👤One of the things that you practice in your backyard is a tool like this. This set comes with a nice case. I've been testing this hand out and it's been great. I assumed it would be a good tool because it was well-packaged when it arrived. I found the canvas pouch useful for storing it alongside my other bushcraft gear, and the safety tip was nice. I've begun working with a mallet on some furniture. The welding point is flawless and the bit is razor-sharp. I've had some before, but they've never been as good. It has always been difficult to find a decent one. The lead screw on it is long and nice, so it holds the wood well. I'm really happy with it, I've just used it on hardwoods. An electrophoresis coating is applied to a piece of equipment. If you're not familiar with the term, it refers to the process of creating a highly resistant surface. If you just want a settlers wrench, this is a great addition to your survival kit.
👤This little tool works like a sword. Love it! Excellent piece of kit. The cutter in the top handle hole cuts the diameter of the branches and sticks them into the holes created by the auger. You can use the hole in the top handle to cut handle diameter to fit through the top hole and use the auger. The tool is easy to use. It's definitely durable and nice quality. The tool makes building shelters, tables, chairs, and ladders so easy that it goes so fast. I don't go into the woods without Awesome tool.
👤The Scotch eye was not sharp. The edge was thick. It was difficult to make peg ends.
👤The drill cover is useless.
👤The case is not made of leather.
👤A fun piece of outdoor gear. I saw these on a survival show and was interested. The concept is cool. You can drill a hole and shape a peg with one tool. You should be able to make a pretty sturdy shelter that doesn't rely on a bunch or rope. I wanted to see if this would work for my kids, who are making a fort in the woods. The center screw point on the auger helps pull the bit into the wood. You need a strong stick to put in the eye of the tool so that you can turn the drill bit. The eye is supposed to be used to create a peg. It's not as functional as the auger. You need to trim the end of the stick to a size that is close to the "eye" diameter and then use the "eye" as a way of shaving that end perfectly round. If you try and do something that is too big it will either get stuck or split the stick, which is better than just shaving the end. I tried several different sizes of premade stick-like objects to see what would work as a handle for drilling, but a simple 1in broomstick fits the best and is lightweight. This could be useful in a real emergency situation or in a long-term camping setup. I picked up 4 different types of this tool from 4 different companies, but there are differences between them and here's my thoughts as I compared them while doing the same task: The first two were half-inch diameter and the last two were 1/3 in. I think the shaft will get bendier with the repeated beating and torquing on it, and this didn't seem to affect the function. The welds on all 4 seemed to be functional if not terribly attractive, however the one that gets the lowest rank didn't have full welding into the eye itself which means it will be more likely to snap off. Only one of the sheaths had a real leather one, which set it above the other tool. There are two products, the first is a 1/2in shank, solid welds, and the second is a thick synthetic sheath.
You can use a stick through the eye to make the drill simple. The peg is the same size as the wood bit. The drill bit is made of a Scotch eyed auger and a self-tapping pilot screw. The eyed auger can hit a branch with a hammer. The drill side can be turned out of a hole using the leverage principle. The survival gear is lightweight and has a small leather sheath. The easy-to-store settlers wrench makes it easy to make emergency shelters, which is an essential equipment for camping. The wood tools are not easy to break and will not rust. It will not break because of advanced welding technology. The material is made of alloy steel with additional polishing techniques so that it won't rust. The bushcraft tools are great for making pegs. It is suitable for most soft/green wood projects, such as chairs, wooden mallets, ladder and shelter building, camping, swedish rocket stove, and creating cabin dowel holes. 👤The package I received was a GODCRAE Survival gear Bushcraft Auger drill bit and leather hand guard. This Bushcraft has a self tapped pilot screw. The product information says that it is aluminum alloy in one place and steel in another. It's not clear what material the Auger is made of. The seller says it is made of High Carbon Steel. The leather hand guard protects your palms from getting pinched between the Scotch Eye and the stick when you use it. It's too small to allow the velcro to grab. You end up fighting the guard more than it is worth. In survival situations, Bushcraft augers can be very useful. It takes a lot of practice to be able to use it and joint wood together. This is not an auger that I would recommend. I chose a 3” branch and didn't expect any problems with it. The blades dulled so much that they wouldn't cut any deeper than the first inch. The tool didn't make it through the first job. The cutting depth should be 5. You should account for the wood you use for your projects. This tool takes effort and elbow grease but is something that allows you to create items that may be of great use in a survival situation. The self tapping pilot screw on the auger is very useful in securing your pilot hole before the auger starts cutting. The pilot screw helps pull the auger down in testing. This set comes with a nice case. The cutting edge of the auger is sharp but not certain how long it will last. The weld is better than the ones I have seen on other augers. Lifetime Service is offered by the manufacturer on this product. You are taking the time to read this. I received a product in exchange for a review. This is not a product I would recommend. I took it to the first task and it failed testing. If you are serious about Bushcraft, you will want to purchase a high quality auger. The tool lacks the cutting quality and edge retention that is necessary for a tool of this nature. Hope this information helped. This product is made in China.
It's a must-have addition to your Bushcraft backpack and camping gear bin. The lead screw pulls the bit into the work. The heat-treated steel resists damage from nails. The bit has a small hex shank. There are bit sizes of 1/4", 3/8", 1/2", 5/8", and 7/8".
👤The bits are what you'd expect for the price, as Harbor Freight sells about $10 higher, but this is the same exact set, the same branded name, and it's not DRILL MASTER. It works for a while but doesn't hold an edge and doesn't handle hard objects well. Once the screw tip is messed up, soft steel can be reshaped. There is a If I wanted to throw away bits, I would buy them from HF. I was hoping that they were better. No such luck.
👤The value is great. I bought this set to be used in remote locations for wood crafting. There have been no complaints with the product. The bits are performing as expected. I can use them in a drill, I can use them in a brace, and I have used them in a Scotch eye/T handle. I'm loving them so far.
👤The item is the best I have ever used. This is not a joke. The wood is pulled by the tip. There is no need to put pressure on the drill. These bits are very sharp and can be used to bore through pressure treated wood. The holes are clean and round. Try them!
👤The cutting edges are damaged and the screw tips are duller than an old, used and beat up set of bits. These bits are useless since I'm not using power tools.
👤These bits are for hand powered tools. You can use them on power tools, but not the same result. The metal is strong and sharp. It was a little dull but usable. Not the best materials and not the best crafting, but a great set for a beginner.
👤I needed to cut down the tree. They used a corded drill. You can possibly need all of the sizes.
👤The drill bits are easy to use. Good profile to evacuate.
The perfect hole is created every time a Razor Sharp is used. The single wing head makes it easy to drill through wood. The pilot screw is self-tapping and easy to use. Made of Hard Steel is made of hardened steel with a rustic, rugged finish. It is made to last. It's the perfect tool for any outdoor enthusiast. The 3 inch knuckle clearance means you can make deep holes without hurting yourself. The total length is 10. The diameter was cut by one-tenth of an inch. The diameter of the Scotch eye is 1. It is perfect for making shelters, furniture, saw horses, rocket stove, mallets and many more. The carry pouch that comes with each auger provides protection for the auger and any other tools in your survival backpack. It's a great addition to any survival gear. If you are unhappy with the quality of their premium auger, they will replace it for free.
👤The drill was dull and had rough edges on the cutting edges. A metal file was taken to it. After sharpening cutting and guide edges, I drilled a hole in the wood. If you want to use a piece of pipe, you could buy a better drill at Home Depot or Lowe's. Would not recommend it.
👤There are bad manufacturing methods. The top part is poorly welded.
👤I haven't had this product in a while, but I am very impressed with the build quality. It seems to be very strong with a protective coat. I used it on a wooden office desk to test it out. It is very sharp and the tip was able to draw the drill down into the wood. It was delivered earlier than expected.
👤The quality of the auger is really good and it looks like it has a nice finish. There are no spots or holes in the welding between the shaft and eye. I like the fact that it comes with a plastic tube for the tip to store and protect it, it makes it easy to store it, I don't have to worry about it scratching anything.
👤I received this product a few days ago and I'm really pleased with it. It works well and feels sturdy to use, even on harder wood. It is easy to carry around and it is made easier with the carry case. I would rate this 5 stars.
👤Everyone should have one to make a stove from a log.
👤I've only played with this for a while, but it seems sturdy. It's nice for the price.
High quality steel is reliable and long life. Earth Auger can fit for any drill that has a 3/8 inch bit, and you can use it to dig, save time and effort, and plant hundreds or just a few bulbs. A minimum 14V drill is recommended. When not in use, keep the auger clean. Post hole diggers work with many kinds of soil, not only used for planting bulbs, potted plants, vegetables, flowers, bare- root trees and shrubs, tilling soil or planter boxes. There are 3 different size auger, 1.6 X 9 inch, 3 X 12 inch, and 4 X 16 inch, with a steel shaft and non-slip drive. 3 X 12 inch is a good size for horizontal drilling, mixing paint, cement or soil, and 1.6 X 9 inch is a good size for root aeration. It's a good size for setting smaller fence posts or planting annuals in quart-sized pots. Heavy duty steel with glossy black painted finish can be used for a long time. Any gardener should use those bedding plants drill bits. It makes hole digging much quicker and easier than toiling with a trowel or spade, leaving loose soil that will be easy to mix in good dirt andfertilize. Plant labels are great for marking what type of seed you plant or recording its growth situation.
👤The set is a great solution for quickly drilling holes for planting. When I use the Augers for digging deep holes in rocky dirt and roots for palm trees, they don't bend or break. It fit perfectly in my drill and did not loosen. Great purchase!
👤This is a good product. It made getting my plants in the ground quick. I will be gardening with my bad back and hip. We tilled a small area of our garden. The tilled area was a lot harder to drill than the untilled section. Make sure it is the right size for your drill. It wasn't compatible with my battery powered one. The electric one has multiple sizes.
👤Very strong! It fit perfectly on my drill. I would only say to anyone using one of these that they should be careful of stumps and other objects under ground. I would love to have one of these many years ago.
👤The first root I hit was going to bend the blades. Nope... Unless you've dug next to a pine tree, I was boring next to it. When I hit larger roots, my drill would stall. I dug a few holes. Each hole took about 30 seconds to complete with me rocking the side-to-side. The blades were undamaged. Had to laugh at the glove with claws. It reminded me of the old Soupy Sales show with White Fang and Black Fang. (:)
👤These are the augers that fit my drill. They are large and heavy. The drill can handle the Torque. The weather has not been good for working outside, but I used a 3 inch auger to set a 1x2 post with a 4 way hose valve mounted on it. It works very well. I put them in a clear container so they are visible.
👤They're strong and you'll burn up your drill before they break. They would be amazing in a softer soil than I have. I can get the small one to work. The larger two would be more capable of harder ground if they had the same tip. The gloves are a joke and the little claws fell off within 20 minutes of use. I know if I predrill with a smaller one I can get large ones to work. Yes. I'm not disappointed. Not the best deal I've ever had, but an adequate price.
👤The drill piece was medium in size. The garden was put in a month ago and the ground was loose. It worked well. It's easy to use holes for plants. The gloves that come with the set are of good quality. I would recommend it.
👤I needed to make holes around trees to fill with TREETONE. The sizes worked out well.
This is an excellent addition to any bag. It is made of good steel. If you've been looking for a mallet to use with a peg, this one has the added benefit of allowing you to use it. The drill is made of heavy duty steel and has black paint on it. You will be able to stand up digging holes for planting instead of bending over with the extended length. Any kind of soils will be worked on by a heavy duty shaft. It is possible to plant all kinds of flowers and bulbs with the 1.6nch diameter Auger bits. Don't bend over so much to dig holes like the traditional way using a shovel, it will prevent you from back strain. When not in use, the pointed triangle bit of the drill bit has a small hole on it for hanging storage. If you use a drill with a drill chuck to fit your drill, you won't have to worry about the drill not fitting. It is recommended that you use an 18V or larger drill. The package includes a drill bit and garden tools. Great gift ideas for anyone who loves doing garden work will help them plant potted plants, vegetables, flowers, bulbs, soils, paint and so on. You can bring an earth drill on vacation to anchor your tent and beach umbrella.
👤The strength of the auger was due to the construction of it out of heavy gauge steel and the solid welds of it to the shaft. The coat of paint on the auger will help protect it from the elements. I would recommend this auger to others who are looking for a quality and reasonably priced one.
👤Great tool! The holes for tulips were easily bored by the auger. I had to use a digging bar in the past. The job was easy because of the auger and the paint is as good as new.
👤I put it up to my drill. If I was careless enough to drive it into the ground with a single hand, my mileage would have been different. The force of my drill twisted my wrist as it caught up to a rock. Try to drive your drill with two hands and be careful with your drill speed. Another tip. I found it useful to hold it at a certain depth so it pulls dirt out instead of just going into the ground, and to keep getting it in and out. If you are patient and careful, you will be able to dig almost 2 feet deep wholes in less than 30 seconds. Please be careful if your soil is too rocky.
👤It did the job but the metal is cheap and my drill chuck was tearing it up after 12 holes. I would have spent more on a better brand if I knew how useful this tool was. I would have looked for one with all three blades up the shaft.
👤Works well. It was bought to help with post holes. A friend had 7 holes dug out. The round is 18 inches deep.
👤I live in Phoenix, AZ. The ground here is very dry. I wanted to use it to "pre-drill" holes that I would insert landscape lighting stakes into. I attached the bit to my drill and was amazed at how easy it was to cut through the clay. The first landscape light went on. The second landscape light was going to be there. I thought that the bit worked like magic again. I pulled the bit out of the ground and found that the shaft was the only part. The part that looks like a ribbon is still in the ground. I was able to dig up the twist. I could see that the twist had been welded to the shaft in 2 places and both welds had broken. The auger bit works well until the welds break. They broke on the second hole.
👤Not worth it. The picture is a lie, we bought it so we wouldn't have to bend over as much. We did not cross reference the dimensions, but FALSE ADVERTISING includes pictures that make the product look different. It should only be used in dry dirt. You end up with a hole because of wet dirt. Instead of dirt, it was in the ground.
👤It was used to dig holes to install mole spikes. My soil is hard as a rock and difficult to dig. I couldn't deal with it with a shovel or spade. It was easy because of the auger.

👤When Hurricane Michael destroyed my dock and seawall, I decided to change the design and use 1/2 inch threaded rods with washers and nuts to secure the dock to the new pilings. The problem was that I had to bore a hole through two crossmembers and 8 inch pilings. I needed to drill through 60 of them. I tried a spade but it didn't get started. I purchased a Dewalt Auger Bit and started using it on the piles that I hadn't installed yet. I used my 1/2 inch corded drill and bored a hole without a problem. I couldn't use my corded drill on the piles that I alreadyjetted. I tried two different drills and they couldn't do the job. The drills would stop before I could finish. I bought a Milwaukee M18 FUEL 1/2 inch portable drill. The drill and Auger Bit did a good job. The bit was able to handle the hardened screws and nails that I ran into. I bought two of these bits thinking that one would wear out before I finished all the drilling, but I have not opened the second bit yet, and I have completed approximately 90 holes so far. I would highly recommend this part.
👤This thing is a monster. I didn't intend to go through nails. I built a new home and did a lot of my own cable work, including running data cables, security cables, and coax cables through 1 1/4" Carlon tubing. I probably did 50 holes, with most of them going through 2x4 beams. The bit is still capable of drilling more holes despite the fact that it has dulled. The correct drill needs to be powerful. I have a 26v battery-powered Dewalt and a 6-amp wired Craftman that couldn't do the job. What is the solution? I bought the largest drill I could find. I had to buy 150' of 12AWG wire as per the drill's instructions because a smaller sized wire would have resulted in reduced power and danger of overheating. You may be able to use smaller sized wire. Depending on the distance you're running, the larger number AWG. I was 100 feet away from the only electrical outlet during home construction. I would still get 12AWG wire even over shorter distances just to be safe. It won't work for you if you don't have enough power.
👤This product is like a hot knife through butter and was used to drill holes in tree stump. People think it's a tree stump. Put a drill bit in and leave. All of the trees are different by nature. Some are very hard and some are very soft and some are very dry. You have one drill that is large enough to hold the bit. There is a If you want a lot of people to do one job, that's fine. If you. Purchase one and save yourself frustration.
👤I bought several different sizes of this bit. I'm very happy to have them in my tool box. I've used them in a lot of different situations. They make it easy to drill. They are very aggressive and will pull you into the piece. I found several nails in the old studs of the building that I am working on and the bits are not showing any wear.

The Scotch Eye Auger is a very useful tool for camping, hiking, backpacking, bushcrafting, and building with primitive cabin tools in the wild. 👤The punch did not make it through the second try. The threading on the screw seemed to stop after the first use. It is a great idea, but I am not sure if it is a good idea or not. I am a survival instructor and I was very interested in the things my students could come up with for this item. The wood I used was a plumb cut green and didn't have a lot of seasoning. The punch took the bark away and the diameter was not much larger. You can watch the video to see what I'm talking about.
👤The first one I got broke as I tried to remove it from the stick. This was a terrible process. The replacement was dull and couldn't be used.
👤The tool broke off on the first use. This tool is a waste of money. It's not clear how this got 5 star reviews. It broke today after getting it today.
👤So far, so good. It was delivered. I didn't have to keep track of it for a long time. It looks and feels like it is made of quality steel. The case is made of real leather. I haven't tried it yet. I'll let you know if anything changes. Just sane... Saint.
👤Construction is great. A great tool to have.
👤This is a great way to build projects without electricity. Excellent for bushcraft in constructing a shelter.

👤I was concerned about reviews that talked about stripping the end that goes in the drill. I use an old battery drill and it worked great. I used this to loosen up some rocky soil and plant flowers. This made the job even easier. This wouldn't drill through rocks and it would struggle with clay soils. It's not a tractor mounted tool, but a hand tool. It exceeded my expectations. What could be more fun?
👤My mind is blank. I have hard clay soil and making holes for new plant babies was very difficult with a blunt shovel, even though I put my body weight on it. This takes care of the hard outer layer that is connected by grass roots with almosy zero effort. I use this with a DeWalt drill and it fits just like any other drill bit. I used the holes in the ground for new plants and also used them to prepare a small raised bed. I was able to remove the old roots, turn over the existing soil and mix in new soil thanks to it. Without these babies, the total would have taken over an hour and a half. Spending less time digging, less time hassling with hard soil, and more time enjoying the outdoors is what you get with these. I haven't used the plant labels, they seem flimsy, but will give them a try.
👤I bought this item for a friend. She lives in an area with clay and rock. I was very impressed with the item. It was easy to navigate through the dirt. I ordered a set for myself. I requested a second set after clicking on the previous order. My items were lighter in weight than the ones I gave to my friend, but they were suppose to be the same. I had to apply a lot of pressure to get it to move. They should have been the same, but not like the video or the one my friend has. I don't know if they used less steel or added something when they made the next batches, but my product seems inferior to the original product. I hope to get better results when I try it again on a different drill.
👤This is a gift that has not been used yet. I'm giving the one star rating because I was looking for something made in the USA. The question was asked and answered that it was made in the USA. It is not made in the USA as advertised.
👤I bought this product to help with digging fence posts or at least starting them, and to create holes for my fences. The tools are needed to attach the drill. My boyfriend didn't like the fact that the little one had to start the hole because of what was on the tip. I grabbed his second drill and attached it to the first so that he wouldn't have to swap them out. The big one can only be used after drilling into the dirt with the smaller tool, because it doesn't have the little tip on the top like the small one does. It loosened up the ground so we weren't tiring ourselves out setting up our fence or planting flowers.
The cutting flute is made with hollow centers. Their drill bit is long enough to allow you to stand and dig. You don't need to squat or protect your knee. It can save you a lot of time in digging. The old version has less ability than the new version. The Quick Hole Punching Drill Bit is a 2-inch (5 cm) diameter x 32-inch (80 cm) length and is thicker than a regular drill. A garden hole digger can drill hundreds of holes in a few minutes. Special triangle bit will work on rocky soil. 2 inch diameter x 32 inch length. The barrel is made of heavy duty steel and has a glossy green painted finish. 7 laps of spiral blades. They suggest using an 18V or greater drill with a drill chuck. Various applications. The auger drill bit can be used for a lot more than just digging holes, it can also be used for mixing seed, soil, fertilizer, paint and for all plants in the garden. 👤My oak tree is in clay soil. After just 20 holes, it was worn down quickly. The tip lost 25% of its width as it could no longer penetrate the soil. After 5 holes, it became harder to drill. It would work better in looser soils. The picture shows how much material was worn down. Two levels are on the side to show how much has been worn down. The drill shook a bit because the shaft bent. Enough to mention, but not enough to not use.
👤I have bad knees and back, so I don't have to bend over. I kicked the dirt over the ground with my foot when I stood up straight and drilled holes in the ground. Doesn't get any easier and I love it.
👤It didn't work for me because I was purchased to plant large quantities of bulbs. It's easier to trench or dig each hole. It works well in potting soul and could be good for planting bulbs in raised planters as it has a small diameter. If you have sandy soil, this would work great.
👤Initially, it was used to install 2 inch lighting poles. I realized how useful that is for my gardening. I drill the holes instead of digging. It is so convenient. I don't need to bend over to get the length. Very happy with the purchase.
👤The top inch of the soil is not the place to drill a hole large enough to install a pipe. The roots are shallow when you irrigate on the top. The plant has a better chance of staying up in the wind if the roots go deeper.
👤The soil was thrown with ease by the drills and 4 holes together.
👤It makes planting so much easier. No more digging and bending. At least one time the ground needs to be rototilled. Then plant crazy.
👤Need a big drill for a support grip, otherwise worked well. There are few issues getting down into hard earth after 40 holes.
