad lighter than the Cold Steel Rifleman's Hawk I carry in my trucks off-road kit. I like the included sheath to cover the blade head, it seems to fit the bill. The handle is long and has a good feel to it. The head should not be so heavy that it can't be used. The hammer head is nice and the blade came sharp. It will work well for me. The allen wrench is included to tighten the hardware. It is easy and you don't need instructions. It was cheap and weak to use as a lanyard. I didn't use it. I am not bothered by it because I was not planning on it. If I wanted a lanyard, I would simply use the 550 cord. There are no marks off for this. I wanted to include a full review.

👤Well made heavy steel head ax part sharp hammer heavy duty solid tang will cut and hammer well handle length good. I don't like the fact that the plastic handle is not as heavy as you would want, and it is not easy to put in 3 holes on the head.

👤This had two fatal flaws. The hard work. The head appears to have been cast and then sharpened. The sharpening grind is very steep and crooked. I'm sure your mileage will be different. Certainly correct. I have better things to do. 2. The handle is flexible. I don't see any evidence that glass fiber reinforcement is doing anything more than it is. The nylon cover is large enough to be a problem if I use it in my overnight pack, and the handle must go through the hole in one side of it if you want it to stay put. It's likehatchet underwear. It comes off the top with a snap retainer. It's light, and I like the flat hammer back for tent stakes and other tool use, but to me it's worth the extra 15 bucks for a better brand.

👤You will be disappointed. Hatchett is more for decoration. The blade is not sharp enough to cut through the thick brach. I got a Machette from Harbor freight for $10 that will be more useful during our camping trip, and it was done in less than an hour. Hope this review helps.
