DackWinid Portable Ultrafiltration Personal Emergency

The special storage case has a mesh pocket inside to hold spare parts and essential tools, and can be used as a pen case. It's ideal for travel and daily use. The filter's size is 0.1 microns. The total effective area of ultrafiltration is over 300 square inch. The water flow rate was 0.4 gallons per minute. The dimensions are 1.6” 7.4” 1057 gallons is the total filtration capacity.

Brand: Dackwinid

👤We liked everything about them.

👤This Chinese manufactured water filter offers transparency as to the contents and construction, so check both my and seller ad photos. A replaceable spare carbon pre-filter was provided by the seller. The hollow microfiber tubes are wrapped into a U shape at the bottom in my photo, only concern I have is reflected in it. You can see the light coming through the outer body. I am not sure if this would allow contaminated water to short-circuit a path and avoid going through the microtube filtration process. There are gaps in the tube body where hollow fibers are not placed, but there is no clear picture of that in the photo. I liked the features of this device, such as a screw on solid sip tube cap, hanging carabiner, and neck lanyard, to help prevent accidental droppage into water source during use. There is an informative user instruction pamphlet included with the device that helps users better understand how to use it safely. I would love for a Chinese manufacturer to give a copy of their certified results along with their product to a water quality testing lab. Water quality should not be taken lightly because of the possible consequences of waterborne impurities. This manufacturer makes what they are doing visible for inspection, and that puts them far ahead of other Chinese origin water filters I have personally reviewed. I would use it more in emergency situations than I have used the other units I have looked at to date, even though I wouldn't be comfortable using it as my primary water filters for outdoor recreational activities. I hope you find my photos and comments helpful.

👤After testing, instructions were written for an off brand product. The carbon filter ripped when it was removed. That was disappointing, but I don't think that should happen with the second filter. That's a great bonus! I had trouble removing the filter withoutpuncturing it because the factory pushed it in too far. I should not ruin this one because I can see the lip that prevents it from going in too far, as I placed the second filter. It wasn't as hard to suck water as I thought. If I was going to use it for hiking or backpacking, I would upgrade to the metal canister as the plastic may not be as durable. These are the way to go if you just want them in an emergency supply kit. Excellent value and very pleased with them.

👤Life straws for your backpack are an appearance that we keep in our emergency kit. I have to rely on life straws because I can't afford to go to Mexico during emergencies. Excellent for emergencies.

👤I ordered the Dackwinid Straw water filters to add to my bag. They are easy to use and lightweight. You can drink from any water source. I keep these on hand for emergency purposes. In a survival situation, the purity of the water would definitely be better than nothing.

2. Etekcity Filtration Personal Purifier Emergency

Etekcity Filtration Personal Purifier Emergency

High-quality materials are built out of strong food-grade plastic, which ensures water safety and delivers a better drinking experience. The smaller frame of the water filters from Membrane Solutions makes them more convenient to use. The German TV SD Examination Institute tested the water purification system and found it to be safe. There is an advanced filigree design. To protect against large contaminants. Heavy metal ion and chlorine can be removed with Ion-exchange. Activated carbon can be used to eliminate odors. 0. The hollow fiber UF is used to filter 99. 99% of waterborne rubbish is waterborne. There are accessible accessories. The water pouch has a D type hook, an extension tube, a back wash device, and an inlet mouthpiece. The water yield can be up to 400 million liters and the high filter capacity can provide up to 1500L of safe drinking water. It's an ideal gear. Small and light. It's perfect for camping, backpacking, scouting and more. Store for emergency preparation.

Brand: Etekcity

👤It definitely does as advertised, and I went camping with it. It made the river water appear green and clean. It works better than some others at this price point. If you can afford it, you should save yourself the trouble and get a more expensive one. The bad. The water pouch is not a good travel companion as it is difficult to open and cannot be fully inflated to fill the advertised volume. It is a very tiring and tedious process to suck through the straw. You can use a screw onto the end of the squeeze bottle to act as a filter. You're in for a tough time if you don't. Unless you're in dire circumstances where you can't get a safe drinking source, I would spend a little more on a pump or gravity type water purification system. It is tiring to use due to the density of the filter. Peripherals leave a lot to be desired. Pack away in a bug-out scenario.

👤This is great! The bag allows you to squeeze it and force water through the filter quicker than other bagless models. I have tried it with gross water and it was fine.

👤I am testing it in Puerto Rico whenever I return. I use it at water fountains to protect myself from harmfulbacteria. The water services are still unknown. The first time it was used, it tasted like something. It quickly loses its bad taste. That has many different ways of using it. From the extensio to reach down far or the water bag that can be used to pour as you go. My brother sent one to the doctor. I trust the system. I used it many times without getting sick.

👤This is good for personal use, but a bit small for more than one person. We took a trip to the boundary waters canoe area. If it is only used for an occasional drink of water, it works well. The water tasted like it came from a bottle. The water flow through these is sufficient for someone to drink from, but not enough for a group of people. This is suitable for personal use only, so it's obvious for those who have used them before. We had two of this style and they were the same. If you're trying to get enough water to fill multiple water bottles or a pot for boiling water for dinner, you should get a bigger one. We had a version that had better flow capacity. The smaller versions of the PointOne would take about 30 minutes to fill, but we didn't try it, just an estimate. It takes a long time to squeeze the bag. If the PointOne was just wanting to use gravity flow, it would do better if the bag had to be squeezed or someone sucked water through it. This comes with a 16oz bag and the PointOne has a 32oz bag. It makes a difference in the amount of time that is spent refilling. We had an extra 32oz bag. I would get the Sawyer Point One for personal use. It is more expensive, so perhaps not a fair comparison. I think the extra cost is justified if you are relying on this for more than just an emergency use.

3. Sawyer Products SP160 One Gallon Dual Threaded

Sawyer Products SP160 One Gallon Dual Threaded

Brand: Sawyer Products

👤You don't need a water filter to make tap water drinkable, these things are for backpacking. There are a couple of things that happen when you do that. silt is going to be in your dirty bag at least a bit. You know that a dirty bag has unsafe water in it, and that it is waiting to ruin your night by tainting your clean water. I don't backpack where I have a table to lay this thing on, but I do backpack where I have a backpack. I need to hang it and the only way to do that is with a thong through the carrying handle and around the tree trunk or branch. That works great, and even leaves the output hose "port" a little higher than the filler port, which gives silt a place to settle. If you're using the Sawyer Mini filter, you should always allow dirty water to sit for at least 10 minutes. It would be easy to include a high-flow cone-type filter that stuck up into the dirty bag, held in place by the outlet hose attachment, if they sold a pre-filter for this. I put a bandanna over the hole before putting on the cap. It worked, but not perfect. You have a bag hanging down with a hose. There was dirty water on itself. If you read the instructions and don't get completely out of water, you'll be able to rinse off the components before using them. The pull-to-open drinking valve outputs the filter's output. This is not ideal. The filter is heavy and hard to "aim" into, so it falls on the end of the hose. The water is being thrown around wasted. If you're sharing this system, you don't want to use your mouth to open the valve, but it takes a lot more force to open than a bottle. Once you open it, you have to use a dirty mouth or hand to close it again, or lift it up above the dirty bag to stop the gravity flow, which could allow a few drops to fall into your cup, bottle. These things are easy to fix and I wish Sawyer did it himself. Four cheap items greatly improve the experience. There is a second Sawyerhydration pack adapter set on Amazon. This gives you a blue and grey screw-on accessory. 2. A short hose. Attach the above to the output side of the filter. Carry the blue "bottle coupler" with you. 3. A pair of tube "pinch clamps", the small plastic kinds that you squeeze to close off a water tube. They are usually sold for aquariums for a dollar or two. The hoses are about an inch from the filter. 4. A small plastic hose clip is used to hold the air hoses in the aquarium. The end of the new output hose is where this should be clipped. Here's how it works. When you fill the dirty bag, close the hose clamps. The filter will not lose its prime if air bubbles are put into it. It's long enough to hang out of the way so you don't have to worry about the output side getting dirty or dripped on. You can set up your output side before you open anything. Attach the bottle coupler to the last/unused screw fitting and put it on the end of the hose if you want to filter into a bottle. You can take your time if you set your bottle well. If you're good, open the pinch clamps. If you want to use the hose clip to attach the output hose to the top lip of your pot, it won't flop out and get dirty. Again, you can do this with the flow off and turn it on when you are ready. These things add $10 and 4oz to your setup. They turn the whole experience of water purification from "sort of touch and go" to "no sweat, this is easy."

Brand: Purewell

👤They do what they are suppose to do. We used water testing equipment to try them out and they did not show any signs of contaminated particles. No one got sick from it. I have recently ordered more to have. My home as well as my cars.

👤Good value for money. I was looking for a product. The bottle is well designed. Food grade plastic has a strong build. The product is light in weight and solid to hold water. I can easily get to the outing. Natural resources such as leak, pond and river can be used to filter my water. It is easy to carry. It is easy to clean. The straw can fit in a backpack. The tube can easily be bent and stored everywhere.

👤I was surprised by the packaging of the two filters, but the product looks like the picture. I was happy to get two at an average price of $12 each, since I've seen individual ones sell for $17 in the store. I keep them in emergency bags. I haven't had the chance to use them yet.

👤I bought it as an add-on to my emergency bag and water purification tabs. Have not been tested. Stay ready.

👤It cleaned the water.

👤I read the instructions three times before using them. One of them is still blocking.

👤My husband is happy with the gift.

5. Sawyer Products SP103 Filtration System

Sawyer Products SP103 Filtration System

The CakCity Mens Sport watch comes with a manual and friendly customer services. Attaches to hydration packs, disposable water bottles, or straws to drink directly from your water source. The removal of allbacteria and the removal of all protozoa removes 100% of microplastics. The Sawyer MINI filter is rated up to 100,000 gallons.

Brand: Sawyer Products

👤The product has everything needed to carry water. The water purification system made perfect sense to me as a nurse. I bought it for my son to hike the Pacific Crest Trail. I thought it was brilliant. And it is. The O ring broke on the second day of his hike. The problem on the mini was familiar to other hikers. The regular size Sawyer filter does not have the same problem. You can go from a 1 star to a 5 if you fix your O rings.

👤The instruction is written in a way that makes it seem like it's for another product. There are instructions for a push pull valve, but not one for a push pull valve. The design of the backwashing kit is poor, it does not attach to the filter, thus allowing water to leak out around the connection between the filter and the syringe, thus the flush will not be adequate due to lack of pressure and flow. I recommend not buying this product until the company hires someone that understands English better, as I believe that the design of this product was not thought out and that force is not required to hold the syringe tip next to the filter. Please rewrite the instructions completely because the instructions need to be changed so that the filter can be attached to the syringe easily. The thread size on a standard 500mL water bottle is not match by the filter.

👤This is a great option for a small filter. I was looking for a new accessory. I have used various gravity and pump systems in the past and wanted something smaller and lighter. I don't think I'll use it on top of a water bottle. I was a little worried because I thought it would only work as a squeeze system and it could be a little slow or awkward at times. I was satisfied with the speed and ease of use when using it as a squeeze filter, as well as with the platypus bag. I think this filter shines when used as a drip system. I used it with a 1 liter platypus bag and found that I could hang the bag with the filter on it from a cord with a tarp clip and let it gravity filter into a bottle. The wind can't blow the lower tip of the filter off target if I place it inside a bottle. It's much easier to hold a liter of filters than it is to hold a liter. I keep the filters, backflushing syringe, and the bag in a pocket in my pack. The cord is tied in a loop with a taut line hitch. I can adjust the height of the filter when I throw it over a branch so that it hangs just inside the top of the bottle. You can see from my pictures that the flow was adequate. After the first use, I flushed about once a day on the trail. The first time I tried to attach it to the supplied bag and my platypus bag, I had trouble with it. I had to be careful to make sure the threads were straight and not at an angle. I got it lined up correctly, and it went on without a hitch. I drink and cook with it on the trail, using an average of 5 or 6 litres of water per day.

👤I have this to take hiking with my kids. I own several filters and this one is cheap, lightweight and tastes good. The tubing included for the straw makes a difference. Definitely recommend.

👤It's better to have it and not need it.

👤It's not easy to flush this device multiple times and then use it manually. I used it on a camping trip and didn't know how much blowing I had to do. Crick water will still taste like Crick water, but you won't get the extra stuff in it.

👤Don't get caught with dirty water. The water straw is always good for drinking with.

👤Keep one in your go bag for when you go outside.

👤I am llevar en un bolso pequeo. Recomendable para aquellos.

👤I haven't used it yet, but it seems great. I bought two. It was amazing. It was very informative. We love it! Can't wait to try it. We bought for emergency situations.

👤Don't buy this filter. It will fail. Both of mine did.

👤I want a bottle thread that works with standard bottle threads so I don't have to go to a water source to get my water. The included accessory allows for that. I thought it didn't fit, but I realized that you just have to push the bottle over the cone shaped part of the adapter firmly and the silicone will squeeze into the bottle and make a good seal. You can drink directly from the bottle or squeeze it into a container. There is a If using a rigid bottle, stop every so often and turn the bottle upright, then remove the filter to allow air into the bottle and let it re-expand. You don't need to use collapsible bottles. The kit has a pre-filter and long tubing. You can drink directly from a water source without having to bend down and submerge the straw.

👤I didn't expect much for $20, but this straw has a great filter system that makes pond water taste good. It is definitely worth the money.

👤We are hiking more often because we can't go on group outings or camping trips with scouts. This is the only one that comes with everything you need for emergency water purification. I would have rated the Rate Features five stars if they had been Giftable, because the items arrive in a professionally decorated box. The contents include a lanyard, small drink pouch, and small hose. We learned how to use the rain water at home to flush out the initial filter and then hiked with it. The camelback hydration pack has this in it if we need more water during a hot hiking day.

👤I have been looking for a personal purifier that works. I've had some that looked like they were making the water taste better, but as soon as you drink the water, it's not really made of water. You can taste the difference with this purifier. I used the water from the outside hose after doing a comparison with a bottle of water that I bought in a case. I poured them in cups and had my family taste the water from the cups. The others thought the water came from the bottled water, but only one person guessed the cup was from the bottled water. This is very easy to use. I plan on taking this with me on my upcoming hiking trip because I have this in my emergency bin. It's worth taking with me because it filters water and most of us couldn't taste a difference.

👤This works as advertised. I used the bag to fill bottles while camping. The plastic bottle sprung a leak after about 6. It was necessary to squeeze the bag to close the leak spot. The reverse osmosis drinking water tap has a great flow rate. Those of us who are too lazy for backflushing maintenance should be disposable.

👤There is a pouch in the contents. No pouch was included.

👤I would like to recommend this product. I bought this straw for my wife and me because we were going camping. I was browsing for camping gear on Amazon when I found this product. The package came with a backwash and water pouch. I was able to store some of the water. The life straw is fast in its filtration rate. The water pouch is free of impurities. Some people are asking if they have to lie down. Don't worry! The camping gear straw has a water tube that you can drink from. If you need hiking gear, this is a good choice.

👤I gave it to my boyfriend for Christmas, but he was not expecting it. We don't use them very often, but we have bug out bags that are great to have on you in case of an emergency or long camping trips where fresh water isn't available.

👤I have been tested by outdoorsmen and am safe if you are stuck in a car with no fresh water.

👤I received it and it was coming apart. I returned it because I wanted to give it back.

Brand: Membrane Solutions

👤I have never had a bottle like this one. This is the winner because I checked Amazon for reviews. It comes with the filter for tap water or on the go water, and it does a great job of blocking out nasty waster flavor. Brita pitchers have always been gross to me. The water shoots into your mouth like it knows how thirsty you are, because the sucking nozzle is so perfect. The stream of water physics is amazing. I keep it clean, but haven't had to clean it a lot. It comes with a lid that is perfect for hiking. If you break it, I am fine. I love this bottle.

👤If you're like me and have to have clean water wherever you go, this might work for you because my parents don't think there's a difference between a regular tap and a filter. It is now an effort to drink the water from the bottle. You have to be terrible. It was hard. The water comes up through the filter. Don't expect to be able to drink from this. If you've ever had a drink with a weird loop straw or a weird-looking milkshake, you're familiar with this place. You have to work this bottle to get what you want. The water is really good. If that doesn't bother you, this should work well. If you're stranded in the middle of nowhere with no sense of direction and only a water bottle, it's cool that it has a tiny built in compass.

👤Light and strong. It's easy to bring this with you. I bought it for my survival bag. This gives me a sense of security that I will be ok with water when it's not good. An old saying is to drink water and avoid water the horse won't drink. They know the difference between good and bad water. I think that's correct.

👤The water bottle has a lot of functions. It comes with a straw for use as a regular non-filtered water bottle for everyday use when your water sources are clean, as well as the filter that is attached to the inside of the lid. The button on the latching mechanism that holds the drinking spout in the top of the lid is very strong and springy and makes a nice secure click when in place. The package includes directions for back-flushing the filter to keep it clean after use from open water source debris, and it is not difficult to detach the filter. It is functional for a lot of fills. In areas of nature where there are no human developed/modernized water sources available for developed water system sources, camping or hiking is a must. I was happy with my purchase and would buy again in the future.

👤Beautiful color. It was easy to use. Water tastes great if everything is filters out. It's great to use outdoors. It's perfect for my mountain hikes. A single filter is needed to remove almost 400 gallons of water. No problems were encountered when you ran through the dishwasher.

Brand: Simpure

👤I was surprised. I thought the water would be bland, but it tasted great. It's better to have water out of a tap. I can't get to the seller in time for my review to be updated. The fter is not working after two uses. I've tried blowing air and drawing air to no avail. It isn't covered with mud or silt. The fibers have just expanded to the point of obstruction, and the seller got in touch to let me know a replacement filter was not a problem. I should have it very soon. Customer service is great.

👤I used it to remove the bladder from the included one as well as sucking the water through the straw. Both worked well. It took about 7 minutes to gravity filter 2.5 liters. It takes a bit of effort to get it through the straw, but once it starts, it's pretty consistent. It would be great if the hose was longer to make it easier to sip from it on the go. The hose is short compared to a camel bladder.

👤I haven't tried the gravity bag yet, but I have some red flags. 1. The product doesn't have the words Waki on it. 2. The same product and images are used by another company. 3. The product seems to be for a bottle of water, but I bought a straw and gravity bag. I fear using this in a real life situation because I don't want it to be a fake.

👤If you have used these before, you know what you are dealing with. If you are already on your camp out and find you have no water, you are up for a surprise. Irepped this thing at home. The flow is so bad that I only got a small sip. If you are camping, this will not provide enough water. You will die. I have spoken with other campers and they all agree. The purification tablets are for sale.

👤I drank out of a lake and a river and there were no problems. Water tasted great and I didn't get sick, what more could you ask for?

👤We had to get one to treat the water at our hunting camp because we saw this on the Wooded Beardsman's YouTube channel. Our camp's water comes out of the ground into a collector, then it overflows into a reservoir, before traveling by pipe into the camp. The water should be pure, but you never know if something has died in the water source or in the collector. We hang the bag on a nail and let gravity do all the work. I've heard that pressing the bag will help it move faster, but we just let it do its own thing. The bag has a handle that can be slid on and off. The most important thing to remember is to remove the air bubbles from the tube so the water flows well. The air will be removed when the tube is tapped and squeezed. The water is clear and odorless. It's a must for anyone who has time to purify water.

👤Good price point. The pump is hard to open. I had to pry the handle up on the units. Glad it didn't break. It would be great if it had a replacement filter or at least information on how to replace it. Outside of that. It works the way it should.

👤On delivery, it was broken and unusable. It appears to be very fragile. Return and try a different brand.

👤The handle won't extend up. There was nothing in the owner's manual.

👤I had to apply a lot of force to pull the handle loose. It was not a problem then. I want to know if other filters will work with it.

👤My family talked about water. When the EPA changes the acceptable level of some chemicals in our water, it will make our water unsafe to drink. The water is not changing. If something happened to our water supply, what would happen? We have some streams and ponds in the area, but they are not safe to drink. If something like that ever happened, I thought this would be a useful thing to provide a bit of drinking water. This is not something we are going to use to purify 10 gallons of water, but in a pinch, this would be a way to get clean water. It is a manual pump, but it is supposed to filter out most of the stuff that can make you sick. It comes with a pump, a little pre-filter, plastic tubing, a cup, and two collapsible water bottles. It is light, so I could see packing it for a canoe camping trip, where access to safe water was not an issue. We could add this in if we were hiking with a group. Several of us would be able to use one unit. Without a lab test it is hard to evaluate effectiveness. Sometimes you have water that is safe to drink, sometimes it doesn't contain enoughbacteria to cause illness, and sometimes you are just lucky. You are more likely to get sick if you drink from natural sources. There is a layer of protection. Maybe the bad things that would have made you sick were taken out by it. If you can drink from a natural source and not get sick, it will work. It is made of plastic and should last a long time. Assume that replacement filters can be purchased when needed, since the filter is replaceable.

👤I believe it's because of the vacuum created when it's pumped that it's hard to open the first time. I pumped 400ml through it in about 30 seconds, and I would say that it's not hard to fill up a water bottle, but you definitely need to keep track of the included wrench used to remove the filter, because it's not easy to do. The pump comes with a mesh bag to keep all of the parts together, and the included hose is of a material that doesn't seem to kink, which is nice.
